Hey all, my name is M.C. Lavocat, author of the first ever PRC (as far as I know anyway).

I live in the bayou state (Louisiana, of course) and before you ask...yes, I actually do live on a bayou. No, I don't hunt alligators. I keep them as pets. :)

Donna (donnahawk) | 3 comments Ooooh Ooooh pick me!! pick me!!! No, wait, I'm here already, right? Hello. My name is Donna Hawk. I've been addicted to... wrong thread, isn't it? Sorry! I live in a little tiny spot in SE Kansas. I've never written PRC but I sure can read it. You wrote an awesome book and I will use it as my funny guidelines! MC, you are truly one of a kind. ;^D

Awww, you're the best! Thanks for joining the group, Donna! Hopefully we can get some more people to join us. I'm going to create some bookshelves for traditional PNR books, so you can go ahead and post your book up there

Donna (donnahawk) | 3 comments Ok, but mine isn't funny at all. I wish it was. Well, I guess she says a few funny things. Ok, if you think it's good enough... Yay!!

I'll create another shelf and add it...

Donna (donnahawk) | 3 comments Okay, that'd be fine. I was adding, but truly, it won't crack anyone up like yours. Yours is one of a kind!! ;^)

Gail Koger (gailkoger) | 10 comments I also write paranormal romantic comedies and science fiction romantic comedies. There aren't very many of us. Most paranormal romances are DARK and whiny.

Gail

I agree wholeheartedly! Another, although less often shared, motto I have: Some people should be smacked daily. :D

Gail Koger (gailkoger) | 10 comments Yeah, I worked 9-1-1 for many years and I wanted to smack people on a daily basis

Sharon Stevenson | 1 comments I totally agree with the comments in this thread - a good sense of humour is a bad thing to waste!

Well about me - I write modern fantasy / supernatural books with a dark sense of humour! I like my books dark and funny so I mostly read urban fantasy. I don't read a lot of Paranormal Romance, mainly because I prefer adult content and a lot of them seem to be YA, plus usually they have no sense of humour. That said, there are always exceptions!

Paranormal Romantic Comedy sounds like a genre I could get into :)

Looking forward to reading M.C.'s book at the weekend!

Yeah, I worked as a mental health counselor in the prison system for a while...I became a jaded misanthrope. On the upside, I think it is exposure like that that helps to develop a good sense of humor in some. You can't help but learn to take life less seriously.

Glad to meet you Sharon! I actually created a folder for it, but haven't had a chance to start any threads. I love the dark humor found in many urban fantasy novels...I bet there are several that can be classified as Comedic Urban Fantasy (I'm getting pretty good at creating new genres).

message 17: by Monica (new)

Monica (monicav) I love to read romantic comedies and also really enjoy a good PRC comedy. I'm a Gail Koger fan and I'm picking up M.C.'s book today and checking it out. Sounds like total fun!

Nickie Cochran (nickiecochran) | 1 comments Hi all, just found this group and was very excited that there are some like-minded folks around here, then my heart sank when I saw the last posts were from last year... (wiping away tears).

So I'm shouting out into the empty hallways...

Anyway, my name's Nickie and I love to read and write paranormal romantic comedies. Figured I was the only one in the genre until I found you ladies. ;-)

Patti (pfurlano) | 4 comments It is so good to be among friends...weird friends, but friends nonetheless. Dark humor, is there any other kind? I agree much of PNR takes itself waaaaaay too seriously, or is YA (yawn). Love the books that have been recommended, have put them on my to read list. Keep up the great work!

Sharon Anderson (goodreadscomsharon_anderson) | 2 comments Thought it was little ol' me in this category! So glad to meet you all =)
I'm Sharon E Anderson - and in process of publishing my first prc novel - and I'm scared to death to promote it here because I already used up all the Kleenex in the house over the weekend! #nomocryin
