Talitha (talithamaiysha) | 15 comments Hi everyone!

My name is Talitha, I'm 24 years old and I live in the Netherlands.

I'm actually very ill, and as a result I'm bedridden in a dark room. Fortunately, modern technology is on my side! I can do pretty much all things on my smartphone with the help of screenfilter apps. I mostly do audiobooks, with the occasional ebook.

Well, so much for a light introduction ;). On to brighter things! I love: books (duh), mythology, writing, cats, dark chocolate, philosophy, and a lot more. I read all kind of genres, some of my favourite books are:

1984 - George Orwell
Fight club - Chuck Palahniuk
Rooftops of Tehran - Mahbod Seraji
And again: a lot more.

I recently started writing reviews as well. I plan on turning my personal blog into a book and lifestyle blog. In the meantime, I'm writing as much as possible and I hope to receive feedback as to improve my writing skills.

I joined this group because I love to discuss books and talk about reading, writing, weird hobbies, whatever. If you think we have something in common, please don't hesitate to add me as a friend!

Cheers :)

Randi Everheart (randi_everheart) Hi! I'm Randi Everheart, a writer of contemporary romance with a debut coming out in a month. I find subjects for books from my blogs including Information Specialist Secrets, Precious Cooking, etc. My favorite book is usually whatever I am reading at the time. Jasemine Denise (jaseminedenise) | 3 comments Howdy readers and writers! I'm Jasemine-Denise, lover of the supernatural, shipper of the ships, and also a professional photographer (aside from being a writer myself!) and a blogger!

As far as my book likes go, I like something a little modern but really scary. The gorier the better. LOVE Stephen King with a passion but on the complete other side of the spectrum, I also love self help books.

Look forward to getting to know each of you! <3

David Kelly (davidmkelly) | 22 comments I’m Dave. Originally from West Yorkshire in England, I now live in Northern Ontario, Canada. I’m currently housebound due to medical issues, which has had unexpected benefits in that I now have lots of time to read and write!

I was raised on the (science fiction) classics of Heinlein and Asimov and am always on the lookout for good modern authors (and movies). All suggestions gratefully received.

I write scinece fiction as David M. Kelly.

message 970: by Robin (new)

Robin (f_o_a) | 5 comments Hi, I'm Robin. Pretty new as a Goodreads member, now I wonder why I waited so long!?!

My favorite genre is Fiction. I started by enjoying the classics, then after I had kids and needed a respite more than thought provocation I got into mysteries / thrillers. Now I seem to be morphing into Fantasy / SciFi / Dystopian set novels.

Goodreads has already provided me with several new books to read I may never have found otherwise.

message 975: by Tina (new)

Tina (tinagayle) | 6 comments Hi everyone,
I thought I drop by and say hello to everyone. I'm an author but I was a romance reader long before I started to write. I know romance end in happy ever after. Hey, I like my happy ever after. Life can bite and I want an ending where I feel good and look at the wonders of life.

I'm also a mom, a golfer, and enjoy doing all sorts of crafts. The mom part is dwindled down to holidays with both my boys living out of state. The golfer side has kicked into gear, but it hasn't improved my game but I do enjoy being outside. The Crafts happen whenever the mood strikes me.

That's me, also I love to travel and like to post my pictures on my travel blog.

I guess that's me in a nut shell thanks for letting me be a part of the group.

message 976: by Kim (new)

Kim Brewing Hi Everyone, I'm Kim and I LOVE to read. I am a full time office administrator that squeezes work between books! I love romance in most forms - be it young adult, pure smut and everything in between...second chance romance is my favorite.

message 977: by Jonathon (new)

Jonathon Fletcher (jongardener) | 2 comments Hello. I'm Jon. I'm a gardener most of the year but in the winter I write science fiction. I am also a model maker and photoshop artist. I used to work in the animation industry as a prop and set builder and art director. The most famous show I worked on was probably Bob the Builder. I'm a bit of a novice on Goodreads but I hang around FB and Twitter. I love a good Scotch and cooking. Not surprisingly I'm a massive SciFi fan. I'm also a white van man and I play the Bodhran.

