I'm now reading Come Home to Me by Brenda Novak and listening to Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill (the narrator is awful).

I remember listening to one of Amanda Quick's audiobooks and you could hear the narrator taking breaths. It drove me crazy.

This one has no inflections and makes no distinctions in character voices. I wish she WOULD take a breath, as annoying as that is, because she's just flying through the script. You'd think she was reading a technical manual as it sounds just as boring.
Thank goodness the author changed narrators after this book. I've never heard anyone this bad before.

That's one of the reason I love the In Death series, Susan Ericksen is just incredible. I don't know what I'd do if someone else started narrating them. I'm trying to get all the In Death series from Audible. When I've got headache or I'm sick or I'm at the dentist, I take my In Death with me.
My friends told me that the new narrator is extremely good. All I have to do is suffer through this one:)
I just finished reading Getting Rowdy, the third book in her Love Undercover series, and loved it. Here's my review.
This one was the best to date.

Finished reading
around 2:00 am this morning. I have to say this book was a tough one. More so then the first book Blindsighted. It was a great book though. Now I am about to start the next in the series
Just finished
last night and in a way it reminded me just a bit of some of the Eve Dallas books. Not detective/police procedural, more private 'black ops' A/A but the usual male main characters are the 'victims' in this plotline and the supporting female characters that usually have limited appearances take over the 'kick ass and take names' action. I've enoyed the entire series and this was one of the best.
I finished
and
. I'm now reading
. I skipped book 2 as the characters are different from the ones introduced in the first book. I'll come back to it after this one. I just need to know what's going to happen with Trent and Laura!

I know! She wrote a beautiful story for them. The 2nd book should be read before you read Reza's story.

I'm finishing
. I will probably proceed with the next one in the series. And also try to decide the next series I will start.

Just finished
....This series is getting better and better in each book. Tomorrow I will start the next book
. I have it on hold at the library and it has come in.

I just finished Concealed in Death. Now, I am going read the Body in the Library, and finish reading Vampire Diaries - The Awakening.
I am reading "One Way Out" by Alan Paul, a history of the Allman Brothers Band. This is a fantastic book, written in the voices of the people who lived it. As I read the book, I look up YouTube videos of each story they are talking about and enhance my experience with watching these videos.
Kirsten wrote: "I'm reading
today."Let me know how that one goes! I have a copy of this but never got to it after I read the LOTR trilogy and The Hobbit.
It's very interesting. The poem was a little difficult to make my way through. But the criticism, explanation, analysis by Tolkien's son is fascinating.

I struggled through the writing for LOTR as well to make sense of the style, but then you get used to it after a while.
Kirsten wrote: "It's even harder than that. Many of the words are archaic (like Canterbury Tales archaic.)"Oh boy, guess I'll have to have patience with it then.
Just finished. Highland Healer...a pretty good book. Now re listening to Promises in DeathBut the big news here is my Autistic nephew, who just finished all three Hunger Games books. His next choice,,,I Beat the Odds by Michael Oer. I am so proud.

Yay Dawn! That is so awesome! I love to see kids get hooked on reading!
Donna - Karin Slaughter is on my list of must read soon authors. I hear so many good things about her books.

. I wanted a quick read before this next couple of weeks of great releases coming out.
Sandra - ♥Star♥ wrote: "This series, Coming Home, looks so good, Quynh. I've added it to my monstrous reading list!"I think you'll like it Sandra. It looks at the effects war has on soldiers in families and couples. Really great writing too. I'll finish the series out in the coming weeks.

Thanks Quynh. It is a touching subject for sure...I know a local couple that were destroyed by the long absence of the husband in the service...they just couldn't adjust when he finally came home to stay after several years of mostly being gone. So sad.
