That's too bad. Do you think you will finish it?

Let me know when you are going to read Hears of Obsidian. I would love someone to read it with. I am a huge fan of this series and I didn't think anyone else liked this series.

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments IF that makes sense ....... :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Finished The Girl in 6E by Alessandra Torre and was torn on what to think. It was pretty entertaining but one thing about the resolution bothered me for being extremely unrealistic, which made me dock massive rating points, even though I blazed through the book because it had a lot going on.

Re-reading Shadows (The Rephaim, #1) by Paula Weston and am in a happy, giddy place. I knew that I loved the book the first time but reading it again is so much fun. I can't believe not many people have read this because it's one of my favorites and I think it deserves more attention. It's right up there for me with Angelfall.

Searock | 10 comments Awesome, Ace. That's a rare, wonderful thing to experience in a book. Yay!

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Regina...makes perfect sense. I will wait to hear your thoughts when you're done.

Marcella, when are you free to read it? I'm thinking next week sometime.

I just saw that S.E. Hinton will have a Q&A on goodreads. I loved The Outsiders so it'll be interesting to hear what she's been up to. http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1...

Stacia, I might go see Veronica Rossi this evening. My husband said he'll watch the kids. So, if nothing crazy comes up, I will be there.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Searock wrote: "Awesome, Ace. That's a rare, wonderful thing to experience in a book. Yay!"

For me, it's super rare. I feel like there's hardly anything unique these days, so I tend to latch on to something hard when it ticks all of my boxes. And it doesn't hurt that Rafa is yummy.

That sounds like fun Kay. Are you going to get pics?

message 1359: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I'm going to try to take pics. I don't want to look like a crazy fan girl. LOL I just love Aria & Perry. She's signing with other authors too so I don't know if there will be a Q&A or not. http://www.booksinc.net/event/ransom-...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Aria and Perry are so cute together. And I think Roar is great too.

I see the author from Shatter Me will be there as well. I have debated about reading the series. It seems to be a huge hit or miss for people, with no real middle ground.

message 1361: by Kay (last edited Jun 11, 2013 02:13PM) (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Yes, I'm also curious about Shatter Me. The majority of my GR friends rated it 4-5 Stars but 3 popular GR users I follow rated it 1-2 Stars.

Oh...did you all see that Angelfall book 2 is available for preorder? http://www.susanee.com/blog/2013/06/p... Also, it will be released Nov 19! Woo!

message 1367: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments Having finished Smarty Bones A Sarah Booth Delaney Mystery by Carolyn Haines and Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple I found an accidental common sub-plot, but I won't give anything away here. It's just kinda weird in a fun way. I loved both books, BTW, especially the Bernadette audiobook. Now I'm starting the audio version My Life as a White Trash Zombie (White Trash Zombie, #1) by Diana Rowland and really liking it. The Iron Druid Chronicles author Kevin Hearne raved about this series and I like some zombie books (the ones I've read so far, anyway). Plus, the cover is eye-catching.

message 1369: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Finished The Diviners (The Diviners, #1) by Libba Bray I'm a sucker for stories set in the 20s but this was almost a bit too much. The lingo got a little wearisome at times. I enjoyed it but I'm not sure I'm going to read the next book. I think I'd have to see which characters feature more prominently.

I just can't see to get into anything. I start a book and get about 10% in and then I start finding excuses not to read it. I am 2 books behind on my reading goal for the year. Nothing is interesting me right now for some reason.

I guess I just need something different!

message 1375: by Ian (last edited Jun 11, 2013 10:51PM) (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments I just started Where'd You go Bernadette. I don't usually like it when authors use a lot of letters and e-mails in a novel, but in this one it's done so cleverly that it's working for me. The writing reminds me a little of Melina Marchetta (Saving Francesca and On the Jellicoe Road)...not sure why.

@Lisa...I love the White Trash Zombie books. Can't wait for the 3rd in the series to arrive.

Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple

Eleanor & Park (by Rainbow Rowell)
Daughter of Smoke & Bone (by Laini Taylor)

Well since you are in this rut I recommend trying out the m/m genre. It is something completely different than what you normally read. Maybe this is what you need to get back in the groove.

message 1378: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Switching genres always works for me when I'm stuck.

message 1379: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Three things work for me. Different genre, back to old comfort read (genre or favorite book) or take a break from reading altogether. I hope you find something that works.

I hear ya! I've been feeling the same way. I think I've been devouring too many series books lately.

Could just be summer - heat, sun, all that. Makes me long for vacation.

Here are some pics I posted on my page:

I'm still working my way through Into the Hollow (Experiment in Terror, #6) by Karina Halle . Perry & Dex are just a hot mess. I hope they can work it out eventually.

message 1385: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Great pictures! I need to read that book, I just keep forgetting!

I know I said months ago that Maroon Five's One More Night described the couple in Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack, #1) by Suzanne Wright but I think it really fits Dex and Perry.

message 1386: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Thanks, Regina.

I can see that with One More Night and Dex & Perry!

I still need to read Feral Sins.

Feral Sins was a great book. I was disappointed with book 2 in the series. Not as entertaining.

Thanks for sharing. I get to live vicariously through you. :)

Feral Sins was fun. Not a lot of plot outside of the sex, but the banter is great. I liked book 2 fine, even though it was for different reasons.

Starting Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers with Anna and Searock.

Wow - that just made Dex and Perry even hotter for me. Does that make me totally twisted? (really hoping I'm not alone here...)

Lisa | 383 comments Leea wrote: "Can't wait to see what you think of white trash zombies? It's been on my TBR list for a long time..."

I LOVED it!!! It's a different kind of zombie book. A possible new genre - Southern Zombie Mystery Romance. The audio is excellent with many LOL moments. I quickly snatched up book 2 of the series.

@Ian - I'll be joining you soon on waiting for book 3, after I zoom thru book 2, which I'm just starting.

Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues (White Trash Zombie, #2) by Diana Rowland

Can't wait to hear how you like Where'd You Go, Bernadette!

message 1391: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Has anyone heard of http://booklikes.com/ ? It's suppose to be like goodreads meets tumbler. I'm just curious about it and wonder if anyone knows anything about it.

@Kay - No, I've never heard of that site before seeing your link.

message 1394: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Kay, never heard of it but it's got a better look than GR... Looks nice. I just can't change from GR.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I'd heard of it, Kay. I'm so invested in GR now that the thought of using a second site seems pointless.

It does look nicer graphically though.

Did a quick read of Epilogue (The Dark Duet, #3) by C.J. Roberts which was the follow up to the Dark Duet (captive in the dark). I felt it sort of unnecessary because I don't like seeing the domestic side of couples after they get together, but there were some smoking hot sex scenes, I will admit.

message 1396: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I think that's why I haven't picked up Epilogue because I liked how it all ended in Seduced in the Dark.

message 1397: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jun 12, 2013 10:27PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments It's definitely only worth the read for someone who is obsessed or can't get enough. Otherwise, I think skipping it is best. I found myself skimming the non-sex scenes.

message 1398: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Yeah, I'm way invested in GR too. However, I ended up signing up and I'm waiting for my goodreads books to import...so I'll see how it goes.

I haven't read book 2 of Captive in the Dark yet. I still need to get to that one day.

message 1399: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I have tried Amazon's discussion boards, Shelfari (which is also amazon), and librarything -- and I just don't like any of them like GR. But I will still sign up. ;)
