My favorites are Catherine Morland and Elinor Dashwood. As a book lover with an overactive imagination, Catherine just gets me. She was so amusing/endearing to read about. Meanwhile Elinor is everything I admire and aspire to be. I wish I was less of an open book and could be more emotionally reserved like her. Her dedication to her family in hard times is beautiful too.
Mr. Knightley had my heart from page one of Emma and will always be my favorite Jane Austen man. And Henry Tilney is definitely my second favorite.

Mr. Knightley is my favorite leading man of Jane Austen. He is a complete gem and I love reading his line “I don't approve of surprises. The pleasure is never enhanced and the inconvenience is considerable.” I never got what was so great about surprises either.
As for leading woman I just can’t decide between Elinor and Elizabeth. Two amazing women in two wonderfully delightful books that I reread yearly. So...both!

That said, I do still love Lizzie. I also really like Elinor Dashwood (though her sister drives me insane).
I hope to re-read Northanger Abbey soon (saw the film recently after I visited Lismore Castle, the place where it was filmed), and liked the film version of Catherine Moreland, but I'll have to wait for the re-read to see if I still like book version of her, since I haven't read Northanger since I was in high school.
