Sounds good. I just came down with a case of food poisoning or stomach flu. Not feeling too hot right now. So, I hope I'll be up for it on Wednesday.

I'll join if I get Heart of Obsidian done before then. If not, I can always join in later in the discussion thread.

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments No worries Kay! Take your time. I can start it whenever you are ready. I have plenty of books to keep me company in the meantime.

Hope you feel better!

Yes I have! *waiting as patiently as I can*

I bookmarked quite a bit, too. But I might just give it another go tomorrow (re-read) and check my bookmarks, now that I know where we end up.

I won't be able to read it for a while. Probably not until next week.

message 1658: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Feel better, Kay! *hugs*

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Hope it goes by quick, Kay!

I finished Hunted (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #6) by Kevin Hearne and it was my favorite of the series so far. There were quite a few new twists.

Lori, we don't have a topic for it, but I'll go make one, since I'd like to discuss some stuff and we can put spoilers there.

I forgot that D.G. was reading the series too. I didn't mean to leave her out.

message 1660: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Eeek! I can't wait to read that one!

message 1661: by D.G. (last edited Jun 25, 2013 07:20AM) (new)

D.G. LOL, no worries, Stacia. You didn't leave me out! I'm crazy about the audios so I had to wait until today to download it. I already have it and may start it next...

I'll definitely stop by the thread and comment.

message 1662: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments I may join in that thread also. Have been an IDC fan for the past year. LOVE the audio, especially snugglepumpkin's voice ;)

message 1663: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Love, love, love this book! I'm partial to the 1st book, since it hooked me. But Hunted (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #6) by Kevin Hearne is definitely my next fav book in the series. I responded to your thoughts in that thread and put a few of my own. Wondering what you think about a couple of the events in the book.

D.G., Kay, Wendy, Lisa - it's a GREAT book! Lots happens and, IMO, lots of surprises and new twists. Snugglepumpkin is pretty amazing in this book; he can always get me!

I need to come up with a review and post it - here, Booklikes, Amazon, and Netgalley. The ARC and this published version don't seem all that different to me. But I have to look at the quotes I marked and compare them.

Reading the Forever Fae series and in book 2 Betrayals of Spring (Forever Fae, #2) by L.P. Dover . I don't know why I'm reading them, because the books aren't all that great... but, somehow I am.

Have Secret Sister by Emelle Gamble on deck along with Dream of Time by Nancy J. Price .

message 1664: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) BTW, Booklikes is OK... I do like the blog feature. I can easily tag my own reviews to get a URL that I can remember. But, it's just not all that intuitive a GUI. I find myself frustrated a lot.

I've had to send them 2 emails to get some answers on how to do things. To be fair, they answered quickly.

message 1665: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 159 comments I finished A Bride by Moonlight (Fraternitas Aureae Crucis, #4) by Liz Carlyle which I really liked, though at times it got pretty confusing, especially the many characters. Might look for more by this author.

Going to start Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh .

message 1666: by Leea, Escape Artist (last edited Jun 25, 2013 11:48AM) (new)

Leea | 1437 comments look what's out today...

Into the Light by Ellen O'Connell http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...

Who want's to read it with me? Maybe next week sometime?

message 1667: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments @ Courtney - I've been wanting to try Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh and that series so checked out the prices. Because of the covers, I'd want to get it in ebook but the price is more than the paper version, especially if I can find it used. I hate that! Perhaps the mail-order library has it.

message 1668: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 159 comments Lisa - Haha, I was JUST thinking that when I brought it out from my shelf. I was like...."Man, this cover..." And that's crazy how the ebook is more than the hard copy.

The covers are kinda hot but I'd still be embarrassed to take out in public. Should I not care? Oh, and then the title...eek...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Those covers are awful. I hear it's a good series though.

message 1671: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments It's one of those books that's been on my TBR shelf for forever... I do hear it's a great series.

message 1674: by D.G. (last edited Jun 25, 2013 12:12PM) (new)

D.G. The American covers of the Psy-Changeling series are awful! The British ones are so much better...

