I haven't read Chicagoland Vampires, but my vote is for BDB too. >_> lol. I can't wait for The King! 2 more weeks!
That's what I thought...I'm trying to choose a "new" to me series for a challenge I'm starting April 1 and I'm pretty sure my choice is going to be BDB.
Excellent decision, Sandra! That is one addictive series. Other than the In Death books, the BDB books are the only others that I read in (practically) one sitting. Can't wait for
to come out!
My challenge is all about reading either authors or series that are new to you. BDB has been on my list forever but just never started it for some reason. But then, my tbr list is full of great series that I want/need to read. As of right now, BDB will most likely be my first one for the challenge.
About to start
which is the last in the Grant County series. I hate that this is the last book. I have really enjoyed it
I just finished listening to Blackberry Winter by Sarah Jio. This was a pretty good mystery, and I didn't get the "bad guy" until the author wanted me to, which can be pretty rare.
Read
which I got as a free download and liked it well enough I immediately bought the second book of the series
Some similarities to the In Death series, police/procedural set in the future after more 9/11 type attacks, new high tech which is used in law enforcement, strong female main character. Characters aren't as vividly developed, much more emphasis on the police/detective plotting, not as much humor or romance but overall a very promising series so far.
I just finished The Righteous Men by Sam Bourne, a fascinating story set in the Crown Heights Brooklyn Hasidic community. Here's my review.
I'm now reading Missing You by Harlan Coben.

Finished
. The suspense worked better in this book. Quite enjoyed it! Now I'm just waiting for tomorrow for
.

I just finished reading
. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the book the first part of it but ended up really getting into and I have just started the second one
I finished reading Without Consent by Frances Fyfield yesterday. I really enjoyed. Sad to know it was the last Helen West novels. These books are all about the same size as your basic cozy mystery, but they're not cozies. The main character is a strong woman, a Crown Prosecutor (district attorney). The crimes and the criminals are not cut and dried. The bad guys aren't all bad. If you liked Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren, you'll probably like these.I'm reading
and listening to
today.
Listening to a The Shadow and the Star, by Laura Kinsale. I must admit this is one of my favorites of her titles. I actually like the heroine.
Oh wow. I fell in love with her books last year. My faves right now are Prince of Midnight, My Sweet Folly and The Shadow and the Star. She paired up with Nicholas Boulton for audiobooks about a year ago, and he is great. They are hard to put into just the romance category, as there is so much more than just romance in them. They are really deep, often mentally exhausting books. This one is a lighter (for a Kinsale book) story. They all have some social significance in them. I highly recommend them.

Thanks for that info! I'll check her out.

Here's my review of Waiting On You by Kristan Higgins, which I finished a couple of weeks ago. Loved this book!
I wasn't sure from just the synopsis that I would read this one, but your review has convinced me to give it a try. Great job!
