Hi Karen. :D Sorry I am so late in replying, but I had to organize my mind about Age of Miracles. I liked it and gave it 3 stars, but it had several problems (to my thinking. lol)

(view spoiler)

:D I am really liking Gods of Gotham so far. :D

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) finished two books:
Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb & Unleash the Night (Dark-Hunter, #9; Were-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Are we still playing for cupcakes?

TC submitted books hour ago (we had to wait till June 9th to do that. ☺). We'll know tomorrow if we are good or not.

But we are continuing Hobbit June game. :D It's easy and it doesn't need read planning. We'll know in week or two about our August game and let you all know.
So counting books:
160-250 pg - 10pt
251-500 pg - 1pt
over 501 pg - 5pt
.

Any thoughts on Roarke?

I'm listening to Immortal in Death (In Death, #3) by J.D. Robb

Unleash the Night (Dark-Hunter, #9; Were-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon 378 pages (1 point); Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb 306 pages (1 point)

I listened to Naked in Death and i will listen to books 2 & 3 before deciding if I will continue. I didn't love it, but I am curious (and intimidated )about a series that has like 80 sequels.

Roarke seemed too good to be true. I was expecting to hear that he was in league with the murderers. Either that or his butler was in on it. I am still waiting for some stain to besmirch his character before I can truly appreciate him.

I also want to know more about Eve's past. i am really curious about that because I admire her survivor attitude. In book 1, I knew the bad guy(s) immediately...it was a matter of figuring out motive

Since I'm sooo far ahead of you (on book 3 ☺) I'm scared to say anything because of spoilers.

I agree that Roarke is too good to be true but the narrator got him so good, I'm drooling every time he's in the scene (It's the accent ☺). Actually the only reason I started it as audio is because I needed something to listen while working (so I don't fall back) and this was free at library. ☺ I'm not sorry. Already have few others reserved.
I didn't like Eve in first book. Didn't like her attitude (not that survivors you're talking about, but toward people). But in second and third she's starting to grow on me. She didn't change, I just got used to her.
I still don't see them as a couple.

We are reading too many mysteries since we can figure out who done it pretty soon. ☺

I do like the narrator's voice for Roarke too. I will keep going. After Eve's session with the shrink, that is when I cut her some slack on her hardness.

Agreed that I don't buy Eve & Roarke together yet. I am giving that series 3 books before i say sayonara!

Beg your library to order them. it's worth it. There are only 3 series that I have listened to every book on audio--Sookie Stackhouse & Mercy Thompson& Elemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep

(well, and all Lisa Kleypas books narrated by Rosalyn Landor)

I am going to have to wait until the 3rd book to try listening to them. I am just about to start the 2nd book Glory in Death and my library doesn't have it in audio.

I enjoyed the first one this time. I had tried it before and didn't get into it so never finished it. I think my tastes are changing as I read more. I didn't use to read paranormal books and now I find myself enjoying them too.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) Can we get extra points if we read a book with "Cerulean" in the title? There is a freebie Cerulean by Anna Kyss ..or an Anita Blake book Cerulean Sins (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #11) by Laurell K. Hamilton .

Any woo!
I have finished 2 books:
Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead (594 pages) & Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) by Tara Sivec (286 pages)

We are done with 7% challenge. We got 4 advantage books from it and 5 cupcakes.

We also have 15 cupcakes to exchange for extra books - books over 450 pg (confirmed from mods) with use of special type of cupcake can count as 2. TC is working on the list.

Maybe free kindle downloads! They are usually light and fluffy :)

A very different series, but I would recommend the Morris Gleitzman books
Once by Morris Gleitzman Then by Morris Gleitzman After by Morris Gleitzman
They tell the story of Felix who is a young Jewish boy in Nazi occupied Poland. They are just really beautiful books ("now" is also technically part of the series, but doesn't follow the storyline and isn't necessary to it). Aimed at kids, but that is why I liked them as it tells the stories from a child's perspective

It was good. I've listened to audiobook mostly and narrator was great. I think he made it better.
It loved it how she put BDB characters in it. Of course if you didn't read BDB you wouldn't know it's them. I'm looking for second book now.

Well they are only around 180 pages each so don't take long to read ;) And I highly recommend the audio which is narrated by the author. I love it when that happens as you get the 'true' intent of the books.
