I'm now reading Come Home to Me by Brenda Novak and listening to Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill (the narrator is awful).

I remember listening to one of Amanda Quick's audiobooks and you could hear the narrator taking breaths. It drove me crazy.

This one has no inflections and makes no distinctions in character voices. I wish she WOULD take a breath, as annoying as that is, because she's just flying through the script. You'd think she was reading a technical manual as it sounds just as boring.
Thank goodness the author changed narrators after this book. I've never heard anyone this bad before.

LOL!! That's one of the reason I love the In Death series, Susan Ericksen is just incredible. I don't know what I'd do if someone else started narrating them. I'm trying to get all the In Death series from Audible. When I've got headache or I'm sick or I'm at the dentist, I take my In Death with me.
My friends told me that the new narrator is extremely good. All I have to do is suffer through this one:)
I just finished reading Getting Rowdy, the third book in her Love Undercover series, and loved it. Here's my review.
This one was the best to date.

I know! She wrote a beautiful story for them. The 2nd book should be read before you read Reza's story.

I'm so invested in them! And yes, I'll read book 2 for sure before continuing on. :)
I'm finishing
. I will probably proceed with the next one in the series. And also try to decide the next series I will start.

Did you see the topic opened by Joc in this folder (Grant County series)?

Let me know how that one goes! I have a copy of this but never got to it after I read the LOTR trilogy and The Hobbit.

Good to know! I struggled through the writing for LOTR as well to make sense of the style, but then you get used to it after a while.

Oh boy, guess I'll have to have patience with it then.

But the big news here is my Autistic nephew, who just finished all three Hunger Games books. His next choice,,,I Beat the Odds by Michael Oer. I am so proud.

Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite authors. Each book in her series just made you want to continue right to the next without a break. Absolutely loved it!!
Yay Dawn! That is so awesome! I love to see kids get hooked on reading!
Donna - Karin Slaughter is on my list of must read soon authors. I hear so many good things about her books.

I think you'll like it Sandra. It looks at the effects war has on soldiers in families and couples. Really great writing too. I'll finish the series out in the coming weeks.

Thanks Quynh. It is a touching subject for sure...I know a local couple that were destroyed by the long absence of the husband in the service...they just couldn't adjust when he finally came home to stay after several years of mostly being gone. So sad.
