What are you reading?
Sandra wrote: "LOL...it's been on my list for awhile, Quynh. Let me know if you survive it! ;)"Haha. If you don't hear from me, you'll know I dissolved into a puddle from the heat of the book.

I enjoyed that one! Hope there's more to come in the series. I really liked Hero's family.
Quynh, I love this author, and am really hooked on this book. Yes, I can see a series coming out of this. Penni...you just must read The 'Burg series.

I take it that's a KA series? I'm not too far into MM yet, but I think I'll like her writing style. This one has sorta up and down reviews - people not liking Gwen. I'm loving her sort of over the top out there character. Where would be the fun if she was straight laced, normal and sane?
I've been reading
and listening to
. I recently finished
. I was very impressed. I've read another of the author's Companion series and thought it only so-so. This book was much more involved, with a good story and not too much dependence on the romance until the last 1/3.

I highly recommend her Colorado Mountain series. I've only read the 1st book in that series,
, but it just took my breath away -- loved it! That book won me over and made me a KA fan. That series has gotten really good reviews.I'm not a big fan of biker stories or rock band stories, so her Rock Chick series is probably not for me. The first book of her 'Burg series on my Kindle, just haven't gotten to it yet.
Okay Quynh ...that was a really good book. And I totally see Knox being the focus of the next one...
Few days ago I started the New York Blades series by Deirdre Martin and after reading the first three books I gave it up... They were ok, but, for me, didn't worth reading the whole series! I've just started Love a Little Sideways
by Shannon Stacey and expect to have a great time reading it!
Just finished reading Portrait in Death. there are so many awesome scenes in this book and it is in my top 5. Absolutely love this book. Tonight I will finally start Sight Unseen
Just started The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness, it's book 3 in The All Souls Trilogy. I should have re-read book 2, it's been about 2 yrs since it came out and I don't remember much about what happened.
Just finished reading
and must say it was well worth the wait. I absolutely love Iris Johansen. She has such an awesome style of writing. Tomorrow I will continue to read the Karen Rose Romantic Suspense series. Next book is
I finished listening to The Kill Artist by Daniel Silva and it was excellent. I also finished reading Crave The Night by Lara Adrian and enjoyed it, though it leaned more to the romance side of things versus the action.
I'm now reading Red, White & Screwed by Holly Bush and listening to Take Me by J. Kenner, which I'm not enjoying. Thankfully, I've only got an hour left.

Finished The One & Only; did not enjoy it. First time I've read Emily Giffin. Now reading Voyager by Diana Gabaldon. Yes! Back in the world of Sassenach & loving it!

Based on book 1, I agree! I will continue as soon as I can. I just can't seem to find enough time left over after I work in my required reads. (as in MRs, BRs, Challenge reads, ARCs, etc.)

Sandra, do you like doing ARC's? I have been thinking of offering to do them, I am just not certain about the process. It is a lot different than reading/listening for review which I started doing recently.

Yes & No, Dawn. Sometimes you get really good ones & sometimes it's a chore to read them & then write a nice but honest review. Know what I mean? I've gotten a lot better about screening or choosing & picking what I agree to take now. I do have authors that I love & can't wait to receive their ARCs and that's fun. But I first started out accepting everything and had to stop doing that.

I had heard reading ARC's is really like proof reading. Seems more involved. And, yes! I do know what you mean. I often get free audiobooks Teton both authors and narrators for an honest review. That can be a very relative term. "Honest review" since there are some pretty bad books out there, and there are even more mediocre books with really bad narrators lol. It can get pretty touchy being honestly nice lol. I listened to one book 3 times and read it once before I wrote the review.
well I couldn't seem to put the book down so I just finished Scream for me. Tomorrow I will start Kill For Me

ARCs can sometimes feel like proof reading but that's rare for me and I read a lot of them. Most of mine come from NetGalley or authors whom I have a previous reading relationship. My role in these instances isn't as an editor...it's to evaluate the story. If it's an uncorrected proof, I don't bother with even noticing proofreading issues as that's not the point.
As Sandra said, initially, I was accepting everything and, at times, it was painful. I've since stopped doing that. Too many good books and too little time to waste.

It can be addictive. I'm still digging out of a hole I created. Lesson learned.

I finally finished the last of the Conversion series, 'Til Death by S.C. Stephens. I really loved this series. I've been reading Life After Life, not sure what I think of it yet. I usually love Kate Atkinson, but this book is written a little strangely.
I finished with Samanthe Beck's McCade Brothers books. Now moving onto Kristen Ashley The 'Burg series. Only 2 weeks of free reading time left booooo.
Listening to Remember When. Trying really hard to start reading the 19 book package by Sherrilyn Kenyon I bought a couple months ago...

I love getting ARC's Dawn - now that I have a good working relationship with some authors that I know. It can be like celebrating Christmas morn early! lol But in the beginning, it's became a struggle. Editing isn't part of reading an ARC (I do some actual Editing also) - ARC's for me is reading to get the plot & characterization & story and then write a review. I got some BAD ones at the start - ones that put me to sleep...it happens. Hence, the being more picky now. But you got to start somewhere!

I took a JD/Nora break, and read some Robert Crais, starting with
. I also read Stephen King's
which I can't seem to get out of my mind. I'm ready for a re-read.
I started reading Kill For Me this morning and love that it picked up right where Scream for me left off

The One & Only is a romance about a young sportswriter who falls in love with her best friend's father. The book openes with the funeral of the best friend's mom; so he is recently widowed. I kept reading the book thinking it would get better - but it just didn't.
thanks the insomnia that I have suffered from the last 3 nights I have already finished reading Kill For Me and I am starting I can see you.

Oh, in a "this was deliciously creepy" way, or a "man, that was just gross, where's the brain bleach" way? I haven't read any of his new stuff since "Cell" and wasn't impressed with that Stand retread.
I finished Red, White & Screwed by Holly Bush and loved it! Review to come.
I'm now reading Double Up by Vanessa North.
