LMBO!

Also, I looked at a few reviews for Imke's book -- so many of them mention that hot cover, hehehe.

But if we have to pick the way Teresa has it above, I vote for going with Cadet Blue as well. Not sure if I have anything Bronze though. I wouldn't mind some examples of what counts for bronze. Blue is easy.

LK -- Do we get to choose which team for both tasks separately or together? Like, can we do "ahead" from Cadet Blue's standings and "behind" from Pewter Blue's? Or does it have to be strictly one team's standing for both? I'm posting here exactly what each team's standings are now so we can discuss our options here.
Team Standings:
*Cadet Blue -- team ahead (Task #2: Color Ahead) = Blastoff Bronze.
team behind (Task #3: Color Behind) = B'dazzled Blue
*Pewter Blue -- team ahead (Task #2: Color Ahead) = Atomic Tangerine
team behind (Task #3: Color Behind) = Tumbleweed (*unless Tumbleweed is not a real team! That would put Wild Blue Yonder in its place here)
My Comments: If we can pick from either of our teams I'd want to go with Cadet Blue for "Task #3: Color Behind" (team B'dazzled Blue) because there are a ton of blue covers out there and I'm not really sure about tumbleweed. I suppose we could look around for cover color ideas before deciding for sure, though! Going with the same "if we can choose from either team", for "Task #2: Color Ahead", I nominate Pewter Blue (team Atomic Tangerine).

Pewter Blue, you have two new members. Please welcome them: Sarah (US) {Name Alert} (055) and Vicky (100).

I think I did everything I need to be official and I'll drop a link to my pewter-blue shelf here.
I've been in Canada visiting my fiancee and am getting ready to make the 8 hour drive back home so I'll take a look at the challenges tonight or tomorrow and see what I've got that will fit! :)

Yes, Vicky, you've got a complete row of little icons on the Team Assignment Spreadsheet: ✔★✖❀. Thanks!
Safe Journey.
We didn't know if you made a final decision on this or not, so we are just advising you:
Due to the difficulty of finding mauve, lime, tangerine (orange), and bronze, we will allow those colors to appear in titles. Or where the color "pops."
Acceptable Examples: (color respective to above order)
IN ADDITION:
Since Atomic Tangerine is such a difficulty color to find, even in the title of a book, we will allow Orange Prize books to be counted for this color.
Orange Prize for Fiction Winners
The Orange Prize for Fiction is one of the United Kingdom's most prestigious literary prizes, awarded annually for the best original full-length novel by a female author of any nationality, written in English and published in the UK in the preceding year.
Two listopias are:
Orange Prize for Fiction Winners
Orange Prize for Fiction Longlist

I'm 99% sure we're going with Cadet Blue's standings. (Discussed elsewhere, can't find the link just now). Nobody has said "NO!" to that idea, so far!
Since Pewter & Cadet Blue are joining forces for the 7% Solution Challenge, we have selected those members to create our combined Team.
Anyone can see them on the second page of the Team Assignment Spreadsheet entitled "Pewter/Cadet Blue 7% Challenge Members."
This doesn't effect Category #1 - "Behind Enemy Lines." Doesn't really affect #2 & #3 - "ahead" and "behind" - either. This is more of an FYI for you.

@Sarah and Vicky, welcome to the team.

Love that cover, Imke!! LOL!!

But, Teresa, you'd be skipping a lot sex scenes, so if I see it on your shelf, I'll know to only give you credit for reading half. LOL! Just kidding.

Well, depends on my mood, haha. If I'm in the mood to not skim then I wouldn't, but *most* of the time I just kind of skim, depends on how they are written, too.

Don't finish Quiet until the first - we can use it for a steal for #1 in 49 challenge.

I was just reading (and re-reading) over all the rules and I had a few general questions but I wasn't sure where would be best to ask them, so I'm going to ask them here. :P
For audiobooks/ebooks do we always need to check in for page numbers? Or is it only if there's no paper copy to check it against or there is something otherwise out of the ordinary going on?
And just to double check that I'm following this right. For the regular cupcake puzzles there is no extra benefit from multiple team members submitting the solution, but the more of us who participate in the blinkie cupcake puzzles the more options we have for substituting books later?

Sarah wrote: "QUESTION - since we r teamed up with Cadet Blue can we still go behind enemy lines are their bookshelves and vice versa??"
We believe that would give you an unfair advantage. It is too similar to the what the "blinkie" cupcake gives you.
So, no, that is not an option.

I have to confess that I don't quite understand the cupcake thing fully.
To be honest, I was hoping we woudln't need to worry about cupcakes. We seem to have enough books to fill in our 49 books w/o using any cupcakes.

I was a bit confused about it, but I read the "How You Can Use Your Cupcakes" section about a million times yesterday and I think I figured it out (someone correct me if I'm wrong!).
For 7 cupcakes we get a free pass for any one book slot in the challenge. With 28 cupcakes a team could cash in for up to 4 free passes, which would leave them 4 less books to read.
For 6 cupcakes (the blinkie cupcake) we can use any book that a qualifying team member has read in 2013 to fill the task. Qualifying team members are listed on the colored columns on the cupcake spreadsheet (which look to be people who have done puzzles that require an e-mailed solution), you can use each team member up to the number of times they appear. So, if Lisa Kay is on 2 colored columns and Teresa is on 1, we can use 2 books from Lisa Kay and 1 book from Teresa. The book we use has to match the challenge you are substituting for - to substitute for Color Ahead the book would have to be bronze - but it can be read any time in 2013 and can be less than 160 pages.
But, I agree it would be a good strategy to hold on to them until later if we can easily fill all the categories with books we read. :)
Sounds as if you understand it completely, Vicky. Great job.
Remember, when using a "blinkie" cupcake you have to use only five regular cupcakes along with it, as opposed to using a total of seven.

Thanks for letting me join your group.
I will spend a bit of time reading previous posts so I know what is going on, because I have no idea what the heck 'cupcakes' are ;)

Thanks again,

If you need a quick break from reading, games and puzzles for cupcakes are here.

Thanks for having me!
I am still confused on cupcakes and not I entirely sure how the 7% Challenge works but I will try to sort all this out tonight when I have more time time to think ;). Maybe with a little help and guidance from friends I'll get through it LOL
I guess the main priority is to keep reading no matter what the book is, correct?
