Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I am enjoying it alot. It seems to be very close to the Harry Potter story line, but it is a popular story line -- but I am really liking it.

Yeah, it's been a long weekend. Most of it spent at the hospital. My mom had a cancerous thyroid removed. My brother is coming in to town soon and he's been giving me grief about the care of my parents, so it's going to be an interesting couple of weeks ahead.

I got Covet, but I don't know if you can wait a couple of weeks to read it? I was planning for the second week of August, probably. I am all planned out for the next couple of weeks.

How are you liking I Hunt Killers? I really liked it but can't remember much about the book, so I haven't picked up the second installment.

Kay, Feral Sins really is a lot of fun. It's closer to erotica in parts than pnr, but the humorous banter is a nice addition.

message 2203: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I can definitely wait - let me know when.

Definitely closer to erotica, probably why I liked it!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I picked up the galley of book 1 of the new vampire series by Larissa Ione (Demonica author) but I haven't been in much of regular PNR/non-UF mood lately.

Have a fantastic trip, can't wait to hear about it. I also can't wait to hear what you think of Sookie #13 and I hunt Killers.

Marcella to Hawaii for you?

We are going camping in Wisconsin. I can't wait. ;) It should be cooler than it has been, we will be boating, hiking, swimming and just hanging out!

I saw it, but am meh. I enjoyed the demonica series, but then it was predictable -- the sex was hot. Somehow, I seem to prefer erotica over PNR.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, I really feel for her and your family. I hope you're able to take some time for yourself and your brother can help care for your mom.

I'm going thru something where I have a solid mass on my Thyroid and am seeing some doctors next week to see what it is. So, I empathize with her.

I'm going to S. Lake Tahoe Tuesday- thursday with my husband for a regional meeting for his work. Fancy dinners on the companies dime - so excited!! My boys start school Friday!!

Camping...it's like thumbing your nose at 50,000 years of human development. I've done a bit of the whole lying down in the dirt and sleeping with bugs thing. lol, I wish you well, but I'm thinking this is about as close to nature as I want to get.

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments Hey ladies! I have a question...my sis is reading the Fever series and she asked me what Mac is referring to when she mentions righty or lefty. She sent me the page she was on but I couldn't figure out from the context. She thinks it has something to do with hotness. Can anyone help shed some light on the matter?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments The righty or lefty comment has to do with which way his male part hangs. I remember it being a conversation a while back in one of my other groups.

Leea wrote: "Stacia ~ Vixen of Variety wrote: "Regina wrote: "Stacia I hope your life issues get better.

Let us know how it goes, Leea. Hopefully, it's something benign and you'll breeze through with no problems!

My mom is still in ICU because there was some sort of complication causing swelling and she's unable to speak at all. She looks panicky when I try to get her to write something down.

I finished
Lost In Kakadu by Kendall Talbot and it reminded me a lot of On the Island, although I wasn't as big of a fan of the female lead. The survival parts of the story were very interesting though.

Starting Midnight Frost (Mythos Academy, #5) by Jennifer Estep

message 2227: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Stacia, sending wishes for healing and strength to your mom... sorry to hear about all of this. But glad that she had the surgery.

I've been on a Regency Romance/Cynster kick this weekend... don't know why, because Stephanie Laurens' books seem overly long and drawn-out to me. And yet, I can't seem to stop. I've worked my way through The Promise in a Kiss (Cynster Prequel) by Stephanie Laurens - Helena and Sebastian's story, Devil's Bride (Cynster, #1) by Stephanie Laurens - their son Devil (Sylvester) & Honoria's story, and now reading A Rake's Vow (Cynster, #2) by Stephanie Laurens - Vane's story. I also managed to fit in A Season For Scandal Tangled Reins & Fair Juno by Stephanie Laurens , which has 2 stories - Tangled Reins and Fair Juno. Again, I don't really understand my fascination with Ms. Laurens right now, but... what can I say?

I have a lot of reviews to catch up on.

BTW, I really LOVED KMM's Highlander series. I didn't read Fever until much later - didn't think that it was for me. Of course, I got caught up in the "fever", but I was first caught up in her Highlander stuff. I really enjoyed the 1st book, because of Adam Black. I wasn't as keen on the 2nd book, but I did enjoy it. And yeah, with the 3rd book, my interest definitely picked up. As far as Highland romances go, I was definitely into it.

But if anyone hasn't read Melissa Mayhue's Daughters of the Glen Highland series that begins with Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband (Daughters of the Glen, #1) by Melissa Mayhue , I recommend it. Don't pay too much attention to my ratings - I'm a tough rater, and a 3.5 is a good book to me. And this series integrates Fae and time travel into the whole Highland thing - very entertaining.

Anyhoo... I'm off Friday thru Sunday for a quick trip to the Utah Shakespearean Festival, so I'll be offline then. Just a quickie vacation to pick up a few plays and spend time in one of my favorite towns, surrounded by lovely plays and hunky actors.

message 2228: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments Thanks Stacia! My prayers are with you and your family.

Lori...I love KMM's Highlander series. I believe I left off on book 6. I think I stopped because I didn't have the rest and after that other books came into play. Somehow it got forgotten.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) I'm getting ready to dive into The Trouble With Fate (Mystwalker, #1) by Leigh Evans .

message 2230: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments I just started reading Geekomancy...really great idea...but seems like the author is trying a little too hard to establish his geek chic creds.

He's trying to be Grand Master Flash but he's coming across as Milli Vanilli

Still it's early yet and I really love the concept so onwards and upwards (I hope).

Geekomancy (Ree Reyes, #1) by Michael R. Underwood

Let me know what you thought of Geekomancy. I've had the book since it was a galley but never got around to reading it. One of my friends recently told me that she thought it would be something I'd like.

message 2241: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 27 comments Finished The Dex-Files (Experiment in Terror, #5.7) by Karina Halle . I loved the chapters that told us some parts of the storyline we still didn't know. The retelling ones were all shades between just ok and so so.

Although I'm eager to read Into the Hollow (Experiment in Terror, #6) by Karina Halle I'll be putting it off (I'm that masochistic) at least until I finish Roar and Liv (Under the Never Sky, #0.5) by Veronica Rossi and Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2) by Veronica Rossi

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I finished Wicked Cravings (The Phoenix Pack, #2) by Suzanne Wright . This is such a fun & sexy series. I can't wait to read more but it looks like we won't get a new book until 2014.

I hope she isn't a good friend...lol...I wouldn't wish this on anyone. It's awful. I'm very close to walking away.

You know in family guy how they make those lame pop culture references...this book is frakking all about that for gorram sake. What the frell?

Lori (lorimcd) Discovered that To Sin with a Viking (Forbidden Vikings, #1) by Michelle Willingham is on sale for a limited time at $1.99 for the Kindle version (probably other ebook versions, too).

Picked it up today - was denied the ARC on Netgalley. But decided that the price was right. And it looks like a good Viking romance.

D.G. Finished The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1) by Robert Galbraith . Awesome, awesome.

Now not sure what to read after that great ending.
