Exactly! I'm really enjoying that they're traveling and we get Andrews beautifully written descriptions again. Plus I love that Curran just lets Kate take care of herself. Read up to 29%...

I understand getting hooked. I was soooo glad when I finally picked up the Elementals series. Just as great as everyone had said. The wait for the next book is killing me ...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Yay! I love the Elementals series.

Tellulah, the next book of Elementals is up on Netgalley. I just found out from Anna and went and grabbed it.

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Yay for Voyager!! :D

I finished Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men (Jane Jameson, #2) by Molly Harper and Sex. Love. Repeat. by Alessandra Torre

Leea I enjoyed Sex. Love Repeat. I liked the first 3/4 but felt the ending was not satisfying. But the first 3/4 is worth the read. I am thinking 3.5 stars.

I agree! We basically felt the same thing about this book. I decided on 3.5 Stars too. I was going to round it up but after writing my review, I decided to round it down. The last part of the book was just disappointing.

message 4560: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments It really was! But I'd say the first part makes it worth it to try, but it isn't the 5 star book others are rating it at (for me anyway). I think it is surprising given the two men and that they are aware of that the heroine has another guy in her life. The setting is kind of fun too. I don't read many books set in LA -- downtown Hollywood and Venice Beach.

message 4561: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments So I am suddenly sad -- I realized that I am reading the end of Molly Harper's back list. Once I finish the Nice Girls series (I am on #3), I won't have any of her books to read until she publishes something new!

I read the first Elemental not that long ago, too, Jen. I loved it! I can't wait to read the rest.

For those of you who ARE caught up (or not) it looks like the next one is up on Netgalley.

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments I just started Santa Olivia by Jacqueline Carey and The Spider by Jennifer Estep. Santa Olivia is quite artful but a bit of a struggle at the moment (I'm only at chapter 3). The Spider is pretty good fun at the moment.

Santa Olivia (Santa Olivia, #1) by Jacqueline Carey The Spider (Elemental Assassin, #10) by Jennifer Estep

message 4573: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I have been wanting to read Santa Olivia for years. The author is a talented writer, but it took me several tries to get into another book by her Kushiel's Dart (Phèdre's Trilogy, #1) (Kushiel's Universe, #1) by Jacqueline Carey but once I did, I loved it.

Leea | 1437 comments Finished Magic Rises (Kate Daniels, #6) by Ilona Andrews - Holy crap this baby was good!!! Full range of emotions while reading this book. Plus I got to read it with Wendy - fun times!!

Next up, Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

I may be pokey for this BR, friends. Our big move is this Friday. Exhaustion may force my eyelids to shut.

So, you're not liking it much, Ian? *bites nails*

I've gotta get a move-on of
How to Run with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #3) by Molly Harper . It releases soon! Let it be better than book #2 (2 stars). *bites nails*

message 4586: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Anna, I still need to read the second book book... You do have me worried with your 2 stars. Maybe after Attachments.

With me it's Grand Central Publishing. They don't trust us scary foreigners.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) What a relief, Ian! There's always that moment of BR dread when a buddy is not liking the book. What did I commit to reading? No worries! I'm cool now. ;)

Ian wrote: "It's come good. I'm loving it! I don't think it's a slow start so much as a slow build."

@Leea...Eh. Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean you'll feel the same. The humor is present. The characters, imo, we're not up to book 1's par. There are many readers who loved it as much as 1. You'll have to read it and share your thoughts. ;)

message 4591: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Leea it isn't as good as the first but still funny. My favorite series by far by her is the one I am reading now. It is fabulous. Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper

Magic Rises was so good! I love the Kate Daniels books! I was all nervous that after (view spoiler), but nope! It was great!

Now, I can't wait to read Attachments. The last Rainbow Rowell book out, until Landline by Rainbow Rowell . (Even more exciting is that Rainbow Rowell is dropping hints that she's doing a Eleanor & Park sequel and I can't waiiiiit!)

message 4593: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I know... She better write and E & P sequel with all the twitter hints she's been dropping.

message 4594: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I would love more E&P...at the end of that book, it just left me wanting more.

I'm still working my way through Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor . It took me a long time to really get into it. I'm thinking it's the writing style that I had to get use to and also the world building. But it has really picked up for me at the 80% mark. I hope to finish it today.

message 4595: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments That was exactly how Smoke and Bone was for me too, Kay. The second half I couldn't put it down.

I didn't realize she also wrote Karma Girl. Are you enjoying the series? Anyone else read it? Liked it? I want a new UF series to read.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I've been meaning to read Elemental Assassin for a while but something keeps getting in the way. I'm pretty sure it's adult UF.

Weird. I loved DoSaB from page 1, but I adored the heavy fantasy vibe. I could see where it might be more difficult to get into if it's not someone's usual/preferred genre.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I feel like I haven't been reading much at all lately. I've been reading on the same book for days, even though I'm liking it.

Same with me. It took me many days to finish the last book I read when it would usually take me 1-2 days/book.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments It's probably the season or something. I am going to try to get a good chunk of reading done today; see if I can restart the mojo.

Finally finished Racing Savannah by Miranda Kenneally and it was cute.

Started Night of Cake & Puppets (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #2.5) by Laini Taylor and am about 12% into Santa Olivia (Santa Olivia, #1) by Jacqueline Carey .

Santa Olivia is really good so far. I'm surprised at how dark it's been (featuring some sort of a disease-infested apocalyptic society), but I like that it took me by surprise.
