I continued reading A Burnable Book
by Bruce Holsinger yesterday. I also started and finished reading Silent Night: A Spenser Holiday Novel
by Helen Brann and Robert Parker and Tequila Mockingbird: Cocktails with a Literary Twist
by Tim Federle
Lol Dawn. XD I wish I could read as fast as a book a day. Too many distractions. I want to do everything all at once to cram in holiday stuff. The book I'm reading now is Written In Red by Anne Bishop.
Lol, this is one of the greatest joys of being retired. If I want to read I do. I kind of split this series and read when I had downtime and listened if I was running around
So, one of my retirement ideas a few years ago was to open a used book store on the Oregon Coast, with a coffee bar in it. Now, after reading Rock Chick series, I guess it wasn't such an original hippie idea as I thought. Bummer

Lol! Who cares if it was original? Might have been fun:)

I finished Player vs Player by Amelia C. Gormley, which was interesting but the focus on the issues overwhelmed the mystery and the romance. Review to come.
I'm now reading Vision of Darkness by Tonya Burrows, D. I. E. Squadron #1. Not really interested in starting a new series but I'm a big fan of this author.

Quynh - Written in Red was one of my favorite books of the year & so was the 2nd book, Murder of Crows. It surprised me as it's not always my 1st genre of choice but this series is amazing. Waiting for book 3.

I'm now hooked by the third chapter. It was a bit confusing in the first 2 chapters for me with the world building but now it's getting interesting.
It was the same for me, Quynh. But once I was hooked, it snowballed from there. This author amazed me with the world of different characters & the whole scenario she built. It could have been a disaster but she wove it like a master. The ending is fantastic - almost like a huge, blockbuster movie playing out. I think you'll love it.
Dawn wrote: "I loved that book Paula"Just finished. I love it too Dawn. Ransom is an unusual hero. Such a funny, romantic book.
Is that the whole series, Karen. Completed? I've added it to my list...may grab it as a break between some of these long reads I've got coming up.
I just noticed today while loading some of my Jan. reads on my Kindle that I have several really long books scheduled to read...one is 673 pages, one is 652 pages, 719 pages, 754 pages, 554 pages, 425 pages...and then lots of around 400 page books. *sigh* Oh well...nothing ventured, nothing gained! lol

No, Sandra, there is actually 4 books (under 300 pgs each) and 2 novellas. You don't really need First Night as it's also in Night after Night.
I'm still reading BDB #7, Lover Avenged. I just haven't had any reading time this week. It's another great book by Ward - just trying to find time to finish it. Loving Rehvenge more than I thought I would.
I agree, I didn't think I would have liked his story as much either. Now I am addicted to the idea of Assail and Sola's story. The Shadows is next up...and I am looking forward to their story, but my heart needs more Aasail and Sola.
I have been on a bit if a Tammi Hoag reading binge. I have been reading her bew books as tgey came out for the last few years and have really enjoyed them so I decided to start from the beginning even though most are stand alones (I get a bit obsessive about reading books in order that the author writes them) so I have read the first 11 well almost back to back. I have just got my hands on ashes to ashes & dust to dust. Just funished ashes to ashes what a great read. Well all the books have been great. I recommend Tammi Hoag a mixture of romance and murder just how I like it.
Just finished Malice by Lisa Jackson and I must say that out of all the Bentz and Montoya series, this was my favorite. going to take a break from the series and start Serendipity.
Paula, how are you liking Brown's The Witness?
Lesley - I'm with you...must read in order. I'm going to take a look at Tammi Hoag - sounds intriguing.
Sheri - I must find time to read some Lisa Jackson. It's been my plan for some time but I never seem to find time.

Sandra, I just started it and I am alternating it with Don't Tell but so far I like the prologue. I will let you know when i'm done.
You will enjoy them once you get started. Sometimes there can be to much detail in the books but the mystery and suspense make it worth the while.
Finished Vision of Darkness by Tonya Burrows and here's my review.
I also finished Fanning the Flames by Victoria Dahl and loved it. Review to come. I'm now reading the next book in the series, Looking for Trouble.

I finished
I loved it. Definitely reading more by this author. Now reading
. This narrator has the sexiest, deep voice... and still trying to get through
. Don't think this one will be one of my favorites by Brown.
I'm just starting to listen to Ricochet. Just finished listening to Thrilled to Death by L.J. Sellers and enjoyed it. Loving this series.
@Quyhn - Are you still planning on reading Sleep with the Lights On sometime in January? I am but it might be the 2nd half of the month. If you still want to BR it, let me know what will work for you.

Jonetta wrote: "I'm about 2 hours in and so far, it's okay."I feel the same, almost halfway through, it's good, but not great.
