Leea | 1437 comments Ian, did you finish Outlander?

I'm still working on Written in Red and enjoying it! Very creative and well written. There are so many great characters in this book. I hope to finish tonight so I can start the next book in the series tomorrow. I've been seriously slacking on my ARC's ha!

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments re: Outlander I took a couple of days off to finish another book... I should finish it tonight.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I have my little cases for the cigars still. :)

Finished Panic by Lauren Oliver . That was one crazy game. Very sorority/fraternity hazing to the extreme.

Started Hero (Hero, #1) by Leighton Del Mia . I really hate this cover because it doesn't show that the book is about a man who is a superhero by day, and possibly twisted (there's dub con in the book I think?) by night. It's hard to wrap my brain around a superhero who kidnaps the woman he's been stalking. But I'm curious to see how this goes.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Started Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop and starting Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn , a BR with Stacia.

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) I'm either waiting on releases this month or waiting for holds at the library. I have nothing to read now. *grumble grumble*

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments I started Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop , too!

Regina, I left my phone at home on accident, which really stinks. I feel so disconnected, lmao. And I have a landline right next to me. Anyway, wasn't sure if you sent a text but wanted to let you know just in case you did, I'm not ignoring you, haha.

Leea | 1437 comments Reading Murder of Crows... To chap 5 and I already love the flow and shorter chapters. Lol.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Leea wrote: "Reading Murder of Crows... To chap 5 and I already love the flow and shorter chapters. Lol."

Ditto. Fast-paced, tighter, increased tension. I'm at ch. 11, have other things to do, but...just one more chapter.

Leea | 1437 comments Regina wrote: "I am starting the audio of Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop"

How is the audio?

Looks like a few of us are reading the same book, can't wait to hear what everyone things of it.

message 5663: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I am still at the beginning and hope to get more into it today. I hate how angry Simon always is.

message 5664: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments I think I just love grumpy men, hahahaha. I find it endearing for some reason. Very wolfy.

message 5665: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Just finished Shock & Awe (Sidewinder, #1) by Abigail Roux More Cut & Run characters. It's a novella that's all about the sex. And I had no problem with that. I really enjoyed reading this Kelly/Nick story. My only gripe is that $3.99 for 100 pages is a bit much.

message 5666: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I read a lot of Murder of Crows today. I wish I could have finished it. 79%, So i'll finish in the morning for sure.

Kay, I'll start out buddy read later in the afternoon. :)

message 5667: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I'll start tomorrow night, Leea.

I'm currently reading an ARC Flying by Megan Hart . I don't know how I feel about it yet.

message 5668: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I have that arc too. haha! I'm so far behind on my arcs it's just sad.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I almost requested that Hart book. I like the idea of a woman having lots of casual sex because it's not always the man who's sexually adept or free. It's something I've written about myself. But I was nervous that it would almost come off as too many short stories like how Broken was (which only halfway worked for me).

You'll have to let us know how that turns out.

I'm on my way into Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and it's starting to hit a good stride after a shaky start.

Hero (Hero, #1) by Leighton Del Mia is turning out to be all about a Batman-like hero who is just bat-shit crazy. I was wanting to like this book so much because the idea was something I hadn't read before (a superhero with an evil side), but I keep putting the book down to write ranty status updates and I'm barely past halfway. I don't know if I'll be able to push through or not. We'll see in the morning.

You really need a snack. Something to keep your energy up.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments At least you didn't suggest anything with butter.

It's bedtime here, so the snack will have to wait until I'm on a reading sprint tomorrow.

Finished Murder of Crows, Leea. Loved it! I'm not sure if I'll write a review. First, I'm going to snoop around Anne Bishops website and see what she has planned for the series. ;)

I'm only 25% in but so far...it's been like the "short stories" feel in Broken. But I do like the author's writing style and can't wait to get into what is really happening with the tortured heroine.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Leea. Regarding The Others series...
"I’ve just finished writing the third book in the series. It went to my editor the other day, so it doesn’t have an official title yet. Will there be more beyond that? I’m playing with some possibilities of what might follow the events in book 3. I’ll present those to my agent and editor soon."

-Anne Bishop, interview with The Reading Cafe.http://www.thereadingcafe.com/catchin...

If this series was intended as a trilogy, the events in book 3 must be too juicy not to continue. Readers + Sales = Book 4 ;)

message 5693: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Ah! I can not wait for book 3!

message 5694: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Bless you Anna :) Thanks for the information. Oh man she finished writing it already, does this mean we don't have to wait a year? Oh please let that be true.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Leea wrote: "Bless you Anna :) Thanks for the information. Oh man she finished writing it already, does this mean we don't have to wait a year? Oh please let that be true."

That was my first thought, Leea. It would be too good to be true. For all we know the book could be going through major editing.

There aren't any more interviews to be found ATM. Bishop's website hasn't any more information to share. I'll just tell myself that book 3 will release next spring, then feel pleasantly surprised if it come out earlier.

If you look at her Dark Jewels series it originally started as a trilogy. Perhaps a Sanguinati will feature in a spin-off. What about Tess, Leah, or Vlad? Prolly not Skippy. Lol

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Finished Hero (Hero, #1) by Leighton Del Mia . My brain wants to go into shut-down mode now in order to protect itself. Sigh.

Anna, I will go full force on Gone Girl in the morning, now that I have no other distractions (it actually felt good to knock out the last couple of paragraphs of that ridiculous book just to sweep it away). I had a migraine for most of the day and spent a lot of my time in bed sleeping and surfing GR on my phone.

Leea | 1437 comments How are you ladies liking Gone Girl?

Anna - Ha! Skippy :)

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Leea wrote: "How are you ladies liking Gone Girl?

So far, so good! Once the Murder of Crows hangover passes - late nights, strained eyes, little sleep - I can focus on Gone a Girl again. :)

RE: Skippy
You never know! Those cookies seemed to help!

Aha! I've had a headache today too. Very sluggish and unmotivated to read. Tomorrow! Now I better get some shut eye.
