Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Good way to describe it DG.

Angie I forgot have you read Experiment in Terror?

I'm may start today or this weekend... Do you want to join us?

message 3703: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments I didn't mind the Allie Beckstrom series for UF either, but i've only read the first 4 books - mostly because I just haven't had room in challenges to continue them

No, but it's on the list!

message 3705: by Sandra (last edited Oct 04, 2013 08:44AM) (new)

Sandra | 27 comments I finished Rogue (Shifters, #2) by Rachel Vincent .
I loved Stray but Rogue didn't work for me. Because I couldn't disconnect from work or because it didn't help me to do it, I don't know, but I hardly felt into it.

Now I'm going to read The Crown of Embers (Fire and Thorns, #2) by Rae Carson and And With Madness Comes the Light (Experiment in Terror, #6.5) by Karina Halle .

message 3706: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Angie, you might want to try Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane . It's kickass and if you can get past the Downside speak and also drug use, you might like it.

message 3707: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Mmmmm Terrible :)

I also loved, Aftertime (Aftertime, #1) by Sophie Littlefield although there is a minor romance element. You also should read The First Days (As the World Dies, #1) by Rhiannon Frater , later there is a romance but it's the relationship between the two main female characters that is so fun to read.

All this UF talk has me itching to read Terrible's short... Wendy? After Outlander?

message 3708: by Angie Elle, BaBAMB!!! (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments Thank you for all the recs, gals! I have made a shelf called 'recs based on Night Huntress,' and I will be diving into it soon! :)

If I can I may. I do want to re-read all of them before the next one is out. ;)

Heck yeah! I've been wanting to read that one!

I'm going to reread them all too. Splitting them among other books. I'm craving Jamie.

message 3712: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Ugh...I don't know what to read. I've been searching all day. I don't think I can be helped.

message 3713: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I'm dumb. I am wanting to read Possession by JR Ward.

message 3714: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Not dumb, loyal. ;)

message 3715: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Jamie will always be there, Regina :) I didn't have time to start so I hope to start tomorrow.

Nucking Futs the Fire Fairy Book-a-holic (firefairyholic) | 4 comments I've just started reading Dead Sky Morning (Experiment in Terror, #3) by Karina Halle

message 3717: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments MMMMMMmmm! Dex :) Enjoy Chelssie.

I'm soccer mom'd out today. We left the house at 9:30am and we just got home at 4:30pm... I'm tired and I still have to pack for our trip tomorrow.

message 3718: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I only have 1 kid in soccer so I can only imagine what you're going through, Leea. Aren't you guys coaching both teams too?

message 3719: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I'm reading Letters From Home by Kristina McMorris .

message 3720: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Yes! Although, Regina has 4 kids in soccer so I shouldn't complain.

Reading Outlander - You know who just went through the stones. It's so fun reading this book again and some of the stuff that I've forgotten. I (don't read unless you've read to ABOSA) (view spoiler)

message 3721: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments I hope you like Kay - that book blew me away - she pretty much ended up on my auto-buy after that and each book just gets better

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Dee wrote: "I hope you like Kay - that book blew me away - she pretty much ended up on my auto-buy after that and each book just gets better"

Oh yay...good to know. I'm only a few chapters in. I hope to get more reading in tonight.

message 3723: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments Just don't expect a traditional romance - would be my advice

message 3724: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments Speaking of not traditional...Miracle Lane is kind of strange in a good way. We have a brain injured woman, a talking cat and an attempted murder.
It's like Harvey meets Kiki's Delivery Service.
Not the best writing but up there with the most interesting ideas.

message 3725: by Angie Elle, BaBAMB!!! (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments I am starting Bound by Night (MoonBound Clan Vampires, #1) by Larissa Ione .

message 3726: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Kay wrote: "I'm reading Letters From Home by Kristina McMorris."

I've had that book in my TBR for ages! (After a reco from you, Dee!) I should pick it up...

message 3727: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments I'm scared when I rec that book to ppl because I loved it so much, but its not a traditional romance by any means

message 3728: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments That looks so good, but heartbreaking. I may have to add that to my TBR, lol.

message 3729: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments yeah it was...but not as much as her second one - Bridge of Scarlet Leaves

message 3730: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I finished Letters From Home by Kristina McMorris and I really enjoyed it. I love the 40s time period and the lingo that goes along with it :) I did tear up in a particular scene which means a lot b/c I hardly ever do for books. I also really liked the author's voice and will read more by her.

I would like to read Bridge of Scarlet Leaves but I am so scared of sadness. Dee, does it have a happy ending? I just need to know b/c I do love those HEAs. LOL

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Finished Time After Time (Time Between Us, #2) by Tamara Ireland Stone and it was even better than book 1. I was so teary eyed by the end. This book made it to my (now very rare) 5 star club and on my favorites of all time for being the perfect love story with realistic (non-stupid/non-egotistical) characters who were easy to relate to. The feels were strong!

message 3732: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments Kay - not really...PM me off line if you want some deets...her new one (that doesn't come out until December) isn't really a romance at all, more straight up contemp/historical (alternating POV's)

The 1940's is my second-favorite decade after the 20's. I might have to check this out.

Oh yay!! I enjoyed the first one so I'm looking forward to reading it.

message 3735: by Domino (aka Meme) (new)

Domino (aka Meme) (bryghtstarr) | 173 comments finished Playing to Win and it was awesome! i loved Cole and Savannah. now i'm listening to Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward . still reading Counterpoint and i'm enjoying this one as well.

message 3736: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments Finished Miracle Lane...not an easy book to define. The writing was OK...kind of conventional but not bad. The concept of the story was pretty amazing. Wonderfully odd.

Miracle Lane (Miracle Interrupted, #3) by Edie Ramer

I started Up to the Challenge by Terri Osburn last night. And she's already hooked me. It's kind of amazing that she's only written two books. Very classy contemporary romance.

Up to the Challenge (Anchor Island, #2) by Terri Osburn

message 3737: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments I finished Morgan's Fate (True Destiny, #4) by Dana Marie Bell , which I just loved. My only gripe is that this author needs to start writing longer books.

4 kids in soccer, 2 on two teams and we started our own traveling soccer club which I am the president. LOL.

message 3739: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Stacia that looks really good! 1995 meets 2012, hmmm.

So I finished World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee and it is so amazingly good. I want to read it again, right now. 5++++++++++ I can't believe how it ends. Anyone know how long we have until #3?

message 3740: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments AH! Regina, stop rubbing it in! ;)

message 3741: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments I haven't read #1 because everyone was screaming about the cliff-hanger...now I'm worried about reading book 2...lol

AAAHHHH WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN

message 3747: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments So lucky, Regina! I'm glad it's a good one. I can't wait to re-read Angelfall in preparation for World After. I purposely haven't re-read it so that it will almost be like new again...at least I want to think that way.

message 3748: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I need to reread Angelfall too, let me know when you're going to do that Kay.

message 3749: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Will do, Leea...it will be next month. Maybe a week before release date?

message 3750: by Angie Elle, BaBAMB!!! (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments If you gals are waiting until next month, I'd like to crash if you don't mind. I haven't read this one yet, but I've been wanting to.
