I was recently reading a blog post from this girl named Bethany. She said that she has only read 3 books that have a character named Bethany and all three books depict Bethany as being a "bad" person. And she was furious. So I was wondering if anyone has ever read a book where their name was a character of someone you didn't like. I have not found any book character with my name and spelled the same way. If anyone has, I would love for you to message me and tell me. Post the book(s) your name was found in and what you did or didn't like about the character named after you.

Good question, Lacee! Yes, I have read books where a character has a name that has negative connotations for me. Can't recall the details, sorry. It did take some effort to overcome my bias but I was able to do it. I was actually written into a book as a small-role supporting character and the author used a period appropriate version of my name. I was an "ex-mistress" to the hero! Very fun.
I have an extremely common name that is spelled a ton of different ways, although my spelling isn't the most common. I never take it personally if a character happens to have one of those versions and is nasty.
My name is Mary (spelled Mari) and they are always pure and bland. I'd like to get in trouble every so often!
my name was not very popular before a couple of years ago and have yet to find a book that has my name in it at all, or isn't a little girl. I have seen the name lacee in a few books but cannot remember the names of the novels. however it was spelt Lacey.

All the Steph's, Stephi's, and Stephanie's I have come across been have mean and horrible, or suck-ups. I don't like to think that I am mean, most people say I'm rather nice. I haven't come across many though, probably only one or two. I hate it though when someone else abuses my name, its like I let you use my name, but you turn the character into a nightmare, not happy! But at least for me, Steph isn't that common, if I was called Jess or Sarah or something of that ilk, I would be having a tantrum about name abuse every other night!
Since Stephanie is my sister's name, and I love her to pieces, I promise if I use the name to make her a wonderful person, Stephi! ;)
I don't recall anyone with my name off the top of my head. I don't know that I'd care if they were bad girls or not, though. I mean, it's my name, but it isn't me. Now, if someone I knew used my name and made her insufferable, I might take it personally. LOL
Erin! My friend, Diana Ballew, named her last heroine Erin in her second book, Immortal Prey. It's also the name of our other friend and author Erin McCauley (that's how Diana picked the name )!
My name is Rebecca, and is the title of a book with a truly awful person named Rebecca in it. Daphne du maurier's Rebecca is a woman who is malicious and fake, carries on multiple affairs, including one with her cousin, and is eventually killed by her husband. Fail.
