Remember all the mini-challenges are optional. They are just for fun and to encourage team interraction. We do get bonus points for the August one so the more who participate the easier it will be to earn bonus points.

August-Challenge-Discussion This is where we discussed our ideas to submit to the mods for the challenge.

Great thanks. So I am your new leader. It might take me some time to get set up because I didn't know for sure that I was going to be captain until today. Then I worked all day and after work I had to go to my parents and help them remove chicken wire fencing around their vegetable bed. Then I came home and made dinner and I'm really tired. But I'll see if I can get some stuff started. Going to peruse the other teams to figure out what info I need here.
Although I can't access the Pewter_Blue_Spreadsheet *pouts* I did add Pewter Blue to the Team's summary spreadsheet.
All members had joined the challenge and the team's total is now 48 books.
Happy Readings

Mary: Harry Dresden's Love Slave wrote: "How do I make it viewable to everyone?"Mary - In the upper right hand corner there is a "share" button. Click on that. A window should pop up showing share settings.
About the middle of the screen is options - Who has access. Click on the "Change" link and if you change the option to "anyone with the link" then your team should be able to view the spreadsheet.
Hope this helps!
LOL! I hope so, too. I think we'll mention it again in the NBRC newsletter that sign-ups are still open. Or maybe I should on the Bulletin Board? Of course, then we might get those "bogus" accounts asking to sign-up.
I guess I thought when they opened a new team it was because there were several players waiting. Because it didn't seam to me like Cadet Blue had enough players but then I haven't looked a the player counts on the other teams.
Well, I've got to put the members someone where. I can't keep staking the deck for Cadet Blue. LOL! We already had an advantage in the R-a-T. Well, at least according to the numbers.
Well I certainly don't mind manning a team. It just seems like it isn't much of a team. Ok that sounds wrong. I mean it's a team that doesn't post much in the threads. I don't know what to post in the team threads. Maybe I should send a PM with links team message threads.
Please be advised that the link to the

I also did an update.
I also did an update.
*pokes Mary:HDLS* Hello! I miss you and LK!Have fun!
I'm very sleepy so this is not my most verbose, lol. I'm even too tired to find and post an image. I'll come pester you guys again soon!
It's been insanely slow this week at work and I've gotten a lot of reading done. I've been reading longer books though so my numbers are still low. I've got one more doorstopper to read this month for another challenge. I got it from the library on both Kindle and audio so hopefully I can through it by the end of the month:
. (eta: some editions say 400+ but my Kindle says 196)I need something short to break them up though. (also to connect Ayn Rand to Haruki Murakmi in another author chain type challenge). So today I am reading:
. It's only 200 pages and if work stays as it is for the rest of the day, I'll have it finished.
Hi Mary, I'm almost good to go. Made a shelf and set the number of books. I'm going to place books I have read after april 12 on this shelf.
Imke, if you tell me which cover was on your eBook for Memories of a Geisha, I'll add the cover.
Hi I hope you're all having a good weekend.Finished
yesterday and will finish
today. I'm still reading
. It's a good thing tomorrow is also a holiday here in Holland, so an extra reading day.Edit: finished Eve of Destruction.
I got through 3 CDs of
getting my vegetable bed started this morning. I planted some grape tomatoes:

and some lettuces:
Still have to plant my peppers, some other tomato plants and my herbs. This is the first year that I'm really doing a veggie garden. We have guinea pigs and I've grown herbs & lettuce in pots for them before. But this year I decided to do a full garden for us and the piggies.
So there's a 2 book difference between the team total which is 72 of 720 and when I add up everyone's individual stats which gives me 74 of 720. Is there a lag time between when the team total updates from when the books are logged in as read? I can't click and see all the books for the team at once. All the individual player status bars are up to date and match shelves. But I know I marked a book mailed just a short time ago and I see others having marked books read today. So maybe those 2 just haven't caught up to the team status bar?
It was confirmed that there's a lag time so it probably shows 74 now. I think we are in last place but there's only 5 of us with a total goal of 720 which isn't even the enough to win if we all hit our goal. So hopefully some more people will sign up and we'll have a shot.
@Mary:HDLS, looking at those pictures I wish I had a garden or at least a balcony for some potted plants. When everything is grown it will look and taste good. I had a nice relaxing day of reading, the weather was horrible here (raining all day and so cold).
I finished
today.Tomorrow it's back to work.
SOME CHANGES:
If only one Team completes this task, we will award them seven (7) additional books/points. If it is split, as it was for May, we will award each Team reaching the goal four (4) additional books/points. Any Team that completes at least three (3) of the following categories, for a total of 21 books, will receive a one (1) book advantage.
For the purposes of this challenge, and because their Team goals are so low, we are going to allow Cadet Blue and Pewter Blue to work together as a Team.
I'm a little confused as to how many books the players need to read. I only have 3 players, including myself who actively post on the boards, the other 2 just mark books read. So are 3 players supposed to get 49 books in, that work in the above categories, combined?
