Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Kari, you're right. :( BUT you won the e-book, so all is right with the world. :)

I got another review! Christie Craig said “Charming and witty. Abigail Sharpe will delight you.”

LESS THAN FOUR HOURS, Y'ALL!!! ACK!!!

Happy release day!

message 55: by JJ (new)

JJ Abigail, Congratulations on your new release!!

My husband's father was called "Cowboy," and both he and his brother kinda get tagged with that nickname too. Now I know I'm gonna have to pick this up!

Your technical writing sis in East Central Florida,
Jessi

Leslie (chibilee02) Just got an email telling me I won an ebook version of the book! Woo-hoo! *happy dance* Already got it downloaded to my Kindle app. So I will try to get to it as soon as I can.

Also hoping to win the paper book version also. Yes, I am greedy! Mwuahahahah!!

message 57: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Yay!!! I'm glad at least one of the ladies of HEAC won. And *insert shameless plug here* I would appreciate an HONEST review.

Alas, you did not win the paperback.

message 58: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Woo-hoo! Feel so honored! Lol

Well that's alright. Least I got the ebook version.

Don't worry, I always try to give an honest review on all the books I read. Just don't hate me at the end of it! Lol

message 59: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments I think low-starred reviews add legitimacy, actually. Of course, I say that, but I haven't gotten one yet. *grin*

message 60: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) If the book deserves it, I don't hesitate giving giving low stars. Although I have yet to come across a book that I have given a one star (and hope never to do so in the future).

message 61: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments ... I don't think I've given a one-star review, either. I think it would more of a DNF. Why would I keep reading if I hate it?

Jessi, I didn't see your comment earlier. My heroine calls the hero Cowboy. Kinda an obvious nickname, but it works. :)

More e-copies up for grabs on Ramblings from this Chick

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments *whew* got a two-star review but I'm not sobbing in my corn flakes. I'm glad I got it out of the way, though, because I hate anticipation.

And guess what I did? I took the POD version of my book and shelved it in my local book store. Hee hee hee. Clicky here to see.

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Thanks, guys. I think it looks like it belongs there, too. Now to convince my editor... :)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Another chance to win! I'm on NYT best selling author Christie Craig's blog today asking a very important question: boxers or briefs?

Enjoy snippets of the story.

message 73: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Ok Abigail, finally got around to Ainsley and Riley. Lol Sorry it took so long. But I started it yesterday, and I'm really enjoying it so far.

First off, you're a great writer. I'm picky about a book's writing style/narrative, but you're good.

Second, did you plan on including Cecelia and Edward's predicament in the book from the start? Have you thought about doing a separate book for them?

And is bad of me to want to smack Edward and especially Jewel? Lol God, women can be so mean...lol

Looking forward to the rest of the book. Hopefully Ainsely and Riley can finally get some time to themselves lol

message 74: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Leslie, you made me smile. :) And yes, it's okay if you want to hit Jewel and Edward upside the head. *grin*

Funny story with Cecelia and Edward. Cecelia did not exist in the first version of the book. Also, the book was at 77K words and an agent asked me to make it longer, so I included Edward's POV. She rejected me. *laugh* So, no, I didn't think to write their story from the start, though I thought Cecelia was a great addition!

message 75: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Ah, it's always fascinating to read the process an author goes through w/their book.

I actually liked Cecilia. I could easily se her character being overdone, but there was a nice balance there. To be honest, I wasn't sure about having their storyline included. I kinda felt it was out of place, but the more I read, it made me think that it served to explain Edward's change and provide Ainsley an escape from him.

Oh btw, I finished the book and will do a review later when I get to my laptop. I only wished Ainsley got to kick all the other women's asses! I was looking for a scene like that. They deserved it, especially Jewel.

Anyways good work! Keep it up. Glad to see a second book coming. ^_^

message 76: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments So your instincts were right, since you didn't feel like she belonged at first. I find *that* interesting.

I love my review! Thank you. :)

message 77: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Glad you liked the review. Was kinda nervous about it. lol

That's why I read a book through to the end, for the possibility that my feelings/instincts may change as I read more. Like it did with your book regarding Cecilia/Edward. So when I write a review, good or bad, I want to know I'm fully informed.

I'm anal like that. lol

message 78: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments The downfall of knowing authors, right?

Another interesting tidbit - my original story ended with E and C getting married in South Carolina and Riley crashing the wedding because Meagan let him believe Ainsley was the one getting married.

That was a really long sentence. :)

message 79: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Lol exactly! But I did let you know I try to best honest with my reviews, good or bad. I always let them know that so they know what they're getting into and can't be mad at me for a less than stellar review.

Wow...that ending sounds good too! Reminds me of that scene from The Graduate. Imagine Riley pulling that off! Lol

message 80: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments I know, how sick are y'all of hearing about my Cowboy already, right? Just let him rustle up some sheep and leave him alone.

BUT

I got a fabulous review from Romance Junkies. It mentioned about how the reader got so angry while she was reading at one part, and I was so thrilled that I was able to get that emotion out of her. It's what all authors live for, right?
