Alana All of Salvatore's Drizzt books and Stover's Acts of Caine series. And Mull's Fablehaven books.

Top three right there. Harry Potter might break top twenty.

Ruby The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien-- An epic story full of magic, monsters, mystical Middle Earth full of fantastic races, a Ring, a quest, a war, and an inner battle against tempation. I knew from the moment I read it.

Long live LotR and other ringbearers!

Megan Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger

Stephanie The BEST one? Probably Les Miserables, yeah :) That puppy took me like 7 or 8 months to read, but it truly is so gorgeously written, and one of my favorite stories!

But my FAVORITE always will be Harry Potter :) It really is the most magical world, with the most wonderful characters and heart <3 It shaped so much of who I am today, it really did.

Also, The Book Thief wins for best use of narrative voice! SUCH a unique a stunning writing style Marcus Zusak created, and it's an incredible story as well.

Also any of Khaled Hosseini's books because, again, the absolutely gorgeous writing style!! The Kite Runner was the one that stuck with me most, but again, all of his books were a privilege to read. Definitely not always a JOY- they're incredibly, gut wrenchingly sad at times- but beautiful stories nevertheless.

Elizabeth Hmm... depends on the day and my mood

Shaun Dainton Grapes of wrath
Crow road
Captain Correlli's mandolin
Songbird
