We're still on for Boundless on Friday right? I'm working on a read for review now but then I'm excited to finish off that series!

Yeah good point. I like that there were subtle hints so you only realise afterwards :)

yes David still on for Boundless on Friday! I dont know ifKaren is ready yet, I know she was reading Hallowed
Oh really? I didn't realize she had caught up! That would be awesome :) I'll set up the thread anyway and then we can play it by ear and start a day or two later if necessary! Yay!!

I'm still kind of rereading this one too, Jen. I've been trying to finish Hallowed first though for Friday's buddy read since I was so late on this one. DANG WORK!! :-P
Yay! David said if we need to wait a few days for yiu to finish Hallowed thats fine! Its so awesome that David finish Partials, you are reading Unearthly and Hallowed! Now its up to me to read Gone I guess!
Jen wrote: "OK, late to the party but just starting it this afternoon. Shockingly short hold time for the library! Thank you Overdrive and Digital Downloads!"

I'm good!! I'm almost done with Hallowed! I should finish by tomorrow with time to spare! :) Then I'll get back into Partials so I can at least have it reread by Fragments buddy read. Heheheh.. Soooo many books, so little time!
Plus, my schedule will lighten up again (my normal 55 to 60 hours rather than 70 - 80 hours a week) in April, so I should be back to normal!!

Geez you are a crazy hard worker Karen! Those sound like the hours I did when I was an auditor (10 months and one lifetime ago lol). Now I still put in those kind of hours, but I don't seem to mind it anymore ;)

Yayyyyy! So glad you're enjoying it as much as we did Jen! I smell an epic buddy read of the sequel :)

Wow. Just, wow. Wow.

Karen, you seriously need a vacation. To read, of course - just, by a pool that's 20 feet from the ocean. Palm trees, drinks with little umbrellas . . .

Fabulous review! (view spoiler)
I am SO glad I picked this up again to read. I don't know what was wrong with me the first time, but the next time I'm willing to give something a second go, I'm definitely doing it. This was also true with

Funny you should say that, Jen! My business partner and I have been discussing that very thing for mid-summer! I've started looking for a beautiful beach somewhere in this world! Thinking maybe Hawaii. Just me, my Nook and I! And drinks with little umbrellas! If anyone has any suggestions, I'm listening! I've been to Mexico and the Caribbean several times. Looking for somewhere culturally different! ;-)
Jen, I agree! Reading with friends gives each book a whole new flavor! Things I may have missed make sense now! I'm rereading this one and already see it differently! I may change my rating if I feel the same when I finish! I love reading everyones' thoughts!

I would definitely recommend Maui, and Ulua Beach is my fav. My daughter is named after Makena Landing (her name is Makenna and she's 22 - before that name got so popular and everyone stole it!). I am partial to Wailea, but the beaches north of Keihi are nice as well. Kaanapali is really built up, so we avoided it - and if you go, be sure to have lunch or dinner at Mama's Fish House.
Jeesh, now I want to go!
I'm so glad you loved this one, Jen! I agree with you on everything, except maybe Marcus. I agree on the relationship aspects, he just wasn't my favorite guy in the book I guess!
Karen, that sounds amazing! JEALOUS!

I ordered the sequel already, but it probably will take another 2 weeks before my copy get's here. So if everyone else is willing to wait that long I would love to join the buddy read of the sequel.
btw I also found out there is a short story about the Isolation war

I saw that one Lolita, I was going to grab it and read it soon! I should get Fragments next week, but I'm fine on waiting a little bit to read it!

So I was going through some of my blog posts last year, and one of my last "Top Tens" for the year consisted of the top ten "New to Me" authors. Dan Wells made my list! Here's what I wrote:
9. Dan Wells
Favorite book read--Partials
Why I like him--This man just seems brilliant to me. His YA dystopian book was my favorite for this genre of the year. He is really good at setting up the story, and slowly revealing things along the hero's journey...the whole thing was just brilliant!
Here's the blog post if you want to read the rest of it!

THANKS!!! What a compliment! I have been falling behind on it, with the move, but I'll get it all caught up at some point! lol
I went and checked but I'm already following your blog :) I didn't even realize it, lol! I usually catch it on here first, anyways!
Lol! Well thanks for checking and I appreciate you following my blog too :) Yeah, I love how it links to GRs :)

One thing I suspected from the very beginning was that Kira herself was a partial. I have almost nothing to back up the theory, it just seems like a possible twist, but who knows.
And my over-aching assumption is that the senate or certain peoples within the senate are evil and lying to the masses. Cuz, hey, it's a dystopian novel, right? I haven't quite figured out motivations yet though, so I'm very eager to see how it all plays out.
Anyway...I'm loving it!

I really hope we get more answers soon!
btw what (view spoiler)[ is the Isolation War? Is it ever mentioned in the book? I don't think so, so I am really curious where that war was about. Just like RM, I still haven't found what it means. It must be an abrevation for something, right? (hide spoiler)]