Nice to meet you. ;)

message 978: by Aly (new)

Aly | 3 comments Hi I'm Alysia. I like to read all kinds of book but my fave has to be horror, YA, and supernatural. I have tons of books 4,000 right now in my collection. I love them all! Nice to meet you all.

message 979: by Peggy (new)

Peggy Williams | 7 comments Hello. I'm Peggy, half of the M.J. Williams writing duo. My partner in crime is Mary Joy. I'm a soon to be retired public school teacher who does freelance writing on the side. I'm a Yooper by birth and a Cheesehead by choice and if you are one of the other of those, you'll know what I'm talking about. As M.J. Williams I/we write a mystery series about a retired couple who encounter murder & mayhem as they travel in their RV. I love to read just about anything, but I'm soaking up a lot of non-fiction lately, science & biography.

message 980: by Graham (new)

Graham Garrity (grahamgarrity) | 6 comments Hello everyone. I'm Graham. I've been writing since 1996 when my TV was repossessed. I became an avid reader some months later when I was evicted from my home for non payment of rent. Forced to live in a tent, I was unable to recharge my laptop so I swapped it for a mangy dog. I am a spinner of yarns, a teller of tall tales and a compulsive liar.

message 981: by Ananya (new)

Ananya M. | 1 comments Hi! I'm Ananya but I go by the nickname Anna. I like to read romance- any kind, except usually paranormal- and I absolutely love murder mysteries and crime books. My favorites are fantasy, I'd have to say, but I do also love the classics. My favorite book would have to be To Kill a Mockingbird or Pride and Prejudice.

message 982: by Tom (new)

Tom | 4 comments I'm Tom. I read to little, but I make up for it by writing a lot. I think video games are the future of storytelling (both good and bad storytelling), and I have too little skin for all the tattoos I want. My day job is actually a night job, and although it's actually pretty great, I hate the fact that I have to have it at all. As for my favorite reads, if it's Vonnegut, I've either read it or hate myself for not getting to it yet.

message 983: by Marie (new)

Marie Williams My name is Marie Williams. I have a background in Art History/Western Humanities, and am licensed in interiors. My career wasn't really going anywhere - thank you economy - so a couple of years ago I started doing some soul searching and, in a way, writing found me. Now I'm an aspiring author - at the very advanced age of twenty-nine...

I like literary fiction, classic literature (Russian and English are my favorites), history, and historical fiction, but I read a little of most everything. I like the same things in film and television. Vikings is currently my favorite show. I'm also a fashion bug and I've been drawing since I was six years old.

message 984: by Tom (new)

Tom | 4 comments Marie, I published my first novel at 36. You've got time.

Marie Williams Tom wrote: "Marie, I published my first novel at 36. You've got time."

Hahaha... Thanks, Tom. It's all in good humour, but it seems there are no end to the "I'm under eighteen and just self-published my fanfiction so I'm an expert's" on writing websites. They hear the word twenty-eight (just turned twenty-nine) and all I get is "wowwww..." I'll be heading down for my Social Security check next week.

Linda Sienkiewicz (lindaksienkiewicz) | 5 comments Greetings all! I'm Linda (a name that screams baby boomer). I read literary fiction, and I also enjoy a good love story. message 992: by Robert (new)

Robert Dodds | 4 comments Hello, I'm Robert Dodds and I live in Edinburgh, Scotland in summertime and near Málaga in Spain in wintertime. I'm an author and keen reader, and in the last year or two I've got into the enjoyable habit of writing a short review of books I read on Goodreads. My favourite author is Charles Dickens, and I often read what might be called 'classic' literature, although not exclusively. The last book I read was 'Cold Mountain' and I'm just about to embark on 'Birdsong', which is this March's choice for the book group I belong to - the imaginatively named 'Monthly Book Group'!

Welcome. You are so lucky! My dream is to live in Scotland in the summer and Spain in the winter! Unfortunately funds do not stretch that far, so Scotland all year round for me it is. I have written three books to date, selling reasonably well, but I guess I'll never reach the top ten.

message 994: by Seaton (new)

Seaton Kay-Smith (seatonks) | 4 comments I'm Seaton; writer, comedian, other.. I tend to read a lot of books about writing and film and TV production, for learning, but also out of interest. I also like reading autobiographies (never biographies though, I find I'm as interested in the way the people write as the life they've lead).

I've just been introduced to Graphic Novels, a genre of book I've never given much credit to before, but I am really enjoying it.

Also a big fan of reading plays and screenplays.

message 995: by T.H. (new)

T.H. Hernandez (thhernandez) My name is Theresa. I live in San Diego with my husband, daughter and twin boys. I'm addicted to coffee, love me some craft beers, die hard Chargers fan, and I read a lot. Close to 100 books a year. I have found books I enjoy in almost every genre, although I gravitate toward YA, since that's what I write.

message 996: by T.H. (new)

T.H. Hernandez (thhernandez) 100 books a year! Do add your recommendations to those threads and help us build up the MGR bookshelves!
Thanks, and I'll do that.

Michelle (mdnightmaverick) Howdy! Michelle here. Recent author, yes, but more importantly, reader, enthusiast, conversationalist, artist, writer, director of Shakespeare (mostly) -- to hit the highlights of my Twitter bio. Currently between shows so getting piles of books out of the library on a weekly basis. Have been in a graphic novel, non fiction essay and Terry Pratchett mood, but love mysteries and science fiction as well. The book I recommend to everyone is Connie Willis's Bellwether
