INTRODUCE YOURSELF (not your book)
Hey people!Been dreaming of being a writer for just about my entire life. It was never because I wanted to make money, but because I wanted to share my writing with people. I enjoy seeing people's reactions and emotions when they read my work.
Now, thanks to Amazon Kindle, I have published three books, with the fourth coming out in September. They definitely waver around the lines of the horror/thriller genre but I intend to write differently as time goes on.
I thought joining the group may help me to spread my writing so more people can read and enjoy my books.
I look forward to the conversations with all of you!
Hello all. My name is Jim. I love any good book, and becoming lost in the story. I have a beautiful wife and a lovely daughter. Feel free to drop me a line, I'm kinda weird so watch out!
Maggie.... Have a look at my TBR on my profile. I could definitely help you fill it. So far, the books on here are from my Kindle. My nook HD is full and I have yet a notebook of books and series' that I want to read... Welcome..I am new also.. I'm Kathy and I'm a book/reading addict. I have always loved to read, even as a teen. Now it is an escape. I do not limit myself with the type of books I read. Generally, I'm open to all genres. If can keep hold my attention and doesn't have a cliff hanger, it will work. I don't care for Aliens are a Genre. As an older adult, I really shy away from YA. Every other genre has possible treasures. My favorite is Paranormal Romance. I do reviews for a small blog. I'm excited to be here...

What kind of books do you like? And I'm a little weird myself, so the caution tape is double-sided in this case.
Hello Adam. I like any good story. A few of my favorites include The Godfather, The Hunt for Red October, and lots of science fiction. I'll try and stay on the right side of the tape. Just let me know which side is safe!

I'm quite a bit like you in terms of book taste. Anything that captivates me and makes me think is a great read in my eyes.
Nothing beats a great story. A break from reality, and a good story does wonders for mental health. I'm getting older, and I need more breaks from reality. I can't wait until I retire and have more time to enjoy what others have written. I just have to make sure I stay on the right side of the tape!

Hi everyone!I don't know if I've already introduced myself here, I tend to lose track where, when, and how many times I may have already done so. Who knows, I may have introduced myself here a couple of times already!!
K, name's Turhan, I predominantly luv to read Fantasy, but I'm also open to several other genres that are character driven, plots I can't figure out and romance that isn't insta-love. Yep, I've also authored a book that's a part of a trilogy and I also enjoy connecting with people on life's spiritual journey. Lotsaluv to you all and see ya around!
Hi everyone! My name is Alex. I enjoy reading many books especially classics, horror, Russian Literature, magical realism, some fantasy and Sci-fi. I also enjoy writing and hope to be a published author someday.
Looking forward to talking about books with you all. :)
Hi everyone,I love the romantic classics and I like a good romance, although I prefer the more light hearted comedy romances, like Bridget Jones, to anything over dramatic.
I also really love fantasy fiction - again stuff that is humorous like Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels.
Hello everyone. I'm Nina Erryck and I'm an author of Christian fiction, particularly romance and science fiction. I love reading romance (general and paranormal), science fiction and thrillers. If i could, i would spend all my days in the world of fiction. Nice to meet you all.
Hello, everyone. Joined this group today, looking forward to interacting with people. I love reading horror, fantasy, science fiction. Think Stephen King, Robert McCammon, Rhodi Hawk, Michael Koryta, Vernor Vinge, Orson Scott Card, early Dean Koontz, Dan Simmons, Brandon Sanderson to name a few. Looking forward to interacting with like-minded readers.
Hi. My name is Whitney. I need good books to read. I devour books too fast to find new ones quickly to replace. I have a problem. :)
Can't remember if I've introduced myself so...I'm Andrew Kensley, reader and writer of "Seeking Blue." I love literary fiction now—Jhumpa Lahiri is my fave, but also Updike, Stewart O'Nan, Khaled Hosseini, Andre Dubus III, and non-fiction that I happen to be interested in at the time (baseball—Jonah Keri is awesome; travel (love Bill Bryson and some fun travel memoirs), etc. I really cut my teeth on old school sci-fi like Michael Crichton (read pretty much everything he wrote) and crime drama like Thomas Harris and Nelson Demille.
I truly love reading anything with solid characterization and quality prose. I love complex relationships and 3D characters, and inner meanings. Not really into the fluffy stuff. There I am, in a nutshell.
Thanks Ceri! I like to keep my brain engaged. And yes, I am enjoying it! Good way to network and learn about who's out there!
Hi all. My name is Chad and I am an author under the name C.A. McGroarty. Chad is short for Charles...don't ask. I write literary fiction that is commercially bent. I love to read fiction and have a particular fascination for Victorian mystery/horror fiction and am always looking for a good recommendation in that category if anyone has one. I am currently reading The Exorcist (for a 2nd time) in prep for a 2nd novel I am currently working on titled Agent of God. Thanks for the open invite!
Hello my name is Natasha and I write when the spirit moves me. I like reading erotica, scary books thriller horror and I have an uncanny ability of deja vu. I'm into astrology and I believe in karma good or bad. I like funny movies and movies with subtitles doesnt bother me. Maybe one day you'll read me and I will read you. Au revoir.
Hi everyone,My name is Vincent. I'm from Boston but I live in Taiwan (long story). My favorite genre is horror but I enjoy just about every kind of fiction.
Warm hallo from South-Africa!Wow what a group!...pretty sure some people around my office now think I'm a little crazy as I laughed myself into oblivion at some of the posts...love it!
I LOVE reading, mostly anything with a happy ending (as cliche as that sounds, I'm all about the happy ending) don't really care what form the characters come in, what they eat, hunt, do in their spare time...as long as i get my happy ending :)
Movies / TV series are no.4 on my fave things to do list (1.Writing; 2.Reading; 3.Riding off road) ...Action, Comedy, Romantic Comedy, Sci-fi...anything really except drama - cause i cry...always (no laughing please - but Lion King and Free Willy will not be seeing me again any time soon)
I talk...a lot...as you can see - so feel free to quiet me down every now and then.
Looking forward to sharing with everyone!
Sunshine Greetings

