Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments Just finished reading Fear Nothing (Detective D.D. Warren, #7) by Lisa Gardner . It was the complete opposite of what i was expecting but overall I will say that it was a great book. I have really enjoyed watching D.D Warren throughout this series and the changes in her compared to when the series started. Now I am going to be starting The Collector by Nora Roberts

Glad you're better Lynne! That's the time I drag out my Audible stuff! Glory in Death would be my prescription.

I finished A Cold Dark Place by Toni Anderson and loved it (review to come).

I'm now reading Silence by Debra Webb, the prequel to the series, and will then jump right into the next book, Obsession.

Some good moments in this one. And Peabody & McNab...well - you've just got to read it. ;)

Good - something positive to look forward to :-)

So far so good but I'm just a couple chapters in. Have met Peabody's brother.

I finished Silence and Obsession by Debra Webb and loved them both!! I've discovered a new series to salivate over.

I also finished listening to It Happened One Wedding by Julie James and loved that, too. This was my first time listening to a Karen White narration.

It's been a really great reading month so far. I'm now reading The Hollow and listening to The Collector, both by Nora Roberts.

message 1316: by Wolfme76 (new)

Wolfme76 | 4 comments Although, I'm in the middle of quite a few books at the moment, I am making my way through 'The Ask and the Answer'. It's the second in the Walking Chaos trilogy by Patrick Ness. Yes, I know it's quite old now, in book terms, but I very rarely read new books :)

I'm back to Cross & Crown I got waylaid by some things. I am anticipating the release of Dirty Angels on the 15th...as a huge fan of the Artist's Trilogy, I can't wait for this one.

message 1319: by Sheri (new)

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments well I finally finished reading The Collector and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It's been a while since Nora Roberts has come out with a book that really kept my attention. She does a lot of romance and romance bores me. this had the right amount of romance but had the suspense factor as well. I need both in a book to keep my interest.

I'm really enjoying it, too. I'm 2 hours in (15 hours total).

message 1321: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 1576 comments Sheri, I started The Collector about a few mins ago. I wasn't overly thrilled with Whiskey Beach or Chasing Fire( I didn't finish it), I'm hoping this one is better.

message 1322: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15063 comments Mod
Maggie, I ended up skipping a lot of those fire jumping scenes in Chasing Fire.

message 1323: by Sheri (new)

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments Maggie, I thought it was much better. it kept my attention from the start.

message 1324: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 1576 comments Of all the Nora/ JD books I have read there have only been 2 that I didn't like at all. Chasing Fire was one, it is also the only book of Nora's that I didn't finish. So far I'm enjoying The Collector :)

I've never dnf'd a NR's book. I certainly like some better than others but have never disliked one so much that I didn't finish it. But I also mix my reads up a great deal as I like a wide range of genres and prefer to switch it up often - even within one month. I think the In Death series is probably the exception as I keep one of them going almost all the time...but at the same time, I'm reading a completely different genre also.

message 1326: by Sheri (new)

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments I am the same way Sandra...I have never started a NR book that I didnt finish. the only books I won't read of hers is the plain romance. I dont like romance novels they bore me. I personally love her writing style.

message 1327: by Sheri (new)

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments well now that I am in between books in all the series I am reading. I think I am going to enjoy some Eve and Roarke tonight. so far I am caught up in the Eve Duncan series next book comes out in 2015. Will Trent series next book also comes out in 2015 and waiting for the next D.D Warren book to come out. Taking a short break on my Eve Duncan reread because I am missing Eve and Roarke. just have to decide which one to read

I'm a fan of Loyalty too Penni. It's one that stands out for me. I know some fans can name their top 5 In Death books but I have a hard time doing that...it tends to be "the one I'm reading at the time". lol I have ones I like better than others...just as with the NR books...but I can't pick one as an all time favorite.

I'm reading Dirty Angels now.

message 1330: by Sheri (new)

The only reason I can say it's in my top two, is because I've only read about 10 of them so far. They're already blending together some. It will most definitely become more difficult as time goes on ;-)

message 1332: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Lol, I thought I had it narrowed down, then found more when I did re-reads. I can name my five least favorite much easier.

HaHaHa Randi! My husband frequently has that problem...but he's mostly found all my "hiding places"! Enjoy! It's a great trilogy.

message 1346: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments So, my sister-in-law got me hooked into yet another series. The 'Burg series by Kristen Ashley. I managed to binge through the first four in about a week. At least I only have to wait until July 8 for the next one. Starting The Highlander's Temptation by Eliza Knight now.

Those are the books that were specially priced. Glad to hear you enjoyed them.

message 1348: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Yea, they were .99 each. The next book is set at $3.99 for pre-order. I really do have to stop getting hooked on all these series. And Kristen Ashley has a bunch of series.

message 1349: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11216 comments Mod
That's one of only a couple of series by Ashley that I have Not read. I grabbed them also, Dawn. Glad to hear you loved them. You really are a binger! I am too! Just can't resist if I fall in love with the first book.

I just finished Tears of Tess (Monsters in the Dark, #1) by Pepper Winters - a really dark, emotional read. I am starting The Saint (The Original Sinners White Years, #1) by Tiffany Reisz and Rusty Nailed (Cocktail, #2) by Alice Clayton - both released yesterday. I will try to read them back to back before my July reads start!

message 1350: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Yes! If I hate that first book, I can save myself a whole lot of money lol. I just need to stick with so e stand alones...because if they hook me with get first book, it can get to an expensive couple weeks. This wasn't do bad since they were all a buck each and even the $3.99 for the next one isn't unreasonable. There is another series my sister-in-law told me about and it is on sale for $19 for the first twenty books in the series. So of course I bought it. Haven't started it yet though. The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Anyone else read those books?
