- again about 3-1/2 *'s. @Sandra, This book is quite contentious in the responses to it. I don't know if you've read it and if you have where you fell on the scale. I actually didn't have much trouble with some of the things others do - the premise of him visiting at night and her not knowing his name, her love of shoes and clothes (which stereotypically points to ditzy/shallow which I didn't really feel she was). Several have said - suspend disbelief and just go with the story. I had no problem with that. Underneath I thought she (the MC) had heart, was protecting herself after heartache (as was he), and I could go with it. His alphaness was above and beyond for me at times. That is probably where it fell down for me more than other places. I also thought it was a bit long - have heard this from other KA readers at times. Not in that I didn't enjoy it, but there was at least one too many crisis for my liking. Could have cut it off one crisis sooner and I would have been happy. But all in all, I enjoyed it and would read the next in the series. So, I'm on to listening to
and reading
.
Penni, my sister-in-law, who has read all of KA's books, insists The Dream Man series was her least favorite. I haven't read them, but loved her 'Burg series.

Penni - I read Mystery Man about a year & 1/2 ago giving it 4 stars. I didn't overthink it at the time...just read for enjoyment. I guess the concept is a little over the top (I'm sure it would scare me to death if a strange man broke into my house & into my bed) but I liked the characters & story development & I enjoyed the book. The heroine may have started off a bit naïve & the hero very alpha but it didn't distract me from liking them. Is it my fav KA book? No. There are others I liked a lot better. I have found that a few of her books drag on too long also. Scenes could be cut without hurting the overall story...but that's just my opinion, of course. In comparison to other books I've rated 4 stars since reading this one, if I were reading/rating it today, my rating would probably be 3.5 stars.

I laughed when I saw people doing 1/2 stars berfore - but now I understand why. As I look back over ratings there are things I would do differently as I am probably not as consistent as I should be, and since 1/2 stars aren't taken I have to round up or down.
But I thought it was an enjoyable read. And I have had my eye on Motorcycle Man for quite awhile now. Keep my eye on the prize LOL
I'm reading The Beautiful Ashes by Jeaniene Frost and listening to Kissing in the Dark by Wendy Lindstrom.

Is this the third book in Deborah Harkness' trilogy?
Is this the third book in Deborah Harkness' trilogy?
@Jonetta, it is. I'm having a REALLY hard time getting into it. I've been reading it for a week and I'm only on pg 95. I read the other 2 books in the series so I'm gonna keep plugging away at it.
I've heard others have had the same issue. One, however, said that once they got into it, it worked.
Finished Visions last night. Listening to Survivor today. I have so forgotten how this book can make me cry
I know I went straight from Ome to the next, since I am trying to go through it in order. I found I was skipping around and listening to the same five or six books over and over. Forgot a bunch of faves
I am still working on I Can See You. I have not been able to read much over the last three days and it is killing me. I am having reading withdrawals. After tomorrow I should be able to focus more on reading.

No, Shari. This series has been on my list for some time but just always got nudged aside for some reason. So, this is my first time. Love the humorous banter & waiting for "more" from Kate & Curran. ;)

I just finished I Can See You. It was good but there was a lot going on sometimes it was hard to keep up. Luckily it all came together and made a great ending. Now I will start the next book Silent Scream
Finally starting the 19 book package of the Dark Hunter series I bought back in June for $18.88...reading Fantasy Lover. Can I just say I really really think I deserve to save an emotionally destroyed half-god Ancient Macedonian General cursed to be a love slave girl eternity?
Love this series, Dawn! And agree with Jonetta - the first one is the weakest...though I would make the sacrifice to save him too! ;)
Well, I bought like 19 of them in one package so ya'll can guess what I will be reading for the next few weeks lol
ROFL!! You go girl!! Wish I had time to reread them with you. It's been some time since I met them & I sure would love to go back again!! :)
I finished Hold on Tight by Serena Bell and here's my review.
I'm now reading Hard Knocks by Lori Foster, a spinoff of her Love Undercover series.

[bookcover:Cry No Mor..."I read cry no more years ago. Looking forward to what you thought of it.
Listening to the newest Lauren Willig book book in the PINK CARNATION series, THE MARK OF THE MIDNIGHT MANZANILLA.

Just finished Silent Scream and I must once again it didn't disappoint. I must say that I am sad the The Chicago and minneapolis books are done. I hope Baltimore series is as good. Now I will be starting You Belong to Me
Randi wrote: "Elle - I thought Joyland by Stephen King was just a well written, slice of weird happenings in a young man's life type of story. Certainly not horror, but a bit on the supernatural side. SK is just an amazing writer. I have not read Cell by Stephen King, and I wasn't trilled with Under the Dome by Stephen King. However, I think one of his best books is 11/22/63 by Stephen King and I very much enjoyed Doctor Sleep (The Shining #2) by Stephen King. ..."

Oh, "11/22/63" and "Doctor Sleep" are both on my TBR list! I tried to read "Under the Dome" twice and couldn't get into it either time (didn't watch the series either.)
I decided that I am going to take a short break on Karen Rose and read Imitation in Death so that I can join in on the discussion. I will start You Belong to Me in a day or so.
Finished
Wow! I am speechless. My heart is racing. I don't know what I expected when I started this series about a woman who restores cemeteries & sees ghosts but I know I didn't expect to love it this much. Very different than anything I've read before. It literally sucks you in. Brilliant author.

I'm still working on For You by Kristen Ashley. It's a bit long and descriptive but that's her style. It's keeping me interested, and the characters are all likable.
