message 1351: by Randi (new)

Randi | 93 comments I read Dance Upon the Air (Three Sisters Island, #1) by Nora Roberts which was fine, but I don't feel compelled to read the rest of the trilogy.

I just finished Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven, #1) by Nora Roberts and I really enjoyed that, so I'll continue with the Sign of Seven trilogy. So far though, nothing compares to the awesomeness of the Circle Trilogy. Is it because it was my first Nora Roberts book, or is that the best one (for me, anyway)? Guess there's only one way to find out. ;D

Patricia Evans (pvevans) | 47 comments I’m listening to Carolina Moon right now. I thought I had read it before but I don’t think I have. It seems pretty predictable though. I think I already know who the killer is LOL. But it’s a good book regardless.

I JUST finished that trilogy yesterday. I had read it years ago so I went ahead and got the audio version. I really liked it.

I finished listening to The Collector by Nora Roberts and loved it, especially this format. The narration was very good (Julia Whelan), too.

I'm now listening to Forged In Ash by Trish McCallan.

@jonetta, I'm reading The Collector, really enjoying it! I'm about half way thru, enjoying the humor in this one! It's an ebook from library, so far no editing errors or typos! It's the quality I had come to expect from her books, but had lost with recent publications. I know several people said it was very similar to a previous one, but evidently I hadn't read that one.

I didn't notice any similarities to other books or editing errors either.

If you look at the GR reviews they mention which book & characters it is. I know one of the trilogies I read was very, very similar to another one she wrote. I still enjoyed it though, since it had been awhile since I had read the other one.

I really don't like when that happens, Shari. If I've followed a character through a few books and then he/she seems to have a different personality in a new release, it really bugs me...doesn't ring true. Even with a life altering event, their basic, familiar personality would remain the same, even if they acted a little out of character.

I had to pause Forged In Ash to listen to Fatal Consequences by Marie Force, which was wonderful. Now back to Forged.

I'm also reading Seduced by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott.

I've just finished The Gamble (Colorado Mountain, #1) by Kristen Ashley , and saw that many people like her 'Burg series too. Is it as good as her Colorado Mountain series?

I haven't read her 'Burg series, Donna. I've enjoyed most of her other series.

I just finished Nauti Boy (Nauti, #1) by Lora Leigh and have started 2 of our July reads: Valley of Silence (Circle Trilogy, #3) by Nora Roberts and Don't Tell (Romantic Suspense, #1) by Karen Rose ...quite a chilling start to Don't Tell!

I'm up to the 6th book in the series and love it. You have to hold your nose reading the first, über cheesy book in the series, Fantasy Lover, but the books get progressively better after that one. I've loved all the rest.

Dawn | 3250 comments Oh good...since I am struggling through the first one lol.

I, unfortunately, listened to the audiobook for that one. The second half of the book is better but the first half was just painful.

The next books are so different from this one. Hang in there!

I love the Dark Hunter series but have to agree that the first one is....oh my, what is the word?...I'll go with cheesy also! :) Later books are really good with a good, in depth story/character line.

I couldn't think of any other word, either, and remember constant eye rolling through the first half of the story.

Me too! I was like WHAT?! I don't think the first book did the series justice and I hope people aren't so put off that they don't continue it as there are some really good reads in that series. I grew to love that world with it's many characters.

A good friend is the reason I read the series also. She kept insisting that I would love it if I gave it a chance. She was right. It's been a long time since I read the earlier books...would love to do a reread if I could ever work it in.

I'm reading and loving Don't Tell (Romantic Suspense, #1) by Karen Rose

Yes, I like "the 'Burg" series as much as the Colorado Mountain series. I found Jagged and Kaleidoscope to be my least fave in Colorado. "For You", the first 'Burg book, was my least favourite but I loved the other three - added bonus, book 5 comes out next week.
