This is a story about how love, jealousy and courage change a pure island, Uta-jima, into something very different. A young fisherman, Shinji, falls in love with a rich man’s daughter, Hatsue, but many barriers stand in their way, including two jealous admirers. The story takes place in a beautiful island where life is simple. Shinji and Hatsue must fight against rumors, violence and betrayal to stay together. Finally, Shinji is put to a test where he will have to conquer his fears to fight for Hatsue, changing all their lives forever.
