Sadie Forsythe | 15 comments Yea I think it has been. I agree it sucks. I have no problem with the one at a time idea. After all if it was a paperback I could only lend it to one friend at a time. But then they could give it back and I could lend it to someone else. So, yea I too dislike that a book can only be lent once. Honestly once I've purchased something I dislike the seller retaining so much control over it. It makes it feel like it isn't really mine after all.

Miep (miepross) I have a question regarding lending Kindle books. Could I email out the book file to a person to get around only being able to lend a book once?

Guenevere (zombiepenguen) Technically no BUT if you took the DRM off your Kindle books you could. Publishers consider that a big no, no but it's doable.

Technically, you're just buying a license to read the digital content, which is how the publishers get around the whole "owning" thing. In fact, they have the right to take your license away from you if they think you're abusing it. Which is why DRM removal is becoming so popular.
