Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Or are you? :)

My psychic abilities are telling me you're leaning toward an MC romance.

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments You're like a super duper seer! ;)

I switched to Vicious Cycle (Vicious Cycle, #1) by Katie Ashley . There was nothing wrong with the book I'd started - I'm just not in the mood for it right now.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Hahahaha! I should have my own show 'Metro-City Psychic'.

Reading The Bourbon Kings (The Bourbon Kings, #1) by J.R. Ward

I'm dying to read that one, Wendy! How is it so far?

message 7205: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Pretty good actually! I really like it. I really like the family dynamics.

message 7211: by Domino (aka Meme) (new)

Domino (aka Meme) (bryghtstarr) | 173 comments listening to Exquisite Trouble (Iron Horse MC, #1) by Ann Mayburn . not as good as the Undeniable or Reapers MC series. but, thought i would give another MC series a chance since these two series don't have new bks out.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 67 comments I keep thinking I should try some more MC books to see what else is out there.

The only MC books I've read that I liked were from Joanna Wylde and Madeline Sheehan. I've tried others, but there is just no character growth or plot development. They seem very xyz-ish when it comes to formula.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 67 comments Yeah, the few I've read just don't develop enough. Or the girl is being kidnapped by the guy.

message 7215: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments I'm reading Uprooted which is amazing but I kind of don't know where to put it. I bought a copy for my 14 year old god daughter....but I'm completely hooked. I don't know if it's a book for young readers, a book for adults or something else.

Uprooted by Naomi Novik

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments I'm glad to see you are enjoying it, Ian. I'll be reading that one soon. The Australian cover is interesting. I hadn't seen it before now.

I am reading The Bourbon Kings (The Bourbon Kings, #1) by J.R. Ward .

That looks good! It sounds similar to The Hollow Kingdom (The Hollow Kingdom Trilogy, #1) by Clare B. Dunkle , which is a good book.

Right now I'm reading Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2) by Veronica Rossi .

I like it so far. It's been compared to prime time soap operas from the past like Dynasty, and I see that in what I've read.

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments I finished The Bourbon Kings (The Bourbon Kings, #1) by J.R. Ward , and I loved it! I'm moving on to The Veil (Devil's Isle, #1) by Chloe Neill .

message 7222: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments i'll be interested in your thoughts on the Veil - I love CLV, but her other YA series is a bit ehhh...

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 67 comments I'm really looking forward to The Veil.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I'm on a mission to finally start finishing up series that I started forever and a day ago, since sticking with a series is something that I've always been horrible at.

I swore that I would never go back to the Midnight Breed series but since I've been having BDB withdrawals, I figured I'd start over again with the series that's probably the most similar, so I've been working my way through MB (starting book 10 now).

I'm also back to the Beyond series and will probably start Beyond Addiction (Beyond, #5) by Kit Rocha in a day or two.

message 7225: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments i have soooo many series in progress...i'm scared to look

message 7226: by Angie Elle, BaBAMB!!! (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments I finished The Veil, and I really liked it. I read the first in her other series a while ago, but it didn't make me want to read the rest of the series. Having read the two, her writing has improved a lot IMO.

I'm going to work on finishing Rising Fire (Stone Circles, #1) by Terri Brisbin next.

message 7229: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) After almost a month of not reading which was crazy, I dove back in with Magic Shifts (Kate Daniels, #8) by Ilona Andrews and I'm wondering if I read the same book as everyone else. I love Kate and that series is one of my favs but I found the action relentless to the point that I had a headache when it was over and also felt like it was at the expense of more character dynamics.

Also read What He Left Behind by L.A. Witt which was much better than I expected and Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist! by Kay Marie which muscled past my initial concerns of "OMG I'm an early twenties virgin and I get panic attacks" (I feel like I've read a bunch of those) to be very funny, sweet and incredibly entertaining.

message 7230: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments honestly i was kind of disappointed in the last Kate book - i mean, it will still better than 90% of stuff out there, but it just felt ehhh

message 7231: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I am plowing through the Aurora Teagarden series by Charlaine Harris and absolutely loving it. I am now listening to the last published Poppy Done to Death (Aurora Teagarden Mystery, #8) by Charlaine Harris I am excited that Harris has announced she will write two more Ro Teagarden books. I just love these books.

I can't wait to read Magic Shifts (Kate Daniels, #8) by Ilona Andrews it is what I am supposed to be reading right now. I loved the one before it.

message 7232: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Glad I'm not alone, Dee. And Regina, totally agree about the previous book. I'd been raving to everyone how brilliantly Ilona Andrews keeps this series going. Anyway, interested to hear your thoughts once you've read it.

message 7233: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) If you're looking for m/m romance - Him by Sarina Bowen was excellent.

message 7234: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I just finished Badger by C.M. McKenna It was very intense. I am reading Magic Shifts (Kate Daniels, #8) by Ilona Andrews but I also have up and am conflicted about starting Swerve by Vicki Pettersson Breakout (Dred Chronicles, #3) by Ann Aguirre

message 7238: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments No I never did, should I before I read HIM?

message 7239: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Regina wrote: "No I never did, should I before I read HIM?"

Nope, there's no connection between them. It's just an excellent m/m hockey romance that Sarina Bowen wrote. It's the one that got me into her writing.

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments I am starting All Lined Up (Rusk University, #1) by Cora Carmack in audio. I've had my eye on this series for a while, so I'm excited to read it!

message 7243: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Succubus Blues -- that series is great! I loved it.

I am very skeptical of Bourban Kings, or anything by Ward. Tellulah what did you like about it?

It was a contemporary spin on the 80s dysfunctional family dynasty stories - the epic rich people behaving badly and I found it a lot of fun. Plus gorgeous world building. Very vivd.

message 7245: by Angie Elle, BaBAMB!!! (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments I thought the world building in The Bourbon Kings was gorgeous, too. That part of the book felt so lush to me.

I am reading Claimed (Outlaws, #1) by Elle Kennedy , and I didn't expect it to be so hot!

message 7248: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments Currently reading Virtuous Scoundrel by Maggie Fenton which is quite a hoot. If you like Regency Romps, it's worth the effort although it might be worth starting at the beginning The Dukes Holiday.

I'm also reading Alpha Unleashed by Aileen Erin which is YA goodness about werewolves and witches and the like. Pretty good fun.

Virtuous Scoundrel (The Regency Romp Trilogy Book 2) by Maggie Fenton Alpha Unleashed (Alpha Girl, #5) by Aileen Erin
