I'm so glad you're enjoying these as much as Wendy and I did. I was so sad that we finished and there are none coming...

Oh wow Kay... haha! I can't wait to keep reading this series.

It's so hot here today... It's going to be 90 this week, where did spring go.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments I think you stole our heat! We're still in the 40s here!

message 204: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments It's hot here today too! I took the kids to the park and it heated up quickly. Then we came home, turned on the sprinklers and the kids were having a blast running through it.

Angie, IMO the books do get better. I would stick to it. They aren't going to blow your mind or anything, but they are entertaining. These guys are smoking hot!

Thanks, Marcella. I guess Knight just didn't do it for me. LOL I'll give the next one a go! :)

message 207: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments There wasn't much action in "Knight"...don't get me wrong Knight is one hot guy...but the other ones have more of the action. As I said the stories aren't earth shattering but they kept me entertained. Did I mention the men are smoking hot? Ha ha!

I'm glad you said that, because I kept thinking there was no huge climax in this book. Aside from sexual. Lol

message 209: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments Ha ha! Knight's book was a little disappointing but I stuck with it because I really liked the characters.

This series falls flat compared to her other ones but for me the characters made it worth the effort.

The last book Raiden had me balling like a baby.

Oh, great! The only KA that had me crying so far was Lady Luck.

message 211: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments Correction...the last book is called Raid. Not sure why I keep calling it Raiden...maybe because it is his full name.

Oh geez...I remember Lady Luck...yup I was crying on that one too.

Crystal Navarro (kanarenee) I'm reading The Departed (MacKinnon Curse, #3) by J.A. Templeton but I'm taking a bit of a break because work is about to go crazy and I need to spend time with my man and have my own romance before I end up working an entire month non-stop.

message 216: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Finished our buddy read of Darkhouse (Experiment in Terror, #1) by Karina Halle and I really enjoyed it. I cannot wait to read the second book. Tomorrow i'm going to start our viking group read. I hope more are going to join us.

Why are the weekends so packed with stuff to do and sooooo short. haha!

message 221: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Starting in on Dream of Me/Believe in Me (Viking & Saxon, #1 & #2) by Josie Litton today with the Group Viking read - yay!

Waiting on EiT #2 Red Fox (Experiment in Terror, #2) by Karina Halle (Red Fox) until the end of the month for another potential buddy read.

Just finished up with Troubleshooter books 7 Flashpoint (Troubleshooters, #7) by Suzanne Brockmann and 8 Hot Target (Troubleshooters, #8) by Suzanne Brockmann this weekend. I can't help myself - I have to jump into book 9, Breaking Point (Troubleshooters, #9) by Suzanne Brockmann , because I know that Max-Gina and Molly-Jones are in it. Although I'm not so sure about this jumping-around in the plot device. It's making me a little crazy right now.

also reading Exposed (Skylar Cates)

message 232: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I finished Black Ice (Ice, #1) by Anne Stuart ...the girl was so stupid in this book but I loved the hero! Also, the sex was so hot!

I'm starting Dream of Me/Believe in Me (Viking & Saxon, #1 & #2) by Josie Litton for the group read. It will be my first Viking romance.

Crud... Kay I want to read that book, it's one of those thats been on my kindle forever. haha!

message 237: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I folded... I couldn't get Perry and Dex out of my head so i'm starting Red Fox (Experiment in Terror, #2) by Karina Halle

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I finished The Rules (Project Paper Doll, #1) by Stacey Kade and was in the middle about it. The first half was silly but the second half was a lot better/more intense. I'll probably read book 2.

Halfway through Never Have I Ever by August Clearwing and I sense a ranty review coming up when I finish. It's pretty ridiculous in parts.

Will start the viking book in the morning.

message 239: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments I've been wanting to read The Rules. I loved her Ghost and the Goth series, but was nervous about starting this one. It didn't seem to have the same light hearted feel to it that the Allona and Will books did.

Also reading Red Fox (Experiment in Terror, #2) by Karina Halle . Normally it's easy for me to break up a series, but this one has it's claws in me.

message 240: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) After the disappointment of The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3) by Richelle Mead I'm going to dive back in to the Troubleshooters series.

message 241: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Here's a question for all of you - anyone know of any good NA (I want the more mature content, more than say a Cassandra Clare book) that's UF, PNR, romantic sci-fi or fantasy? But there should be some level of romance.

message 242: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments So similar to Fever?

message 243: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Apr 23, 2013 03:10PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments There isn't a whole lot of non-contemporary romance NA out at the moment. It's still a fairly new/untapped market. The CR stuff is pretty steamy, but the limited stuff coming from other genres isn't.

The only NA PNR book I know of is Shattered Promises (Shattered Promises, #1) by Jessica Sorensen . It was originally published as a YA book The Falling Star, but the author added in some steam. But I haven't read it and the book seems to have very mixed reviews, so I don't know if it's good or bad. I read one of her NA contemps and it was decent enough but nothing exceptional.

You're almost going to have to go with adult books featuring a younger protag for the time being...something like Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent or Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Wilson maybe?

Although if you get to a point where you wouldn't mind less steam (there is a romance though), this is an awesome NA UF book Hold Me Closer, Necromancer (Necromancer, #1) by Lish McBride . It's one of the only non-contemporary NA's I know of.

message 244: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee maybe ..

message 245: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments What is NA?

message 246: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Apr 23, 2013 03:07PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Oh, I forgot about Angelfall. Penryn is 17, but because the book is a book about survival, it reads older/more like adult. Good pick, Regina.

NA (New Adult) is college age, mainly 18-22. It bridges the gap between YA and adult books. It's not a genre, but a reading level itself.

message 247: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 419 comments New adult

message 248: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments I was thinking about angelfall and maybe nominating it for a group read - since its been on my pile forever

message 249: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Yeah it's all I got. Lol.

Also The Shattered Dark (Shadow Reader, #2) by Sandy Williams but I think the heroine is 25 just still in college.

message 250: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments What the heck classifies a book as New Adult?
