No blabbin' on like Fran. No, she didn't deserve him.

May you all have someone love you, who you don't deserve and may you spend your lifetime together not taking it for granted.

I feel like it depends on how you look at it and interpret it. Katniss was thrown into these games with a chance of death at the beginning of the Hunger Games. Everyone responds to that sort of fear and stress differently so she did take it out on Peeta and didn't treat him in the nicest way. It could of been a way for her to cope, even though it isn't the best way. In Catching Fire and Mockingjay, she treats Peeta a lot better and realizes he is the only one that can truly cope with how she is feeling. I think at the beginning of the series she did not deserve him, but as the series continued she did.

Katniss doesn't deserve Peeta, but it was Peeta who fell in love with Katniss, and Katniss chose Peeta to lighten up her life. So, I don't know...

Well before I answer the question I want to say that Peeta is my favorite character because he is so sweet, kind, and I would want a boyfriend like that. If Katniss doesn't want Peeta I can have him.

Anyways I do believe at first that Katniss doesn't deserve Peeta because of what she does and kisses both guys. But then when she actually wants to sacrifice herself for Peeta then I think that she does deserve his love. She is very worried about Peeta that she goes insane without him. She truly loves Peeta. I admire Katniss because she sacrifices herself for herself and family. She's not like Bella from twilight that all cares about Edward and would give anything for him. So I think Peeta and Katniss are meant for each other.

She doesn't deserve him but they both make each other happy so it all works out.

This series is not a love story.... It is about war and PTSD....and children playing a part in the war... It is about an oppressive government and the immorality that we all can have in ourselves in dire situations.... Nothing katniss did was self centered.... In the beginning she was trying to keep her family alive... By the end everything she did was for the war... By the way she voted for a Capitol hunger games because she was trying to trick coin into trusting her so that she could kill her... She knew that the oppression was not going to end if coin remained in power... Evidently the point was missed by many here....

I don't think she desrves him at all because the whole time she is loving Gale and then all of a sudden she chooses Peeta

Katniss doesn't really deserve Peeta but after being in the horror of the games, no one else will be able to understand her and live with her but another victor.

He wants her and understands that he can't make her feel the way he wants her to. I love it that they ended up together.

Well, I wanted Katniss to end up alone and for the stupid love triangle to end. Gale and Peeta are both better people than her, and she deserves neither one of them.

If I could, I would swap Katniss and Finnick's fates...the only couple I ever cared about in the whole trilogy was Finnick and Annie and look how that turned out!

Exactly! One thing I learnt throughout the series is that, Haymitch, is NEVER WRONG. He's the wittiest & most clever of all and when he said: "You could live a hundred lifetimes and not deserve him, you know", to Katniss, I knew he's a 101% right.

I don't think she doesn't deserve him, but I think he's too good for her. He loves her so much, like real love, but she's just in love with him. I don't know why, but I see a huge difference between these two feelings. I just think that Peeta will love her forever, no matter what happens, but Katnis can easily stop being in love with him. But he would still care and look out for her. But don't get me wrong, I was so happy at the end when she chose Peeta 'cause I like him so much more than Gale, but I am not sure whether the feelings are equal...

Of corse Katniss does not DESERVE peeta ~.~ but she's who she is, and you can't make yourself to hate her, this is one series,wherein the whole team this and team that, you can't argue with . Cause things just happen, slowly engraving into flames, and well by the end of it all, all out of the window, it's just right. And ofcourse all through the series, kat does to a lot of noteworthy sacrificises blah blah, so it's all good.

Katniss doesn't deserve to Peeta, but Peeta's super in love with her, and he deserves her (or someone better than her), so it works out.

Peeta and Katniss are not, through the entire course of the 3-book series except the third book's epilogue, in a relationship. At the beginning, he has an unrequited crush on her even though he barely knows who she is as a person. They do get to know each other better through the games, but there's a tremendous amount of pretending, deception and manipulation - most of it outside the control of either one of them - in the relationship that develops. Their relationship can't exactly be called "healthy" when his reaction to seeing her is to try to strangle her to death. It's hardly fair to expect Katniss to be an ideal partner to Peeta when, other than events that we're not able to see after the conclusion of the third book, they haven't even been a real couple. Almost everything Katniss does in all three books, she does for the survival of herself and the people she loves. There isn't any room for romantic ideals when you're struggling just to stay alive and have some basic freedoms.

Yeah, I think she deserved to end up alone, but then I don't really like Katniss.
