Why doesn't the book show here:
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
or when I make a search to the author name, Le Lien does not show too in the list of this author books.

But when you do a search using the name of an author, is that ALL his books should not show?

This author only has two books: "L'Etudiante et le Lien", of which there are two editions, and "The Ties That Bind", of which there are ten editions (four titled "The Ties That Bind", four titled "Le Lien", one titled "De Leiband", and one titled "La atadura"). Each book is represented once in the list by its most popular edition.

This author only has two books: "L'Etudiante et le Lien", of which there are two edi..."
"Le Lien" in French is the first of all editions of this story. "Ties that binds" is one amongst the numerous translations that came after the edition of "Le Lien". And "L'Étudiante et le Lien" came after all this because the author was writing "L'Étudiante" when she died in an accident. Some publisher decided to group in one book her 2 novels. But that book (with the two novels) came many years after the original writing of "Le Lien".
What I cannot understand is why the first original edition of a story is not showing when we search it. I understand what you said about popularity, but it does not make sense that the first edition of all does not show at all. :(

On Goodreads, we combine all editions (including translations) of a book into what we call a "work".
Duriès has two works, which are listed on her author page.
The work that contains the original translation on "Le Lien" also includes the English translation titled "The Ties that Bind." Because "The Ties that Bind" is more popular among readers on Goodreads, it becomes the primary edition and represents the work wherever it appears on the site.
So, when you search for Vanessa Duriès the search returns two works as expected. "Le Lien" is represented by "The Ties that Bind" because, as I explained above, it is the primary edition.
If you were to search for Le Lien instead of the author's name, the book appears about 10 books down the page.
Author: Vanessa Duriès
Title: Le Lien
