Teri Woolley Yesterday I was sick of watching TV. I had three days off and spent the first day binging on The Witches of East End. It's good. Sunday I decided to read The Darkest Evening of the Year by Dean R. Koontz. His books are not what I would normally read but it had a dog in it so....

What a good book. It was very inspirational. I read it in a day and highly recommend it.

Just finished it, Lynne. I loved it. It is chilling...especially knowing there are psychos like this out there!

Dawn | 3250 comments Sandra...did you get that with your new $10 audible coupon? I love spending free money lol.

I am reading The Promise by Kristen Ashley (just released today). Yup, stuck on another dang series lol

No, I didn't Dawn. It's one I had purchased through Whispersync after purchasing the ebook for Kindle a while back. I had a bit of a drive to do today and scrolled through books I had loaded on my phone and this one popped up. I punched play and was instantly mesmerized by the narrator...she just nails the ole southern accents and the whole aura of the Charleston area. I am loving this book and it's one I don't think would be quite as good reading as it is listening.

message 1415: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Well, with both you and Jonetta loving it, I am going to have to give it a try.

It's different for sure and really good.

I did love getting another $10 coupon for Audible. Have to think about what I want to get with that one.

Dawn, you'd love it. It's got this creepy, mysterious vibe and the narrator captures the sultriness of the book. Dark, tortured hero.,,

This is a series I'd listen to again.

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11217 comments Mod
From the moment I clicked "Play", I was hooked. The book is awesome...mysterious, ghostly, ominous, and I'm sure you'd get all that by reading it, but this narrator really nails it.

message 1427: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Yup, I am addicted Jonetta...I absolutely must know what happens in book 2! However, I did one of those partial read/listening sessions, and am not overly thrilled with the narration. Not the worst I have heard, but far from the best. I didn't hear Barnett in my head the way she does him. Long story short, I would recommend reading the series, not listening to it unless you have to.

I've heard so many "meh" comments about this one. Someone said they weren't crazy about the heroine.

message 1441: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments I am determined. It could be the narration...he is good, but it don't like his female voices very much.
