Glad to have you on board.

• Click on the "add book/author link above the text box which you're typing in for the discussion.
• Notice a search box or “look-up” opens up and at the bottom the words
add: ⦿ link 〇coverThe little blue dot is will always first default to link unless you click on cover.
• Type in the title you of the book you desire, and click "search".
• Click on the "add" button next to the option you want to include and the html for the cover will appear in your text box.
• Make sure that "cover" is chosen before you click the big “search” button, but if you forget, you can always put your cursor after the word “book” and before the colon: in the link and the bookcover will appear.
I'll put an asterisk* in the code so you can see the book numbers are the same:
[*book:Through a Dark Mist|7776013]
[*bookcover:Through a Dark Mist|7776013]
Results :
Through a Dark Mist = link

• If the bookcover that appears is not the one you want, simply click on "other editions" right under the add button. Page numbers are at the bottom of the "look-up". Browse until you find the cover you desire.
• Do a preview, if you like. Just click (preview) in parentheses in light grey to the right of the big post button.
Hope this helps!

I think we have enough active participants to get our 49 books in if I can get everyone coordinated.

Actually I might change up other books if they work for other letters and get us to a block of 7 easier.
Lets keep in mind that we can only do the spell it out thing for 21 books. If I see a book that will help us more in another category, then I'll move it there. But I'll get opinions first.

I'm going to try and make a list of books I want to read and see where they be placed today. Or at least over the weekend.
I can't believe it's arleady going to be June next week.

Thanks: 7%Finishedbooks

Is that too confusing?

I just thought it might be easier for me to see books that are finished if there's a seperate thread for only that.

I'm not quite sure of a good 'plan-of-attack' for this challenge, either, but I think that everyone is contributing greatly to helping to figure things out. I think things will come together in time and we'll both just have to try not to stress too much over the finer details.
I plan to post my list of 'planned reads' and what categories they should fit into and then asking as many questions as I need to for clarification! Such as, "If I read a book that contributes to ANY ROSE, will someone else have to complete the phrase ANY ROSE or do they just fill in 6 other books in that category?" Things like that. lol. My concern is that I don't want to say 'I have a book for blank category' and then make others feel obligated to finish out a category they had no interest in, you know? But, by the same token, I am perfectly fine with not having that book count at all if it means the entire team is not stressed out over it.
I think having people list their plans (as much as they feel comfortable doing so, without risking boredom or moodiness setting in, etc) can be helpful with what categories we can and need to fill.

So we could use 2 moon books, 3 flower books, an A book and an R book to make 7 or any combination of books. I'm glad someone asked over there because I had assumed we could only use each thing once to get our 7 of it: 1 moon book, 1 flower etc.., but I was wrong.
For the #5 spell it out, we can only use the letters for the # of times they are in there. But there's more than enough letters in that for us to use it for 3 turns.

Yep, I have that part about the number of times we can use letters for #5...filed away in the brain, lol. If I write down any options that would fulfill more than the allotted number, it's just to have a variety of choices. Okay, must dash off!

I find it interesting that some people - but not all - are stressing over it; I wish they would not. A forty-nine book goal is only 27% of what each Team will probably read during that period, if not less. Everyone has a different opinion as to which category is hard, but you have the option of eliminating that one, easily.
So many different reactions.

So I'll probably fill in books as they are finished and then move them around if needed.
Right now I'm just taking what people think they might read as a guide so we can see if we have any gaping holes. But it looks to me like we can do this pretty easy with the active players we have. We seem to have every category # pretty much covered. The only thing we seem to have nothing for is buddy reads but I don't think we need them.

~ For August the Mods are Taking the Month Off...and Letting You Do the All the Work ~
Team Captains, Co-Captains and Team Members may create and submit their own challenge for Book Advantage Points.
It may be one of your previous mini-challenges, or one in the works.
The challenge must last two weeks, you decide when in August.
Each Team will do their own challenge that they created.
Please submit your ideas, detailing your goals and time period by July 26th for review.
We will look them all over before deciding upon the number of Book Advantage Points to be given. We may then ask you to tweak your challenge a bit to make it equal in ease or difficulty, depending on what the other Teams are doing.
HINT: Think light, easy, breezy, and FUN!
Q1. "We're feeling really lazy. May we just copy another Team's idea?"~ Frequently Asked Questions -
A1. Definitely. Just give credit where credit is due.
Q2. "Should we use the cupcakes in some way?"
A2. While there will be cupcakes offered to win during your Teams' challenge period, we will save using them for future months.

I am not going to use Dracula for a buddy read because it fits the 7 letter title category and I decided I'm not sure if I'll be able to participate in the DQ for the book. I need to play the DQ by ear for June because I have a lot going on, with my kiddo getting out of school. We shall see!

We have 28 now, Mrs. Dresden. I figured I deserved at least two cupcakes for doing all those puzzles.
Pewter Blue/Cadet Blue, pick which Team you want to use for the 7% Solution Ahead/Behind and stick with it for the end of June update, too.

I am not particular about which color we choose but I would say not green. We can already use green covers for one of the other categories. So I think we should give ourselves more options by going with 2 other colors.

I need to re-read the rule on the before/after thing and then I'll come put in my 2 cents!

Team Standings:
*Cadet Blue -- team ahead (Task #2: Color Ahead) = Blastoff Bronze.
team behind (Task #3: Color Behind) = B'dazzled Blue
*Pewter Blue -- team ahead (Task #2: Color Ahead) = Atomic Tangerine
team behind (Task #3: Color Behind) = Tumbleweed
My Comments: If we can pick from either of our teams I'd want to go with Cadet Blue for "Task #3: Color Behind" (team B'dazzled Blue) because there are a ton of blue covers out there and I'm not really sure about tumbleweed. I suppose we could look around for cover color ideas before deciding for sure, though! Going with the same "if we can choose from either team", for "Task #2: Color Ahead", I nominate Pewter Blue (team Atomic Tangerine).
However, if we can choose only one team for BOTH tasks, I need to do more research on covers before finalizing my nomination! Going to do that after I eat breakfast.

If that's the only challenge someone else feels that they can do please post what letters you can do. I'm sure someone can move their books to something else. I know I could. Plus you never know when real life will keep someone from reading what they had planned.