I need happy endings, too, Sterna! Especially with movies. Enjoyed your blog post "Buying Wine..." I buy wine by the case, which is a socially acceptable custom at Trader Joe's! Looking forward to more. :)
Hey y'all! I am Lynette and I love reading, writing, and telling stories! I come from a long line of "story tellers" but only a few published authors in my line. It seems I have been writing since I can remember! I love that this site is about the person, not so much their work. Thanks!
As a reader extraodinaire, it's so terrific to meet such a versatile and fabulous group of readers and writers, in other words great to see you all here....:-)
Hello, Everyone--My first reading interests are usually in SF, though I do have other tastes as well. My academic publications are mainly on authors like Ray Bradbury and Robert A. Heinlein, but my recent novel, Student Body, is best classified as "literary fiction," I suppose.
Hi,I am a new author, from the UK, with roots in Canada, and living in the French Alps.
I am greatly inspired by the mountains, especially in winter time.

Hi My names Dominic Cooper I prefer to read Beat Novels but not exclusively. I am currently reading Envy by Yuri Olesha. I have written two books myself not in that genre. I am currently liing in Italy writing and painting. Ciao
Hi, I've been meaning to introduce myself for what seems like forever. I read mostly women's fiction and erotic romance. But, I've enjoyed a lot of fantasy and sci-fi in the last few decades. My PR career has pretty much cured me of reading non-fiction. (If I never read another book on customer satisfaction, branding and leadership, it'd be okay with me. ;-)) Oh, and I'm also a new writer of erotic romance. Cheers! ~Elizabeth
Hi Everyone, I read fiction of all kinds, but my favorites are romantic suspense, action, adventure, historical, political, and travel. Haven't seen a new movie in years (teardrop) because I am hard of hearing. My occupation is author publisher, and I live in Michigan.
Hi everyone,I read all kinds of books, so I guess I don't have a fav genre, although I esp. like fiction (one of my fav books are HP and TLOTR), I like watching movies and TV-series (GoT, NCIS,...), and listen to all kinds of music. I currently go to high school, and I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bye
I'm a Special Education teacher living in Northern New York with my wife and 12 year old son and 2 rescue Labradors in a small house in a big forest.I like to read primarily mysteries and thrillers and science fiction. I also enjoy camping and cooking and geocaching and canoeing and reading online articles/blogs in my vastly varied fields of interests.
I teach in the only public school in New York State that has been granted a liquor license, and live in a small town that is frequently the coldest spot in the lower 48 states.
I look forward to exploring this group and getting to know the place.
Thanks,
Jamie
Hello! Who doesn't love a good book club?!? I adore pretty much all types of books except I'm not a big fan of romance. I'm a mom of 2 and a perpetual volunteer for various non-profits, committees, and school/sport events.
You'd be hard pressed to ever find me without a book on hand.
Jamie wrote: "I teach in the only public school in New York State that has been granted a liquor license..."Now that's what I like to hear!
Welcome JamieThat is all very interesting, but my first thought, for once, wasn't about books.
What do you use for geocaching? I have yet to find a gadget that will download and obviously you have.
I found a cache by chance, out walking my dogs, and I've been fascinated, and frustrated, ever since.

Hi, ladies and gentleman. I am an avid reader of many types of books. Fiction- paranormal, crime, adventure, romance, western, comedy, and mysteries. Basically anything that keeps my attention and takes me out of my world for a few moments. I have three children and a husband thus the need to escape for some mommy time. I have also started writing and we will see where that ends up. I love a good discussion and different points of view.

Thank you so much Ceri
Hello, I am Elizabeth, I write memoirs about paranormal/extraterrestrial experiences, and I plan to write western historical fiction and environmental fiction in the future. CS Lewis and Tolkein are dearest to my heart, as is Phillip K. Dick, but western fiction entertains me, especially works by Larry McMurtry (the serial killer of every great character - I mean, the man killed GUS.)and Craig Johnson. I live in the mountain back-country and I drive a truck. Don't mess with my red pony mare. She'll bite you.
Hi. I'm Steven. I favor reading classic literature, but am also ever interested in what gay authors are doing these days. Most recently I was blown away by Jack London's The Sea Wolf, a book I mistakenly thought would be the equivalent of watching a John Wayne movie. Instead it offered plenty of philosophical and spiritual food for thought along with all the peril at sea, and was no less homo-erotic than Billy Budd t'boot. I am now enjoying H.P. Lovecraft's Tales, the perfect book to get one in the mood for Halloween.
Hi guys and gals, I am Bee from "The Bee Writes..." a blog about writing, poetry, creativity, books and authors. I love to read fantasy, criminal stories, translated literature, poetry and lately have discovered YA, erotic stories and romance.I actually read pretty much everything that comes under my eyes ;-). Am looking forward to be part of this group as I love to read and support self-published authors. Take care. Have to go now and get this months self-pub book.....
Hi, I'm Nancy. I'm glad I found this discussion group. Interesting topics! After a great career in teaching, I write young adult novels. I am with a small press publisher. I want to read more YA and get suggestions. Also, want to expand my horizons. So looking for other book suggestions.
