Gail: thanks!! Wow - that is very exciting - I didn't realize the title and publication date was set! The Impossible Fortune. Yay! GailW wrote: "Next Thursday Murder Club title announced:

Hi, I am new here. Actually I am a writer from Turkey and I have just registered to goodreads, although I have been writing for more than 15 years :). My books were all in Turkish but I decided to start translating them and started doing so... Now I have 1 translated book which is on Amazon and 2 other platforms. (I am 48 and haven't been writing to classic-style forums for years!) I would love to hear your comments about my book if you have time and opportunity to read it and I am also open to your crime/ thriller fiction suggestions.
For the ones who'd like to know about my book, here is the link:
The Nook of the Soul: ...what is your price?
I am SOOOOO excited! The Pittsburgh Festival of Books is scheduled for May 31st and I just signed up for the following events:1. Rachel Khong - Real Americans - the headliner
2. Jennifer Haigh (a favorite of mine) - Mercy Street, Baker Towers, Rabbit Moon
3. The Mysteries/Thrillers panel with Linda Castillo ( Sworn to Silence series); Alex Finlay (another favorite) ( Parents’ Weekend, The Night Shift), Aggie Blum Thompson ( Such a Lovely Family), and Zoge stage ( Baby teeth).
Unfortunately, there are so many events and workshops and such a short day to have them in I'm going to miss a number of others including Danielle Arceneaux ( Glory Be, Glory Daze).
Finally, something to look forward to! (I'm thinking of wearing a hat to cover the glasses on top of my head, while I'm wearing the others - ya know - closeup, distance. Some fun...)
Gail: That is very exciting!! I hope you have a terrific time - so you have to sign up for specific events in advance? Looks like a great set for these three. You know you will enjoy this! I've just read this:
by Ben CarlyleIt's brilliant. If you want a thriller that really makes you think about what is taking place, this is it. There are so many talking points that come from how the author has approached his work. Not much is as it seems (the real-world of intelligence) and the reader is being ask all along to think about what is happening.
FINALLY! Annette Dashofy's Detective Honeywell Mystery Series, books 3 and 4 are available for preorder. Goodreads doesn't have them listed yet, but:#3: Devil Comes Calling - to be published November 2025
#4: No Stone Left Unturned - to be published December 2025
They are each $2.99 right now on Kindle
Gail: that is exciting! Thanks for the details. I enjoyed the first two books. Interesting that both books 3 and 4 are releasing a month apart. GailW wrote: "FINALLY! Thanks for the tip, Gail. I may pre-order, although that's a long time to wait for them on Kindle. I wonder how one gets notified they're in, does anybody know? I will likely forget I ordered them, LOL. I do hear the pre-order sales are good for marketing, though, so I will consider it.
Carol/Bonadie wrote: "...I wonder how one gets notified they're in, does anybody know? ..."I usually get an email that they are available. But often I'll just find them in my kindle library as "recent" before I actually get the email.
Carol: Good question - the Kindle app on my phone pops up a notice for Kindle titles on release date, surely would potentially do that for a new release that was pre-ordered - but now that I think of it, audible might not notify me for pre-orders (or I am looking so often (refreshing my library) that I don't need a notice. Sherry wrote: "anyone watched yet? i'm finishing up hostage on netflix (very good) then TTMC is up next ..."I'm late in commenting and maybe you've watched already. I've watched and I mostly enjoyed it, once I set aside the minor differences from the book. Excellent cast, first and foremost. I thought it was going to be a series but was movie-length. I wonder if more are on the horizon?

i also thought it was going to be a series and was a little disappointed that it wasn't. i did enjoy the movie, though
I haven't watched the Thursday Murder Club movie yet - soon I hope. We have been busy catching up with Sneaky Pete and Severance and starting the new season of Murders in the Building - all very good.
Hi Anna,I can always count on Nora Roberts for a steamy romance/thriller. Not recent but a few years ago I read The Search about a woman who trains rescue dogs and is being stalked. It was satisfying and interesting.
Anna: I agree with Carol - Nora Roberts always satisfies for me - she combines romance and a strong female character with strong suspense. Carol/Bonadie wrote: "Hi Anna,

Book proposition:If you like a Tom Clancy with a French touch, a Thriller where readers are taken into cockpits, submarines and destroyers of the French Navy. Drawing on true events and authentic technology, the book offers not just action, but a fresh “what if” scenario that rewrites how the Kosovo War could have unfolded—making it both thought-provoking and pulse-pounding.”
Keep on reading, keep on spreading!Thibaut MalletMASKIROVKA
