I really hope we don't lose Snap. She was moderating the Yahoogroup, so she may have thought it would be our home.
Shomeret

Julie emailed to say that she was glad we'd relocated in Goodreads and she would have to wait until April 16 (after tax season) before she'd have the time to learn the ropes here.
I think the proliferation of emails around the AOL expulsion was probably overwhelming, but I don't know how we could have done it any other way. I'm sure everyone will surface eventually, but maybe an email with "Waiting for You in Goodreads" or something will get their attenion.

Good idea, Carol. At some point I will match my list of M/T posters with our members here and send non-nagging inquiries to those who haven't appeared.
I saw an email from Snap--not sure if it was group or personal--that said she's all wrapped up in blogging these days. I've missed her since she quit posting regularly and hope she at least drops in on us occasionally.
Jan O'Cat, misses her dragon

I haven't really visited here yet but I have joined - happily.
I've been caught up in reading a BFB for Book Nook Cafe and have been off my mystery kick for about three weeks. I am anxious to get back into the m/t mode and am eagerly looking forward to the monthly reads thread.

hi gracee-
were you with us on aol?
what was your s/n?

~gracee in Ca. "
Yes, I was - blipped in and out , but lurked for a long time - s/n is amazengrce@aol.com I always signed my name, so I figured I was being redundant (sorry).
I have the "spay / neuter" ribbon in my board siggy
Just wanted to check in and let all of you know I found my way here. I'm still figuring out how to get things to work (every once in a while I find I've wandered into the Twilight Zone) but I'll get the hang of it.
Cheryl and Lorraine are on the M/T board on Delphi along with me. Nice folks and lots of good book recommendations (just what I need!)You might want to try it:

Hooray! Dave found us!

Hey, DJ!

Dan, am I supposed to call you Daniel now? Without sounding like you're in trouble and I'm your mom?
I can report some info on some of the people you list:
DIANE (RILLSONG), PattiPurple and Eleanor (EGW GOMA) are mostly lurkers and sporadic at that. As you've already surmised, Latna, Kymberlee, and Brenda are infrequent posters. They're on the birthday list because they enjoy it and because I usually wait at least a couple of years to drop people off it--sentimental.
Kay Yiyah was on my lurker list so she's gotten an email already.
Donna in Cedarville is on Goodreads. She has to go to the library for computer access, so she posts less frequently.
Nancy (HRDCOVERS),Burgendy and Debbie (Debid 1000) are on Goodreads.I think we're just not hearing from them much.
Susan TWIGSX4 is also tax-involved and I assume will arrive later.
I've been in email with Snap. She's got a big show at the museum and will come on after that.
So that leaves Sherie (SBSkidwell), Kit, Lorraine, Lisa, and Margie among frequent posters. Anyone know anything about them? I hope Margie feels up to learning a new system. Has anyone emailed to tell her it's easy?
Dan, I was planning to email in a week or so--give everyone enough time to feel like I'm not nagging. I'm adding the infrequents to my lurker list and will email anyway. If you'd like, you can email separately. I'm sure everyone would enjoy knowing we've notice their absence.
Jan O'Cat, whoever this "Daniel" is, he's a nice guy.

He's still the DVSBum* to me.
*Daniel's alias in a former life.

Dan, am I supposed to call you Daniel now?
I already e-mailed Margie. She was in the hospital again for a time. She's out now, and she said she will be over here soon. (Her family is coming into town for her B'Day this weekend, so I assume it'll be after that).
The "Daniel" thing is inadvertant. When I signed up for the Author Section, it was suggested that I use my full name because there are links to sites with my books. I didn't realize it was going to change my name over here too. Needless to say, "Dan" will do just fine. Dan/AZ

#50 has arrived!! Lisa (bernermoms) signed on today.

Yea! Funny, I just asked her about it on Facebook. Glad to see she made it :)

Good thinking, Gail! I had forgotten Ken.
Jan O'Cat, once you've dropped off my lists, you're dead to me. I'm a heartless little kitty.

Ann, you can share a portion of my monthly shipments of kibbles and cream that I send "up north" to the Cween of Cats.... that's the real way to stay on her lists. well that and read To Kill Mockingbird.

I can just claim I forgot to add it to my list. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I'm having fun with the trivia! I don't think I've missed any TKAM trivia questions, but some come up and as soon as I've submitted my answer, I smack myself in the forehead because I know I've missed it.
Jan O'Cat, still will not be deterred from her quest to become trivia queen

Even as Dan tracks your library outlawry, I've been tracking your lack of TKAM all these years.
Jan O'Cat, memory like a very large gray cat with a trunk

I've made it! For a while I had thought not to get involved with any boards as they take so much time away from actually reading, but I have gone into withdrawal and when Dan's e-mail arrived, I decided to give in. It will take me a while to get used to the format here, but after Wednesday I'll have my life back! Have to catch up on posts now!

I've been enjoying the trivia here on Goodreads. My TKAM answers aren't too consistent, and I find I'm pretty bad at the Shakespeare questions! However, I haven't missed a Twilight or Sookie question yet!

Melodie, I even missed a TKAM question today. Are the questions arranged to become harder the further you get into the list? They seemed harder today!
I missed one about Jem saying that school was going to be harder because they were going to start teaching . . .new math?. . .the Dewey Decimal System?. . .and I forget the other two choices. I chose new Math and it was one of those that the minute I chose it, I remembered the right answer!
Anyway, Melodie, at least you've READ TKAM, unlike some other people I'm glaring at.
I get frustrated at all of the Harry Potter questions. I haven't read beyond Book 2 and I don't even remember much about the two HP I've read.
Jan O'Cat, gonna get wrinkles from the years of glaring I've been doing at Carol

Here, let me lend you my anti-wrinkle cream.

Kay

Hi Kay, and welcome! I'll give a couple of quick answers here, but suggest you go back to the Discussions link and look for the Goodreads Tip folder, where I bet a lot of your questions will be answered.
1) you can't really save a post in a way that makes it stand out from other posts that have been read.
2) likewise since all posts are saved and only moderators can delete them, the best way to read messages is to learn how to use the "unread" botton. At the top of the page, look over to your right under the "search" field and you will see "unread". If you click on that, you will get a list of all the posts you haven't read yet. They are listed under their appropriate folder and topic, with a total in red. Click on that and it takes you right to those posts.
b) to quote, click on the teeny tiny "reply" under the post. But, most of us have discovered that the quote feature is inadequate (has a character limit). so I copy the exact phrase I want to quote, then hit reply, the paste it in the appropriate space, overwriting what's there.
I hope this gets you started, feel free to ask other questions in the Goodreads Tips folder.

Hey, everyone, you may recognize Kay by her screen name, Yiyah. Kay, you'll see that a lot of us have added our AOL screennames to our Goodreads id's to increase our recognizability and also to sort out all the Donnas and Debbies.
If you want to add Yiyah to your name here, go to the link in the far upper right corner where it says "Hi Kay." Pull that down and click on My Account. Once there, you can type virtually anything into the first name, leave the last name blank, or use the last name blank to combine names. Doesn't have to be your legal name, in other words.
If you originally signed up as your real first and last names and are not making your real last name public, then you can just combine Kay and Yiyah in the first name box.
Somehow, as I'm typing this, it seems about as clear as mud, but it really is easy.
Jan O'Cat, still hoping no one remembers her middle of the night "they've made my name public!" tantrum when she talks about how easy it is to change names here.

I did join today, and now I'm trying to learn how to get around in here. It's very interesting, but it's taking a good bit of time. I am a slow learner about technology. But I'm keeping after it. Hi everyone!
