RaT mini challenge

Mini-Challenge #13: Location Covers

Find and post two book covers that depict your favorite holiday destination. Be sure they show a distinct location or icon monument.

Example: If you favorite place to vacation is San Francisco then these covers, showing the Golden Gate Bridge, would work:

Samson's Lovely Mortal (Scanguards Vampires, #1) by Tina Folsom Forbidden Magic (Magic, #1) by Cheyenne McCray

Suggest by Team Electric Lime

NOTE: Mini-Challenges are valid from the moment they are posted till the end of the Read-a-thon. You can do them by any order, as many times as you want, as long as you use the tag: Mini-Challenge #number

If you want to play, post your answers HERE

RaT mini challenge

Mini-Challenge #14: Book Chain

While smoking their stash of pipe weed (adult Hobbits only!), co-captains of Hobbit Team (aka Cerulean) came with great idea for RaT mini-challenge.

The way they explained it, as best they could, follows. :D

It's book chain.

One of the Captains (or Mods) post a book/cover; next one has to match it by author's first/last name; or word in title; or something on the cover, and so on.

Suggested by Team Cerulean (AKA "Hobbit Blue")

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) Finished Dearly, Departed (Gone With the Respiration, #1) by Lia Habel . (470 pages). It was okay for a zombie book. It was not gory

Turtlecollector Dennis | 1164 comments @md - Since you said you read the book on your challenge shelf, you need to add the read date to it and mark it as read. It is not counting towards anything right now. You have 10 1/2 hrs from now to mark it as read to count for the Read-a-Thon, otherwise whenever you add it, it will only count toward the team total.

message 566: by md (new)

md | 83 comments have finished thief! & hackers (blue book). the blue cover is only on the large print book on goodreads (I read the non large print version) but I wondered if it might be okay to use that version since I've already met my page count? if not I'll try to read another blue book! *goes to find one just in case*

Turtlecollector Dennis | 1164 comments md wrote: "have finished thief! & hackers (blue book). the blue cover is only on the large print book on goodreads (I read the non large print version) but I wondered if it might be okay to use that version s..."

You need to mark them as read with a date but you don't need another blue book. We can use the book you already read. Only 5 more hours to go.

Finally finished Winter of the World (The Century Trilogy #2) by Ken Follett and with that I've read my 800+ of the 500 pages I'd put down as my RaT goal.

Plus it counts as a historical read, so bonus point for that!

message 572: by ❀Tea❀ (last edited May 12, 2013 06:32AM) (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments You have little less that 2 hours to mark your book as read to count for Read-a-Thon.

So far:
10/11 goals reached
10/11 theme books
9/11 cover books

Great work everyone!

Good job everybody on reaching their goal, Melissa that's as a bit unfortunate but you did do it :)

I LOVED Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver. Its one of my favorite YA's. She took a slightly above average Delirium and just came correct with that sequel. The final book requiem didn't hit the spot, but Pandemonium should great growth for Lena!

I have to read both Mortal Instruments & Divergent for challenges, so I think I will start with Mortal Instruments. Better to start with the weaker and end on a higher note. If I read Divergent and it is so good, then I will hate Mortal Insturments so bring me down :)

Turtlecollector Dennis | 1164 comments I agree with Ezi. I liked the first two books of the Delirium series but the third one, Reqiuem, was disappointing and not what I was expecting.
