Coming up in September, I will be publishing a sequel to my last novel, Spettra, which has been rated five stars. The premise for Spettra is simple in the big picture, but complex when you look at the details. It takes what you think about heaven or hell, and morphs it into something much more infinite.
Spettra is one of many different realms, but it is the one that has connected with Earth. In the first book, a woman who is terribly crippled, begins to see and feel another world in her dreams. She becomes absorbed by it, as does her husband.
Then they are haunted by it...

A man woke up to the sounds of equipment buzzing and people shouting. They came from beside him, over top of him, and echoing down the halls of the large building where he lay.
It was a hospital. That was where his body was. However his mind was awaking from a place much further away from earth than physically possible.
“He’s waking up! Andrea! Call Captain Warren!” A male voice bellowed above him as he felt someone grab his arm, and insert an IV needle into the soft skin between his elbow and forearm.
“I’m on it! But umm… what do I tell him?”
Andrea, the nurse the man had been yelling at, replied from the other side of the bed. Most likely near the door, but the man had not yet opened his eyes to see for sure. She could have been waiting to jump out the window for what he knew, and at the present moment, he didn’t know very much at all.
“Tell him Jack Reed is awake. Warren wants to come see him as soon as he wakes up.”
The man, who must have been his Doctor, commanded the nurse. However, he couldn’t remember ever having a doctor and he didn’t recognize the voice; just as much as he didn’t recognize his own name when the doctor spoke it.
“On it.” The nurse replied, and the man heard her footsteps leaving the room, fading out into the white noise of the busy hospital hallway.
“Whur…”
The man tried to open his mouth to speak, but his words slurred through the dry and cracked skin around his lips. His mouth felt dirty. His teeth were fuzzy and a warm sour sensation filled the inside of his mouth making it tingle.
“Take it easy. Just one step at a time. Can you open your eyes?” The doctor beside him was speaking directly to him now. His voice was soft and almost as low as a whisper.
With a little effort, the man found he was able to do as the doctor asked. He pushed open his eye lids that were also crusty and they felt like they had been glued shut with brick-mud, as if his whole face had been covered in it while he slept.
The blinding white light of the fluorescent lighting was the first thing the man could see, peering through the cracks of his eyelids, and it made him immediately close them again.
“Ugh…” He grunted, not sure what to say, and a little annoyed to be awake.
It reminded him of the days before he had begun working for the street gangs as a teenager, back when his mother used to wake him up for school and before she got deep into her crack addiction. It seemed back then that no matter how badly he needed to be awake, all he wanted to do was go back to bed for eternity. At that present moment, he felt the same way.
“Easy now. Open up your eyes, I know the lights a bit bright but they’ll adjust.” The Doctor spoke again.
It sounded like they were the only two in the room. Nurses were still talking and yelling down the hallway just outside of it.
Where exactly am I? What the hell happened?
He forced open his eyes, and cringed as he let the hot pain of the bright lights fill them as they adjusted. Then he was able to focus on the checkerboard ceiling tiles that sat above his bed, and the young bald doctor that was leaning over top of him with a slight grin across his face.
“Try again to speak, can you tell me your name?” The doctor said, and the man already felt like decking him.
He had just woken up after god-knew-how-long, and already this doctor wanted him to do jumping jacks and sing.

Free Alec Fincham novella 29/8/2014 and 30/8/2014It’s a novella and runs to 45500 words, so it’s just a little short of a book and runs to around 140 pages.
The new story is called Mongoose Variation
Alec Fincham is told that Kristina von Priller is not only still alive, but wants to carry out dastardly plan.
She wants to set the Arab nations and Israel at each other’s throats, simply to inflate the price of oil. If Israel is destroyed in the process, then so much the better.
This story sees the return of Kristina von Priller, who first appeared in Fried Fox and English Rat. However, you don’t have to read them both and they can be read as stand alone stories.

When I was having quote graphics designed I went for a cartoon vibe because the main characters are nerds, there's a lot of references to superheroes and stuff, so I used all the characters I'd had created in the video too.
