Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Got my account on booklikes http://tellulahdarling.booklikes.com/ and following Stacia and Regina. Maybe we could have a thread to post our links over there to find each other? Unless that's been done, in which case, ignore me. I'm brain addled these days.

But I'm starting Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt and so excited!!

One of the best books I've read this year...I have so much love for this book.

I may start, The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1) by Robert Galbraith

I have only read her Hathaways series and loved it. Always meant to continue with her books but others keep getting in the way.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments That's a good idea, Tellulah.

We can all go post them in the Do you havea blog, website, twitter, facebook thread.

I'll go post mine now.

message 3507: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I'm in a funk. I don't feel like reading anything.

I'm re-listening to Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews . Funny how some terminology has changed since the first book...and I forgot that Slayer was a magic sword! I don't remember Kate ever mentioning again that she had to feed it!

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments I can't wait to read that one, lol. I've got to push it up my list

message 3510: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I loved The Cuckoo's Calling. I so hope it becomes a series!

message 3511: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Wendy. Want me to wait for you? We could buddy read it?

DG it looks like it going to be a series.

message 3512: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments If you've already started, you don't have to. I haven't been feeling well, so I'm only at 5% with The Shining.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Finally finished Plush by Kate Crash and it has to be one of the most bizarre books I've ever read, in a bad way. The entire book was full of extreme emoting, wandering thoughts, spaz-like moments, lots of typos, and nonsensical words. Some people are calling it brilliant. I'm thinking more along the lines of hot mess.

message 3514: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments LOL Stacia, that just sounds confusing. I always feel like the odd girl out when everyone likes a book and you're like Huh?

Wendy, I haven't started and I think I want to start something else... I'll wait for you.

message 3515: by D.G. (new)

D.G. That sounds like a bit too much, Stacia. :)

Tellulah -- Tell the Wolves I'm Home was one of my favorite reads in 2012. It is beautiful.

message 3519: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) I am loving Tell The Wolves - but given how tense I am reading it and how heartbreaking it is, I think between that and the Breaking Bad finale, I may not survive the week. Just spontaneously combust. :)

There was one scene which made me throw up in my mouth a little. The chick is so warped.

message 3521: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments I wasn't so sure if I could finish A Bad Day for Sorry (Bad Day, #1) by Sophie Littlefield if it was going to give graphic details about certain things (don't want to give anything away here), violent things. But I stuck with it because I liked how the main character is in her fifties and experiencing hot flashes. So refreshing. Finished it last night and liked it. Glad I got the next book already from the library so I've started A Bad Day for Pretty (Bad Day #2) by Sophie Littlefield . That cover reminds me of a female version of Walking Tall. Is that the name of the movie (original made in the 70s) - the guy who handed out punishment with a bat?

I think I will start In the Band (Luminescent Juliet, #1) by Jean Haus . I'm in the mood for some rock stars. Also, if anyone has any recs for rock star romances. Please send them my way.

Let me know how the Kinley Kinley MacGregor is, Kay. I've wanted to read those for a while :)

Lisa | 383 comments Lori McD wrote: "Lisa, I have A Bad Day For Mercy. I'm liking Stella!"

My library only has the first 2 of the series and I checked for the others on amazon and holy smokes, they're pricey, especially the kindle version. What's up with that? I may see if audible has them and use my credits gradually, if I can't find cheap used print versions.

Yeah, I like Stella too and I like how Goat calls her Dusty. I knew someone whose name was Dusty - was her given name and I liked it.

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) All done Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt Loved this book so much. Such beauty and heartache and ultimately affirmation of life.

I think that was one of the first romance novels I ever read way back when. I remember loving it. Let me know how it holds up!

I've read books 1-3 which were all really fun. I think you'd like it if you're looking for an HR. I'm just not feeling #4 at the moment.

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments Finished Cuckoo! Really liked it - could def see as a series

message 3537: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I finished reading In the Band (Luminescent Juliet, #1) by Jean Haus which was okay. I just haven't had any luck with New Adult books lately.

To keep with the rockstar theme, I am reading Rock Chicks by Ronni Cooper next. Maybe this one will be better for me.

message 3538: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Dee - glad you liked Cuckoo! I did, too! Hoping for more.

I was wrong about the Stella/Bad book. I have A Bad Day for Scandal (Bad Day, #3) by Sophie Littlefield , not A Bad Day For Mercy. Finishing off The Whole Enchilada (A Goldy Schulz Culinary Mystery, #17) by Diane Mott Davidson by Diane Davidson Mott, so digging into the next Stella book and Son of the Morning by Linda Howard by Linda Howard next.

I'm going to start, Accidental Cowgirl A Loveswept Contemporary Romance by Maggie McGinnis or if I can't start tonight, I may just try and start Son of the Morning by Linda Howard because i'm so slow at reading right now.

I know the feeling, Leea. I started Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale

message 3543: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I've wanted to read Flowers in the Store for such a long time. I hear it's very good.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Me too, Leea. I want to see why it was so controversial back in the day. I think it's supposed to be rape-y, but that kind of content probably wouldn't phase us after some of the dark reads we've been subjected to over the past couple of years!

Will probably finish Bound by Night (MoonBound Clan Vampires, #1) by Larissa Ione in the morning and it's not bad. There's nothing really new or great about the book, but it's decent enough for adult pnr. It reads less fluffy/cheesy than the Demonica series though, almost as if a different author was writing it.

Started Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky, #3) by Veronica Rossi and am super excited, since it's one of the books I've been anticipating the most after reading Roar and Liv.

It does read like a different author. I thought LOD was extra cheesy. Demonica had a similar sytle humor as LOD, but it worked for me in that particular series. I didn't hear Ione's voice or see her style in Bound by Night. Even her work with another writer as Sydney Croft has her touch. Maybe if it were an old backlisted book I could see it. Or maybe not. The book was okay. : /

@Samantha...Have you tried The Shadow and the Star (Victorian Hearts, #2) by Laura Kinsale ? It's very good. The samurai subplot was odd, but Laura Kinsale worked it. :)
