Trying to catch up with all the posts I've missed.
Leea - hope your tests next week prove negative and you're fine and that you're having a memorable family camping vacation. Most of our camping trips had something happen to make it "memorable" - in some good ways and some in not-so-good ways. Those were my fav photos to scrapbook though.

Stacia - I'm wishing your mom a speedy recovery and that her health quickly improves - and that your stress will lighten.

Marcella - have a time in Hawaii! Hope it's not humid like it was when I went there in April.

Lori - thanks for the Highlander books recommendations and the price alert on one of them! I can't wait to get back in that genre.

I'm currently reading and really liking it. Not very far in though and I get angry at all the interruptions to my reading time. grrrr...

I know! I went in hoping for a romp but I'm 2/3 in and that's when they first do it! Grrr...

I was going to read a few ARC's but I can't seem to get them onto my Kindle must be the wi-fi here at our hotel. I already had loaded on my Kindle so that's what i'm going to read next.

Stacia, I really liked The Elementals series that you're starting. The 1st book wasn't the best one in that series, but I did enjoy it - enough to buy and read the rest of the series.

I haven't heard from Netgalley on , Eric's story... sure hoping that I can get the ARC. If not, I'll rely on you guys to tell me if it's good or not. I can't imagine it not being good. I've read the other Sinners' books.

Started in on - the Night Huntress series. Read the prequel, Bones' New Orleans story.

If I don't get a bunch of reviews written soon, I'll completely forget my thoughts - LOL! But I'm too busy reading and working on interviews/follow-ups these days...

Lori, I love the Night Huntress series! The characters are fun, there's great humor and some of the best sex scenes, IMO. It will definitely shoot up the heat index in your climate-controlled home, heh.

Night Huntress is a fun series but the first few books are the best. I sort of lost interest after book 5 and ended up moving on to the spin-off instead.

Maybe we can go into it right after we finish Tell the Wolves I'm home because it's published on the 6th and I like to try to get my reviews in to the publisher before the book comes out if I can.

It was like the author wasn't even trying. I had such high hopes for this series. Hope the next one redeems the series for me.

I'm reading and I have to say it's sweet but we're getting how Lake and Will met through his eyes and it just feels like an easy way to write a book. I find myself skimming a bit and enjoying the parts that are in present time. Mainly because i've read all this before in the past 2 books.

Yeah, I tend to avoid those books myself. I think Fifty Shades ruined that storyline for me.

I think the problem is I read the Crossfire series and I cannot tell a lie. I absolutely loved it. I assumed it meant I liked the plot, which in this instance I did, but I think it was the author's writing that I really liked.

I was hopeful I could find more like that, but I think I am going to have to avoid this storyline in the future.

I like reading about billionaires but I don't like the ones that are similar to Fifty Shades. I think Judith McNaught wrote some good contemporary romance about rich men but those may be outdated for some people. I also really liked Kleypas' Travis series about an oil tycoon family.

I don't understand this trend. If you love an author, why wouldn't you want something new and fresh from them as opposed to the same story through different eyes?

I feel like some readers think this will give them insight to the male mind, forgetting that it's a female writing the male POV.

I agree, Kay. I loved all of JM's books with the rich men. But she has a way of writing emotions that few authors reach.

I feel like I stepped in it. haha! I hope I didn't offend anyone. I haven't read JM's Contemps but I would consider those before 50 shades...

I also haven't read the Crossfire series Angie. I was just worried it was another book like 50, but I know a few friends who loved them.

They're not in ebook - no wonder I haven't read them lol! I'm a huge fan of JM HR books and I was just pissed she stopped writing them, but I really need to read them.
