Kerry (libraryleo) | 13 comments Female lead, a private dective type person on a case, has a large dog that seems to my memory to be more than a dog (werewolf? shapeshifter?), the best part I remember is that she visits a casino and black and white movie charcters are in the bar, specifically William Powel as Nick Charles, and these living holograms help her gather info for her case. She dresses as a black and white character to met with them, rather like cosplay.

I remember this too. I'll check my book shelves tomorrow morning when I get up again, and see if I can find the title. At least, if I still HAVE it, that is. Sigh, so many books, such light support under house floors. . .

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments Time for a new house, if you ask me :D

So glad my house can (kinda) handle my books. I've been wishing it were designed better, reading on book storage - I've been told that books shouldn't be the outside walls, as there are more extremes of temperature there. I wish I had more flat/free space on interior walls...

The only suggestion I have is to change the title of this post, so that it mentions detective novel, or PI in the header/subject line.

And of course, wishing that Maureen Corrigan were reading this thread...

Sigh, going through my many thousands of books for you Kerry. Unfortunately, I'm just skimming them, and from what I'm remembering, the Shades (or Shadows or whatever they were called) isn't a huge part of the books. As a result, checking the backs isn't helping. And I don't really want to go in and re-read all of the ones that I think "might" be it. So here are a few for YOU to check out. :o)

Hard Magic
Under Wraps
Night Life

Like I said--not sure if that's them or not, but there are 3. Not enough time to do any more searching (it is the weekend, and I have a ton of errands to run) but I thought I'd list these any way.

Kerry (libraryleo) | 13 comments Thank you Ana for digging so deep! Above and beyond! Those all sound really close and I will be heading to library/store to check them out!

Dancing with Werewolves, Brimstone kiss and vampire sunrise. By Carole Nelson Douglas. The Delilah Street Paranormal Investigator series.

Congrats Kerry. Altho they aren't any of the few I found real fast. :o) But you DID remind me that I need to finish off this series and get them entered here on GR.
