A bit belated w/my Atlas Shrugged comments but here they are... I grew up in US (Midwest) but was never exposed Rand, either in grade-school or college. Required grade-school academia was more Orwellian ;) Luke, your review of AS totally rocked. I found myself LOL. AS so bored me, I barely made it 1/2 thru, then deleted the Audible audiobook! Her "non-fiction" is a bit better, IMO. But guess what -- she preaches the same thing: yup, she REALLY believes her vomit. Rand's a hag! YouTube her 1980 appearance on Phil Donahue. A confusing, mess--both "philosophically" and emotionally. Her tantrum-fit thrown at the end of that episode is ... ENTERTAINING. Yeah, she can write well .. so maybe suggested reading in a literary ARTS course. SHIFTING GEARS: The SFBRPs in "fantasy" genre are not my cup-o-Starbucks :) I want more PURE sci-fi. Clarke's Rama would make a good one. Or maybe even Michael Crichton. Cheers!
