Need Help with a Book Title: Girl works at a vets office [s]

Hi! I am looking for a book that is about a girl getting a job at a vets office and she has to talk slow because something happened to her (can't remember what) and she cleans the pens and puts food out and someone tries to get her fired, by setting off the alarm and almost killing a dog by feeding it the wrong food. And if I remember right, the guy's mom had a brain tumor and now she works at a pet store and the guy hates his dad for not helping with it. Any ideas?? Thanks for the help! :D

When did you read this Rachel? And was it a straight mystery or one of the thriller/mystery romances? Also, was it a YA or an adult book?

I read it only a couple months ago, I got my nexus for my birthday (last november)

It's a romance book. I think the only "mystery" part of the book was who was trying to get her fired.
