Where at, Dawn?
Where at, Dawn?
Yesterday, I started (and finished) reading The Race Of Scorpions
by James Goss. It was a really good mystery (but short - only 66 pages) set in Ancient Egypt in the reign of Akhenaten (King Tut's dad!)https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I also continued reading Middlemarch
by George Eliot and continued listening to Portobello
by Ruth Rendell

Jonetta, I'm really enjoying it! A really nice change from my dark, nail biting reads...
oh Karen, that is my fave group of fellas. Really enjoyable writing. Suspenseful, funny, heartwarming and heartwrenching too!
It is very frustrating when you have a book that you want to read but can't find it anywhere, My library don't have it, the bookstore i went to didn't have it. UGGGHHH, I want to get my hands on Serendipity

I finished listening to Burying Water by K.A. Tucker and enjoyed it. Two narrators were used for the main characters, which helps a lot, even though the female narrator was a bit weak. Review to come.
I'm now listening to Thrilled to Death by L.J. Sellers, Detective Jackson #3.

You know I'm not a fan of serials but this one is so good & well written. Very dark, intense, heart-wrenching read. I loved it. Read all 5 in one evening.

I'm sucked into another BDB...I keep waiting to come to the one that I won't like but it's just not happening.
is turning out to be another great one for me. I am still amazed at how many different threads/plots Ward can manipulate all within the same book & keep every single one of them intense, exciting, & moving forward. Wow!

Thanks! I am enjoying! But then, I've enjoyed them all thus far. Phury's book was a favorite for me - I had feared starting it as I had heard that some didn't like it. I loved it! Ward continues to amaze me.

Phury's was the only one I had issues with. I think you're going to love everything else going forward as the stories become even more layered with multiple storylines in motion.

Good to hear. And I loved Phury's story even though I didn't expect to. His ended up being one of my favorites. The multi story lines are amazing...because Ward pulls it off. It could easily be a jumbled up mess. Really turning into one of my fav series.
I love all those brilliantly woven stories in one book. Some criticize her for doing so, mostly those who prefer to have one, dominant romance. Her way makes for a much richer story.
Exactly. It would be different if she dropped the ball on one of them but she doesn't. I find each piece/plot brilliantly done, easy to follow, intense, & it all keeps me reading as fast as I can. It's like bonus books within a book.
Hey, I'm in that miserable camp of people who have to wait for the next book's release. There's a downside to being current:)
I remember how the stories would linger in my head for weeks after I'd finished. Miss those days.

I don't know if I'm different, but I just didn't get much out of Phury. My favorites are Zsadist/Bella and Rehvenge/Ehlena.Yesterday, I listened to "A Christmas Tree" in Christmas Short Stories
by Charles Dickens.I also continued reading Island of Vice: Theodore Roosevelt's Doomed Quest to Clean up Sin-loving New York
by Richard Zacks

Seems to be the story of my reading life! 500+ pages I did take a brief reprieve & read a couple of serials...nice break!

Sandra...I completely agree with Jonetta on your reading future. Once you get past Phurry's book, there is non stop addiction to the stories. I cannot wait until you get caught up to The King. I am in wait mode for The Shadows.
Well, Dawn...I'm certainly doomed then because I have absolutely loved every book through Lover Avenged. I can't imagine loving any book of the series more than those I've already read. Yay for me! Lots to look forward to. And I will have to say again...I Loved Phury & his story!!!
I'm halfway through Dark Lover after starting it yesterday. Another series I'm completely hooked on and highly enjoying. I'm going to listen to the audiobook version as soon as I can. :)
Dawn wrote: "BDB completely hooked me and fast. I ran through the series faster then any other, even In Death."
Hooked me also but I have adhered to my one-a-month plan...not easy as good as these are! But then, I have several awesome series going at once & want to finish them all. :)

Rachel...I read about half and listened to the other half. I love the narration of this series. My current binge read is Rock Chick. I am up to book 5. The good thing is most of them are available on Scribd so I can afford thus binge lol.

Really good to know, Dawn, as I'm starting that series soon.
