Barb Any decision on Eat St.: Recipes from the Tastiest, Messiest, and Most Irresistible Food Trucks? I haven't tagged it yet for this challenge, but if it qualifies, I'd like to do so before I forget about it :) Thanks!

Turtlecollector Dennis | 1164 comments Dynasty (Poison Girl #3) by A.J. Johnson-Clark

The author responded quickly to my PM! She says the book has 145,662 words so it should count and I won't need to talk to Jenny about it. It will even go on my list of 'chunksters'.

That is a very tough call, Barb. Cookbooks are hard, and we are considering not counting them for Round III. (Several people have some 'tagged' for Round II.) Countess Paige or I will probably have to go to B&N to check out the physical book. Looking at it on-line shows a lot of pictures, but then it goes on for awhile with just text.

Please bear with us. Thank you for your patience.

Don't worry about it, LK, I just won't count it, it's not that big a deal :) And yes, I can see the issue with cookbooks, especially those with lots of photos.

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 1222 comments When you've finished the Sunday Update, please could you have a look at this one for me? I've found it on Amazon with the kindle version listed as having 160 pages ( http://www.amazon.com/Possession-In-D... ) and it's available as part of a two short story book with 320 pages ( http://www.littlebrown.co.uk/Books/de... ) but I haven't managed to find a word count (I have no idea where you manage to find so many of them!)

Possession in Death (In Death, #31.5) by J.D. Robb

It's currently on a team mate's shelf (the audio version which supposedly has 3 pages!) but I'll leave it there for this update and message her when I have her decision if that's ok?

Three Graces (A magical romantic comedy) by Victoria Connelly Wohin mit der Liebe by Victoria Connelly has a paperback edition of 336 pages, so that is fine. We won't change the data, due to the coming Amazon takeover. I'm not even going to change the bookcover (so that it is w/o those pesky arrows).

Kari (mazuka) | 427 comments Hello, I was told to post here and see what can be done.

I am currently reading (almost finished) a PDF ARC from a brand new author. The book was just released on Amazon in Kindle format yesterday and is listed at 200 pages The PDF I am reading (think 8.5x11 pages) is 104 pages long. I just found it here on good reads.. I would like to use this in the challenges but not sure if I can. What should I do?

The book is "Saving Grace" by C.L. Champlain.

Thanks

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) I find that sometimes there is a discrepancy between Goodreads, Amazon and even the book itself or kindle when it comes to the number of pages. I think in some cases the publisher includes all pages not just the books pages.

What do I do in a case like this?

Rhonda | 550 comments Hi!

I came across The Summons

ISBN 0385503822

The page count shown is incorrect at 245 pages. This edition actually has 341 pages. Is this the place to bring it to attention for correction on the site?

Thanks!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Rhonda, the page numbers for that book are all over the board. I do see one with that page count:

The Summons by John Grisham - hardcover

If that is not the edition you read, the only thing I can do is create an edition with this bookcover (the one to which you linked):

The Summons by John Grisham - hardcover

Jane | 705 comments Hi. I need a bit of help again.

I know it is Sunday and it is 2 books I have read and there are no doubts they are both long enough so no hurry.

A Lost Witch (A Modern Witch, #7) by Debora Geary - here on GR it is 493 pages. the book didn't feel that long and on Amazon it is only 269 which fits better. A mistake might have been made as the file size says 493kb

Ship of Magic (Liveship Traders, #1) by Robin Hobb this edition is the one that has the asin number of the book I have read but a different cover. This kindle edition is missing pagenumbers, according to Amazon it is 834

Baroness Blue | 70 comments edit: I found success at AR BookFinder for my first search so I'm just going to use that for all. Still would appreciate help on my problem below!

original post: Don't know if this has been asked because I'm not reading through 13 pages of text right now. I feel so dumb... how do you find a word count on Worldcat? I go there and I see nothing obvious about finding a word count. When I did an ISBN search for one title, it just brought me to 3 versions of the book so I clicked on the first one and all I saw was a bunch of words that describe the book and some symbols and numbers that mean nothing to me.

Tried Ingram and I'm just lost.

I'm pretty frustrated. How do I verify word counts for chunksters if I don't even know what I'm looking for? Thanks for any help.

*posted in Capt group for chunkster redemption, too

I'll keep researching for an actual word count, Claire. However, it doesn't look promising. It looks like an in-between book (thus, the 0.5 numbering) and on audio is only about three hours.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Jane wrote: "A Lost Witch (A Modern Witch, #7) by Debora Geary"

With this one, we will allow it, even though it doesn't have a paperback edition to verify page count. We've talked to several people who agree is is long enough to count as a regular read. However, it won't be allowed for a "chunkster."

Ship of Magic (Liveship Traders, #1) by Robin Hobb - Worldcat shows this as being 685 pages with (approximately) 24 of them plates/pictures/maps.

We are NOT currently updating any Kindle data, as they are about to "take over" and do their thing anyway. All our work would be for naught.

CountessPaige de Quantity | 150 comments Claire wrote: "Possession in Death (In Death, #31.5) by J.D. Robb"

In my research, this book was included in this anthology: The Other Side to which it was then released as an audiobook. It is classified as a novella and the audiobook is around 3 hours long. I cannot find the word count either.

Based on this information, I would say that it is less than 40,000 words and will not count for this challenge.

Claire - the "3 pages" identified for the audiobook is the number or disks/CDs which is how GR records the "pages".

Yes, "pages" meaning CDs.

Baroness Blue | 70 comments Can't find a book on ARBookFinder and since Worldcat only seems to show page counts (Or I'm completely blind to their word count section) and Ingram is Greek to me, and Smashwords seems to only show ebook word counts, I need some help verifying the word count of this book: Cowboy Take Me Away. This is a mass market paperback.

Both GR and Amazon show 464 pages. Do I look for the publisher to find a word count? Find the audio or ebook version if it exists and use that info? I'm so lost...and feel like I'm just missing something obvious here. I even Googled 'word count for blah blah book title author' and found just a bunch of links on writing novels. With the book being so close to the 450 page count for chunkster eligibility, I was hoping to find word count verification.

Amazon says 496 pages