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh

message 1675: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments Oh my. Yes, that one is SO much better! Are British versions available in the U.S. you think? Last time I bought a book overseas, my bank cancelled my cc and issued a new one due to "suspicious activity" and I realized it was my fault. Geez.

Yep, you're absolutely right, Leea. I may have to fork out the extra pesos for an eversion :)

D.G. Lisa wrote: "Oh my. Yes, that one is SO much better! "

When you see that cover, you get a more accurate impression of the series: Dark with dangerous dudes!

The other one looks like he's in a strip club in a haze of smoke.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments ...and there's probably glitter at that club.

message 1679: by D.G. (new)

Coupled with that title and it's misleading of its content...maybe.

How about this German version? I think it's German. Leopardenblut (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh

I found the British copy avail in a U.S. bookstore but it's pricey. I wonder if the wording is a little different, using English expressions?

message 1681: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments My frustration with Booklikes is there's no seachengine (that I can find) to locate a book on your own shelf to review or change it to curently reading.

I love the Psy-Changeling series. It was confusing at first with all the scientific terms but you get used to it.

D.G. Marcella wrote: "I love the Psy-Changeling series. It was confusing at first with all the scientific terms but you get used to it. "

LOL, the same happened to me, Marcella. I remember not being very clear on what a Cardinal was.

message 1684: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments All the techno talk was confusing but after reading the context around the terms I was able to figure it out.

I am still not sure I know what a Cardinal is D.G. Ha ha!

message 1685: by D.G. (last edited Jun 25, 2013 01:58PM) (new)

D.G. OMG!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

From what I understand, Cardinals are off the scale in the Psychic gradient. So normal Psy are usually graded in a scale from 1-10 on their particular psychic power (Telekinesis, Telepathy, etc.) but Cardinals are higher than that, and their power is so high as to be unmeasurable.

ETA: For those of you who haven't read the series, this is not a spoiler more of a definition. :)

message 1686: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments Oh I get it now. Good explanation D.G. You should do a book of Psy-Changelings for Dummys. Lol!

message 1687: by D.G. (new)

D.G. LOL, I'm not so sure! Even with the descriptions, I can't imagine how the Cardinal eyes look like.

message 1688: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments The way I picture it is the eyes of the demons on the show Supernatural. All black.

message 1689: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I don't watch that show, LOL! But maybe I should google it.

message 1692: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I agree about Booklikes Wendy, it has limited function.

Kay -- I hope you feel better!!

Leea, Kay and Angie I will join you to read

Into the Light by Ellen O'Connell next week.

I briefly started Come Alive (Experiment in Terror, #7) by Karina Halle but I have been working every night until 1am, and likely will tonight and tomorrow (with a brief break for softball and baseball games) -- so I am only into the first chapter. I probably won't be able to read until Thursday night or Friday.

message 1693: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Thanks for the well wishes everyone! I was so sick yesterday and could barely get out of bed. It must have been a 24 hour thing b/c I feel much better today.

Marcella, I'm still ready to start Heart of Obsidian tomorrow.

I will join you gals on the Into the Light, Ellen O'Connell book. Looking forward to it :)

Glad you're feeling better Kay!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Finished World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks and eh. I liked the movie better.

Started Haze (The Rephaim, #2) by Paula Weston

message 1699: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I finally finished Under the Dome... I wrote and lame review but i'm so tired of reading this book and I just didn't like the ending.

Now i'm moving on to our Group Read, Sins & Needles (The Artists Trilogy, #1) by Karina Halle I cannot wait to chat with you guys about it. Sorry it's taken me so long to get to it.

message 1700: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I finished Wallbanger by Alice Clayton , which had some funny moments but needed some editing. It was like 100 pages too long.

Now I'm solely reading The Bitter Kingdom (Fire and Thorns, #3) by Rae Carson .
