i'm sorry to say that i disagree. the book was certainly better which is usually the case however the movie wasn't that bad. there was a bit of drama and suspense that was missing from the movie and the love triangle didn't feel as deep but still i think that it was ok.
I was really eager to see the movie , but after reading what people think about I'm kinda disappointed, but I guess I'll watch it anyway !
I hated the book. So I'll most definitely not gonna watch the movie. Oh, guys, I just started a blog. Please check my review of it. If you wanna know why I hated it. :D http://yunoreadbooks.wordpress.com/20...
The redeeming qualities that made the book something worth reading... did not shine through in the movie. I've read the book twice, once when it came out and a couple weeks ago preparing myself for the movie release and I have to say I am very disappointed. Wanderer's acting was superb because she is an amazing actress... but the plot was lacking in depth in all the parts that actually catch the viewer.. the love triangle, the inner battle with the soul and her moral duty of honesty vs discovery of love and friendship, her struggle with captivity (her hole in the cave was much bigger in the movie than what was projected thru the book... there was plenty of room), the development of a relationship worth dying for with Ian... you don't see any of this through the movie, perhaps the book was too much to cover, perhaps it should have been split in two like the last book of the Twilight Saga.. either way, there was a LOT of potential for a film... it just didn't seem to be able to filter through.
I'm sure it was hard for them to show the depth of feelings and the inner thoughts and battles between Wanda and Mel , but that doesn't mean that they cannot make a good movie out of it , tho.
