There's no need to combine anything here. If the box has it's own ISBN number you can add it just as the example above.

This sounds like the ISBN is for the set and not each individual book. In this case, only one book should be added to the database with the ISBN number listed on the books. Then each book can be listed in the title, something like this: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24...

HELP FILES:
Merging whole-series placeholders
If a book series is not packaged by the publisher as one item (such as a boxed set), the series should not be created as a fake book. Any user-created series objects should be merged into the boxed set for the series (if available) or the first book of the series (if no boxed set or similar publisher-created series item is available)."
A fake book is different from a NAB. NAB is an item that has an ISBN but is not a conventional book (puzzles, blank journals, dvds, etc). If we delete such books they will continue to be reimported by the data feeds that come into Goodreads. NAB'ing the book keeps it in the database, but hides it from view.
A fake book is a book that a user makes that does not exist as a book. Say the series SuperAwesome has 8 books. The publisher has released them in two boxed sets of 4 books each. The only options to buy this series is to buy each individual book or to buy the two sets of 4. A user may add a book titled "SuperAwesome Series" in order to rate/review the series as a whole. This is a whole-series placeholder is, which is (from what information you gave) irrelevant to what you are looking to do.
