You can start whenever you like. Typically, if you request a book to buddy read, then you and whoever you are reading with choose the date to start. The choice awards reads are assigned to a specific month for discussion, but you can always join the discussion later.

I'm planning to read it too. I'll join. I might be a bit late. I have a couple books I need to read before that, but hopefully not too long after you start.
Actually amazon.fr released it on November 12 so I won't start before that date. And anyways I'm getting married that day so I don't think I will open a book before the end of that weekend.. I can open a thread for the 16th (monday) if that suits everyone. :)
Congratulations!!! You won't be reading on your wedding day? ;) Hope you have a wonderful day! The 16th would be perfect.
I just realized that I'm moving into my new home the beginning of November, so Winter will probably be the first new book delivered to my house. :) I pre-ordered the hardcover because I have paper copies of the others in my library.

Remember - anyone can suggest a book that they'd like to read with a buddy in this thread. It is not just for the nominee reads.
We have a buddy read for Winter starting on the 16th of November. The discussion thread is here and everyone is welcome to join.
I am just starting Career of Evil and Summer Secrets, if anyone wants to read either or both with me.

Hi everyone! Don't forget to vote in the nominee buddy read polls if you plan to participate! We have very few votes this month and a 5-way tie in historical fiction! Links are above in message 771.
For anyone interested in participating, the Choice Awards nominee buddy reads for December have been posted. Links are below. We had a tie for Historical Fiction, between A Burnable Book and The Miniaturist. The Miniaturist was an additional read in September, so I have linked the discussion for that.

A Burnable Book is a great read! I highly recommend it! I also really liked Brown Girl Dreaming. Don't think of it as a children's book or even poetry. It is a wonderfully moving memoir with great lessons for all of us!
I don't believe there are an abundance of horror fans in this group. But I saw a trailer for Krampus the other day (not sure if its related to the book) and I was intrigued.Does anyone want to read
with me some time in December, just before the holidays?
Sorry, Ally. I'd be interested, but I don't think I'll have time in December. I'm overrun with books through the end of the year and I'm going to be a bit busy with holiday stuff. I haven't even finished unpacking yet. (I'm not sure if my library has it anyway.) Good luck finding a buddy.
Thanks Kristie :) I've never read a "holiday book" and this is probably as close as I'll ever come :P Hahaha
