message 354: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments Me, Alycia and couple of other people think about reading Stephen King's 11/22/63. Is there any one else interested, what date would be the most suitable? I was thinking about September or October, but I'm able to adjust to almost every date.

I'm in :) Just picked this up from a small town library fundraiser that I saw while I was on vacation there last week. Would mid-October be too late?

message 356: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1467 comments I would like to join in if I can squeeze it in. Mid October would be best for me if I can even fit it in at all.

I'd like to join. This one has been in my TBR for awhile as well, mid-october would be perfect for me.

message 358: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments So it is agreed, we start buddy read on 15th of October, I will set the thread later today or tomorrow. Thanks for all your answers :)

message 359: by Linda (new)

Linda | 24 comments I have never done a buddy read, but I am interested in reading this book with you. The 15th of October works for me too. Still room for me? :)

Hi Linda! Anyone can join a buddy read at any time. When the start date comes up you just read the book and join the discussion.

The list of buddy reads that have already been planned is here:

http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

All the individual book threads are here:

http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

And if you have a book that you want to read and would like a buddy to read it with you, then you just post it in this thread that we're in now. Welcome to the buddy reads! Feel free to join any buddy reads that you'd like. :)

I noticed that a few of us have A Week in Winter by Maeve Binchy on our TBRs. Would anyone be interested in scheduling a buddy read for this in November? I know thats still a long way out, but I don't know if 'll be able to squeeze it in before that with all the other fun reads we have planned!

message 366: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1467 comments God - I am gonna be reading a lot of Stephen King with the Dark Tower series series and this.

message 367: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments Kristie, I'm in for this buddy read, November is fine with me :)

Excellent! I'll set up a thread. :) I'll make it Nov 10th because Unwind is on the first, unless that doesn't work for anyone.

Elizabeth - We'd love to have you join us! :)

Michael Anima wrote: "Hi Lynn, I set up a new thread for a buddy read of 11/22/63 from October 15th. :)"

Hey, this looks like it is in the calendar for November 15 instead of October 15. Are you the person to fix this, Lynn?

I will try to join if I can. I love the idea of reading Stephen King for Halloween!

message 379: by Lynn, Moderator (new)

Lynn | 4472 comments Mod
Whoops! Thanks for the heads up Michael, I will go and sort it now.

message 380: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1467 comments Well it should be started November... Nov 22. Hee hee

Lynn | 4472 comments Mod
LOL Sarah, that's probably why I got confused! :)

message 382: by Michael (new)

Michael :)

message 383: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments I think we can always move with the date for the sake of the anniversary.

message 384: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1467 comments I am good with whichever.

message 385: by Linda (new)

Linda | 24 comments I am looking forward to it. Excited for my first buddy read, so I will go with whichever. Some thoughts: Nov. just before Thanksgiving, could be super busy with family/holiday/vacation for some in U. S. or it could be relaxing vacation time. No difference to me. Just a comment.

message 386: by Rida (new)

Rida Sajid | 195 comments Anima wrote: "So it is agreed, we start buddy read on 15th of Oct..."
My exams would start at the start of november so I'll read it at the start of oct but I'll surely join u all for discussion.

message 387: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments Ok, so because some have already planned this buddy read, let's stick to the original date :), October it is :) I'm looking forward to discussing this book within the buddy read :)

message 388: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1467 comments Sounds good. Leave it be.

message 389: by Michael (new)

Michael Sarah wrote: "Sounds good. Leave it be."

And we can always go back in time and change it later if necessary...

message 390: by Rida (new)

Rida Sajid | 195 comments Is anyone interested in reading Elite with me till next buddy read starts on 23rd? The Elite (The Selection, #2) by Kiera Cass
Anima said that next book would come in may and i was thinking that may be we could start a thread where we can discuss the whole series from Selection to the last book that may arrive in coming years,. I dont know if its allowed in the group or not.

I'm thinking about starting a few buddy reads if anyone is interested.

I'd like to read:
The Rosie Project towards the end of October (unless it magically wins BOM!)
Allegiant in the middle or end of November. Hopefully, people will be able to get it by then.
The Princess Bride sometime in December. Maybe mid-December?

Anyone interested??
The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion Allegiant (Divergent, #3) by Veronica Roth The Princess Bride by William Goldman

message 392: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments Kristie, I'm in for The Rosie Project and Allegiant :)

message 393: by Dana (new)

Dana Farmer | 20 comments Very interested in the first and last one! :). Princess Bride has been staring me down from the bookshelves for a while now! lol! Not so much the middle one as I have not read the others. Great suggestions!

message 394: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6841 comments Mod
Excellent Anima! Do you have any preference for dates? I was thinking maybe Oct 23 or so for The Rosie Project and Nov 20 or so for Allegiant? Do those work for you?

Dana - Would you like to join the reads? How does the above date work for you for The Rosie Project? And if you'd like to do a buddy read, would somewhere around Dec 15 work for you The Princess Bride? I've been wanting to read that one for a while too. I also need it for a challenge I'm doing, so I want to finally get to it. :)

message 395: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments I do not have any special plans for those months so far, thus all dates suit me :)

message 396: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6841 comments Mod
Sounds good! I'll set up the threads for Rosie & Allegiant.

Lynn - Could you please add them to our schedule?

message 397: by Dana (new)
