ABANDONED. A woman is scared of a man she thinks is getting out of prison

I can't remember much about this book, it's been years but this woman is afraid this man that was in prison for doing something to her is getting out. She's at a bar with her friends 2 men 1 woman and she goes out to walk her dog and the man from prison is there. He grabs her but just to tell her that he's innocent he's not going to hurt her. I can't remember much more than that. It's romantic suspense and may be based in Louisiana, Mississippi or something like that. Thanks for any input!
