If you can say yes to any one of those questions then THIS CONTEST IS MOST DEFINITELY FOR YOU.
The Mineola Library is challenging all to participate in a FUNdraising reading event. For a small fee of $5 Adult participants (18 years of age or older) can read for a chance to win a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card. Youth participants (17 years of age or younger) can read for a chance to win a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card. Alternative prizes include library tote bags and gift certificates to the library's used book sale. The challenge consists of completing a series of reading related events and sharing the experience with other readers by posting comments in a secure discussion board through the goodreads website. For every completed reading task you will earn chances for prizes. After the contest there will be a party for participants to announce winners (you do not need to be present to win). The money raised will be used to provide materials and services for library patrons. Call the library for information, or help with your reading challenges. (903) 569-2767.

You may only count books that you actually read, re-read, or listened to during the months of February 2013 through August 2013.
After completing a reading task, post a comment about the book you read and a picture of the book cover. A folder will kept for each contestant to track progress and list books. Tickets are earned for each completed task. Multiple tickets are awarded depending on the level of the task. Level 1 Task = one ticket Level 2 Task = two tickets Level 3 Tasks = three tickets Level 4 Tasks = four tickets Level 5 Tasks = five tickets Level 6 Tasks = six tickets Level 7 Tasks = seven tickets Level 8 Tasks = 50 tickets per 4-part task!
EXTRA POINTS!! There are several chances to earn extra tickets throughout the challenge. Be on the lookout for those!
PAGE COUNT TICKETS!! There are restrictions to the length of pages books are required to have. Books MUST be at least 32 pages in length! However, Beginning in Level 4, unless stated otherwise, there is a 100 page minimum per book if you are 13 years of age or older. To increase the number of chances in the ticket draw, extra tickets will be awarded for every 500 pages read at the Wrap Up Party .. You will need to be present to claim these tickets. You are responsible for posting the number of pages for each book you read, so that progress can be totaled throughout the duration of the contest. If YOU DO NOT post your page count, it won't be added to your page total.
* All comments need to be posted by 5:30pm, close of business day, on August 29th in order to be counted. * Each task can only be counted ONCE and each book can only be used for one task. Tasks can be completed in any order. *If a task requires reading more than one book and is unfinished at the end of the contest it can not be counted. *Re-reads, audio books, and e-books all count (unless otherwise stated in the task). Books that were read for previous challenges can be used ONLY if you re-read them specifically for this challenge. *Please remember that I will give you credit for your posts as time permits me. As much as I enjoy hosting this challenge, I do have a full-time job and can't always update credits as soon as they are posted to Goodreads.
